2.4 straight out of the can in my hotel room. nose of malt, wet corn, slight metal taste is sweet, but not cloying, some creamed corn. metal. tinny lingering mouth, overall not horrid.
1.3 Does not look too bad, and does not smell ALL bad. This is completely undrinkable however. Alcohol and cheap ingredients. Pour down drain.
3.2 Transfer from BA review on 4-22-13- Poured from 40 into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours from the clear bottle into the glass as a light golden/straw color with a big billowy white head. The head fades has a fantastic level of retention, fading to leave a lighter level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is very light overall and consists mainly of some corn and skunky smells with a little bit of a grainy aroma. Taste – A sweet corny and malty taste greets the tongue. It is rather smooth upfront with some light graininess coming to the tongue more toward the middle of the taste. A caramel flavor comes to the tongue more at this time as well keeping a rather sweet taste in the brew. Toward the end a light paper and metallic taste comes to the tongue leaving a sweet and lightly bready taste on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather average with a carbonation level that is on the average side as well. Appropriate for the style as it is both drinkable but yet still decently thick enough to allow for the sweet corny and light grainy flavors to be sensed by the tongue without being too thick and accentuating the more off flavors (paper and a little bit of metal). Overall – It fits the malt character rather well. While not a flavor powerhouse and even with some light off flavors, it is quite cheap (paid $2.29 for a 40) and still very drinkable. Not too bad.
2.2 Poured from a can a mid gold with large, frothy white head that provided plenty of lacing. Aroma was a slight pungent mix of grains and hops. Taste is of malt and grains (think corn) with a mild hop finish. Not the worst thing in the world. Palate is OK for what it is. Overall, a mediocre but relatively cheap malt liquor.
1.5 Can. Pours pale yellow with fizzy white head. Aroma is corn, pale malts, and funk. Flavor is very bland, malty and slight vegetal notes. Medium body and carbonation.
1.6 Can. Tastes like sweet corn, grains, musk. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like musky grains.
1.9 bottle. Poured clear straw colored with a thin white head. Light sweet malt aroma. Light body, carbonated texture. Flavour of grainy malt with a metallic finish.
1.6 Jjust another highly carbonated, yellow, foamy American beer. It’s almost indistinguishable from all of the others. Now, it might be entirely in my mind, but I do have to say that I picked up on a little more alcohol in the aroma and in the flavor. The can says it’s 5.9% ABV, so I guess it’s a hair higher than the other convenience store beers, but not in the same league as some of the stuff they seem to be marketing to fratboys these days. There’s nothing noteworthy in the flavor, other than that hint of alcohol. There’s corn, and more corn, and that’s all. There does appear to be a slight... very slight ... bit of alcohol vapor at the end of the sip. It evaporates as quickly as the aroma and flavor, taking all of that childhood, commercial-inspired magic into the ether with it.
1.4 Can (Old Notes)-Pours golden with a small head. Aroma of grains, corn, and grass. Taste of a bit sour and slight alcohol. This light to medium brew is pretty bad.
2.0 Bottle thanks to drowland. Very cold. Not much flavor. Slightly sweetish. Just watery otherwise. Blah.
3.4 I called this rocket fuel at one time, it gave me the highest happiest highs!
1.7 This poured a light straw like color with a white head. Aroma was of corn, metal and fusels. Falvor was similar, especially as is warmed, became almsot undrinkable.
2.0 24 oz can to pint (shared with the Mrs.). Looks decent for the style; a transparent gold with white head. Smells and tastes doughy and a bit skunky with an average (at best) mouthfeel. Maybe a bit of corn too. Not good, but not as bad as its scores suggest.
2.7 Tallboy courtesy of Homer321. Pours a crystal clear dark golden color with big white fluffy head. Aroma is light, semi sweet, lager yeast character, very mild corn. Flavor is fairly mild for a likka, very low corn adjunct character, slight astringency in finish and a touch of alcohol. Not the best but certainly not the worst likka I’ve had.
3.1 24oz bottle. This was my go to malt liquor in the day. Always tastes better in a glass container. Probably one of the better tasting malts out there.
0.8 946ml bottle. Clear pale yellow body, small white head, poor retention. Aroma of wet cardboard, skunk, herbs, metallic notes. Taste is strongly medicinal, sour, grains, herbs, cooked vegetables. Nasty!
1.3 Pure corn & sugar adjunct beer with a pungent grainy nose that smells like flat beer. Actually goes down fairly smooth although it gets stronger into the beer and I forced myself to finish it.
1.1 comprada en un supermercado de la Florida probando algo nuevo, olor a oxido y al paladar agua con un ligero amargo que parece al lupulo, un buen catador de cervezas debe de probar estas ’cosas’ tambien
0.9 Massive 24oz beast at the thunderbird malt likka tasting. It pours clear golden with a medium white head. The nose is grass, sulphur, chlorine, turps, tinned fruit and lighter fluid. The taste is grainy, sweet pale malt, corn, burnt butter, white sugar, tinned peach and metal with a sweet finish. Mediumish body and high carbonation. Nasty nose, partially better taste. Best so far.
1.8 16 oz. can from drowland- thanks, Dr. Owl! Pours a clear gold color with a huge, frothy eggshell white head. Notes of grass, pale malts, sugar, corn, and straw. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, malty mouthfeel. Not nearly as bad as the VSL.
5.0 AEKDB 8 Kegs of the Bull several times a week was once the way of life at the Kappa Sigma House at the University of TN. Beer sucks, but memories of goods times and waking up with huff prints on your chest from bring trampled give it a 5!!
2.3 16oz can poured into a shaker. Pours a dark gold with minimal head. Aroma of sweet sugar water, rotten apples and a little metal. Taste is light sweet. Sugar water and cotton candy. Full bodied with a slightly sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. A little on the plain side, but still drinkable.
2.0 24 oz can with Cheetos. Classy. I find the higher ABV malt liqours actually are much more flavorful. This exhibits the generic sweet corn and a slight funk. However not overly sweet or much metal going on. Really just a sweet pale lager. In the end, just not good.
2.5 smell isn’t impressive...but the taste isn’t nearly as bad as you would think! you could confuse it with a mid-level beer..I’ve certainly had worse for more expensive...only downside is no distinct flavor...it’s just "beer"
2.7 Can poured into a pint glass. Clear hay with a slight white head. Real loose lacing. Light grassy hop aroma. Surprisingly non-cereal. Taste is faint cereal with a slight citrus bite and a sweet malt finish. Real easy drinking with a nice carbonation bite.
1.5 Inspired to pick this one up by adnielsen and randomgarbage and let me tell you what this one is definitely random garbage. Piss yellow with a big head and good lacing. Cat pee, corn, straw, wet-dog, and grapey aroma. Corn, cereal, straw, stale bready garbage juice. Light body high carbonation. Pretty shitty, but who cares if you’re just trying to get buzzed quick.
3.1 Side by side with the red. Yellow with a bit white head. Much bigger head than the Red and also much darker in color. Pretty aggressive hop aroma and flavor on this. Earthy, a bit perfumey, and just enough sweetness to let you know this beast doesn’t play. Solid.
1.0 Saw this at a liquor store in San Antonio; didn’t know they still made it and I needed a malt liquor to rate. Pale pale yellow, white head that dissipated very quickly. Aroma was bready. Flavor was corn, very (too) smooth.
1.9 Bottle: Drank from the bottle in a brown paper bag. Aroma of skunky ass grain. Lots of malts and grain little bitter cardboard finish.
1.2 Consumed (partially) and rated solely for style. 24ozcan->SA glass. Clear gold, white head. Aroma is faint malt and bread. Taste is metallic grains. Basically awful. Of course.
