3.7 Pours a cloudy peach with medium off-white head with a hint of rose, which leaves some lacing and skim. The color suggests pink grapefruit juice with a head, and the nose also hints at that, with a tart noted complementing the usual wheat and spice. On the palate, the raspberries are tart and ride on top instead of overpowering the underlying wheat, mild banana and subdued clove notes. In short, this is a light summer beer, mildly sweet but with tart fruit providing a refreshing tang. The finish is drier than suggested by the foregoing, and with more grass than fruit. Despite that, this is nice seasonal offering.
2.9 DATE: June 4, 2016... GLASSWARE: Weihenstephan weizen... OCCASION: chilling and grilling with the boys after two baseball wins... pours an extremely cloudy tan body that reveals some sediment at the glass’;s bottom and variably sized bubbles... opaque otherwise... head is a thick two fingers that settles to a soapy white bowl... clear banana with some tart raspberry and wheat esters that suggest earthiness... sharp, tart immediacy that sours the aftertaste for an appreciable time... on second sip, the banana and hay come through, mellowing the impact of the raspberry puree... refreshing and forward, with a larger flavor than 4.1% ABV would suggest... slight lacing in the glass... the suggestion of cracker at its end would suggest malts? effervescent and spritzy in its palate, like an Italian soda... I could easily reach for this if summer slamming was on the party menu, if not for the tartness that does not relent as the glass drains... some candied suggestions leave the finish of the bottle with a medicinal quality... a palpable graininess rounds off the experience, and I am left thinking this is somewhere between styles... okay for a surprise in a craft box 12-off, but not one I would seek out....
2.9 Color is kidney stone urine. But the taste is mild fruity sweetness. Perfect for a sampler run.
2.6 12 ounce bottle. Cloudy orange gold color. Medium sized creamy white head. Raspberry and lemon wheat malt aroma. Flavor is wheat malt and raspberry. Very light body and flavor. A good option on a hot day, but rather insipid.
3.9 Pours lightly pink. Like thin red grapefruit juice. Aroma is tart, light raspberry. Flavor is tart american style wheat with a nice bit of raspberry. Easy to drink and not overly sweet with fake fruit.
2.9 Smells and tastes a little like raspberry flavored seltzer water. It grew on me as we drank it.
3.4 On tap at Nooonan’s Hamilton OH. Pours pastel pink with a white head. Tart berry nose. Taste the same with some apple flavor and a decent amount of raspberry wheat. Little lacing in the glass. Light palate. Clean crisp finish. Nice ale.
3.9 355ml bottle. Can’t believe the low ratings. Its a smooth crushable and creamy wheat beer with TART raspberry. Very nice, will be getting laid with this brew.
2.9 Bottle from Chevy Chase Supermarket. Golden body with medium head. Nose is fresh apples, sweet. Taste quite fruity, strong taste of raspberries, sweet. Watery as well. Warming finish. Not really my thing.
2.5 NOt sure what makes it a hefeweizen. Weak tart raspberry flavors with a grainy bill at the end.
2.9 12oz bottle from a Total Wine. Poured a ruby color, pretty beer - with a small off-white head. Aroma was a nice light raspberry one, with some light sweet malt character. Flavor was a bit artificial, with some metallic notes. It’s refreshing enough on a super hot day, but it’s lacking something.
3.3 12 oz. bottle. Pours an amber color with a pink hue and a tight soapy off white head. Aroma is bready light raspberry and that is about it. Taste biscuit bready with faint raspberry little spice and malty finish. Palate is light crisp slightly chewy.
3.8 12 oz. bottle from Old Town. Aroma: I was expecting a raspberry bomb, but the nose actually gives you a typical Hefeweizen vibe- slightly tart wheat, a hint of banana, some light spiciness. Raspberry is in there, but it’s surprisingly subtle. Appearance: Unfiltered, tinted rosé pour with some suggestion of carbonation; a foamy off-white head fades into a patchy skin. Flavor: Just as the nose, the typical hefeweizen flavors are most noticeable off the bat; raspberry becomes more prevalent towards the finish, also imparting a very light tartness; the finish dries out completely with a lingering grassy note. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, lingering finish. Overall: Much better than many are suggesting here; at least I think so. A really well constructed summer quencher.
2.9 Raspberry and water taste. Draft at brew house with my friend Kristen. Fruity and stuff. Yey
3.0 Nice crisp pink coloured tint to a strong copper body, all with a thick, four centimetre tall microfoamed tan head with pink highlights. Aroma of raspberries, sour cherries, light malt and a bit of wheat freshness. Light-bodied; Strong wheat flavour at first with a good amount of raspberries, but no depth (not to be expected, either) and pungency of any real flavours aside from a touch of malt, but that’s very lacking as well. Aftertaste shows the raspberries well, but nothing to sustain them with - no malt depth and no complexity in the flavour profile. Overall, a pretty weak offering, and even at a low ABV, there could be some flavours coming through here, sort of like a gose, and somehow most of those generate a good set of flavours despite the low ABV. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop on 28-April-2015 for US$2,19 sampled at home in Washington on 25-May-2015.
2.8 12 oz bottle from Hy Vee Wine & Spirits - Muscatine. Orange and hazy appearance with a lingering white head. Crisp, fruity and lightly spicy with a raspberry finish. Light and easy to drink. Somewhat refreshing.
3.1 ラズベリーヘフェバイツェン ラズベリー感がすごい、香りよくて、スッキリのめる
2.8 120z bottle from Xroads. Well simply put scroll past this one unless you want to try Schlafly’s answer to sweet fruity macro crap which this beer was obviously made to compete against. Poured a super ugly milky rosy/amber body with a smaller fizzy way off white head. Aroma of bad fruit, dry toast, soap and vomit. Flavor is slightly better with bad fruit, newspaper, sawdust and grain husk. This beer sucks.
2.5 Meh, nothing really noteworthy. Raspberry rings in a bit on the fake tasting side.
2.7 Bottle. Pours clear orange with a medium sized white head. The aroma is sweet raspberry juice, a bit fleshy. The taste is fairly blue raspberry.. Not much hefe.
3.3 Slightly hazed peachy pour with watery foamy head. Aroma is light raspberry and not much more. Flavor is light sweet raspberry. A flat bitter almost artificial fruitiness. Medium/light body with ok carbonation.
3.1 Raspberry nose. Cloudy peach colored, headless. Dry raspberry, bready and grassy finish. Light. Fruity, but beery as well.
2.6 cloudy orange color; tart raspberry aroma; mild, slightly tart raspberry flavor with some banana-clove hefeweizen flavor coming through
3.4 Good raspberry wheat. Not to sweet. I could drink several of these. Recommended.
2.8 This beer, although a raspberry beer, pours a clody pinkish orange color, which is unappealing, with a medium white head that fades quickly. The aroma is strongly reminiscent of yeast and strawberry wafers (oddly enough), and the flavor is slightly sour and slightly sweet. The palate is more appealing than the flavor, though, due to the medium-light body, slick texture, soft carbonation, and abrupt finish. Overall, this beer is lackluster with not enough raspberry in it.
2.9 Bottle. Pours a hazy pale reddish color with a small white head. Has a fruity wheat malty raspberry aroma. Fruity wheat malty raspberry flavor. Has a fruity wheat malty raspberry finish.
3.1 On tap @ Schlafly. Hazed pink pour with a white head. Raspberry jam, some grass, and a hint of lemon. Slightly seltzery. Flavor is sweet raspberry syrup, bread dough, and jam. A bit of water/seltzer, grass, and lemon. Mild bitterness on the finish.
3.0 12 ounce bottle. Light orange body. Slight hefe taste maybe a slight raspberry taste, but little fruit coming through.
2.0 I was expecting more from the smell. Had a sour, yeasty aroma with no hint of raspberries. It did smell a hefeweizen, definitely not like a fruit beer. It is good looking - cloudy medium golden color with an off-white smallish head. Tastes sour, almost stale with a real fake hint of raspberry at the end. Palate is virtually non-existent. Not a good offering from Schlafly, which kills me to say because I like them so much.
2.9 RBSG brunch. Pours cloudy orange. Nose/taste of wheat, raspberry and light banana. Lighter medium body.
