Doppelbock Dunkel has a pleasant full and creamy body, with coffeeish aroma. Nicely warming with toffeelike malty sweetness, balanced by a hoppy-bitterness in the finish.

2.9Dark brown with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour have a lot of caramel and dried fruits. A bit too sweet. Something like artificial sweetener.
3.3Bottle. Clear brown colour with some red lights and a small, quickly disappearing tan head, nose is malty, fruity, Woody and roasty with notes of coffee, dark fruits, toffee, sherry and oak wood, taste is quite sweet and roasty with a moderately dry finish and an oily texture.
3.3Bottle: Mahagony coloured, presumably clear, small and quickly collapsing loose off-white head, mild sweet toasty nose with traces of dark malt, minerals and fruit-cake; moderate sweet flavour with a shy bitterness underneath, astonishingly light bodied for a beer of 8.5%, but soft; lingering sweet-bitter and fruity-malty finish. Not exciting, but very well drinkable...

Megaslodkie. Mega. Sporo ciala, banan? Susz? Chleba sporo. Meczy w pyte, przegiete. Ale nie mozna powiedziec, ze zle
Rami Rami: Aha, bylo w okolicy daty waznosci :)
3.6Aroma is malty and fruity with notes of dried fruit and dark sugar. Clear medium to dark brown color with a small, fast dissolving, white head. Flavor is medium sweet with notes of dried fruit. It tastes a bit metallic. Mouthfeel is oily, body is medium. Finish is short and sweet. It's sweet but not too sweet. I like it. 0,33l bottle from Biergasthof Schiffner.
3.2Warka 04.2018. Barwa bardzo ciemnego bursztynu. Klarowne. Ładna piana drobnopecherzykowa. Aromat karmelowy, toffi. W smaku słodycz, karmel, bardzo dojrzała słówka, średnio do słabo wysycone. Goryczka niska. Alkohol dość dobrze ukryty. Aromaty chmielowe niewyczuwalne. Niezłe piwo ale trochę ulepek.
3.30.33 l bottle from 'CraftBeer-Dealer.com', best before May 2019. Clear, dark ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins and prunes. Rather sweet, malty, almost sugary and slightly fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins, prunes and some brown sugar, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Decent, nothing special.
3.1Dunkler, s holzig malziger Beginn. Trockene Bitternoten, die Se bleibt stark. Etwas getreidig, weich, deutlich nach Karamell. Holzig rstig bleibend, intensiv, zu trockener Nachgeschmack. 9/10/9/9/8/9
3.133cl bottle. BB 05/2019. A clear orange brown beer with a mid-sized to small beige head. Aroma of strong dark grainy malt, bread, cereals. Taste of sweet and strong dark malt, sugar, grains, bread, slightly boozy.
3.2Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain/nuts, espresso), with notes of nut shells. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, soft carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Almost more like an "imperial Schwarzbier"...very roasty and not quite as thick and sweet as most Doppelbocks. Forgettable, but decent.
4.3Ar: Bread and brandy; a deep and elegant toasted maltiness; very clean fermentation profile. Ap: Deep chestnut brown; clear; medium-small tan head with moderate-low retention, settles into a medium-small but solid cap of foam with slightly edging sides. T: Very rich, caramel layered on thick; clean dark cherry and vanilla; sweetness is medium-high; bitterness is low, rounded out by the alcohol; no hop flavor; a little maple; finish is smooth and profoundly caramel sweet yet somehow not cloying. P: Full body with medium-high carbonation; silky smooth; finish is medium-sweet. O: This is the definition of richness; clean, malty, and well-fermented; exceptionally lush and expressively malty; caramel, but in a very complex, deep sense.
3.3Pours dark brown, translucent, no much head and no lacing. Aroma of sweet malts, floral and caramel. Tastes very sweet, with caramel and ripe fruits. Medium body, sticky, soft carbonation. Decent and easy to drink.
4.1Pours dark brown and without head. Aroma is plums, spice and chocolate notes. Taste is sweet fruit, nutmeg and toffee. Finish is smooth. A darn good doppelbock.
3.9330 ml. bottle @ home. BBF 04.2018. Very dark brown, ruby hue some deep mocha bubbles. Nose is massively cloying Christmas spices, sweet wood, herbal syrup, Christmas cake, pudding more massive DE herbal cloying sweetness. Taste is herbal sweet wood, cloves, low cinnamon, cardamom, Christmas spices, tastes like a cloying cabinet of sweet spices, cooked apple, herbal almost medicinal DE body, oily slick caramel cooked apple, herbal, thick caramel, oily, walnut oil. Massive. Bitter bark, oak. Not fully my thing but fascinating massive classical exercise that is quite brilliant in its own fashion. Old school stuff, I dig it.
3.7Bottle from de Caigny in Essen, Belgium. The beer is very dark brown to black colored and has a small and little unstable creamy head, with good carbonation.
The aroma is malty, with notes of caramel, roasted malts, dark fruits and a little smoke and chocolate.
The taste is full bodied with a sweetness with caramel and dried fruits. Near the end a light bitterness is noticable with some spicy and warming alcohol and some roasted and chocolate notes.
The finish is light bitter with some warming alcohol and is long noticable.
A little to sweet for me, but still I found it an enjoyable beer.
4.2Meget vinøes og næsten ingen bitterhed. Sødmen passer fint til stilen.......
3.6Donkerbruin bier zonder schuim. Smaak is zoet en fruitig met iets van rozijn, bramen en kersen. Een lichte koffie smaak is eveneens aanwezig. Mooie combinatie.
3.0Nice looking beer. Very dark brown with an inch of slightly off white foam. Minimal lacing.
Smells of toffee, bread, dark fruits. It’s not all sweet. There’s more than a hint of bitterness.
The taste is bready, has toffee with some mild pitted fruit, kinda sweet but not when compared to the brewer’ s other offerings. To me, this is sort of bland.
Medium body, fairly light carbonation, feeling all of the 8.5% abv.
Not my favourite from this brewery.
3.7Cerveza color ámbar rojizo con aromas a maltas y notas dulces. De consistencia semi-espera. Al paladar se perciben notas a maltas tostadas con final acaramelado. Muy agradable cerveza.
3.3Bottle received in the European trade, thanks Saeglopur. Clear chestnut brown with a medium sized beige head with good retention, lace and regeneration. Caramel, roasted malt, chocolate and dark fruits in the nose. Flavour follows. Caramel, brown sugar, dark dried fruits, syrup, molasses. Sweet with little bitterness, light warming alcohol. Ok, but a bit too sweet for my preference.
2.6I’m going to say first off this was an 8 year old bottle from nachbar. Need fresher bottle.
3.5Bottle, 330ml at Aux 12 Apotres, Strasbourg, France. Dark brown with cream head. Big fruity beer, toffee, fudge notes, some sweetness, some fruity alcohol, maybe a barley wine like hint. Nice and rounded in the close Pretty decent indeed.
3.6Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark brown with no head. Moderate prickly fizz and a bit sticky on the lips. Chocolate and muscavado sugar and roasty malt up front. Warming sherry-like alcohol grows with a slight woody bitterness, although it’s sweet overall. Chalk at the end with an unfortunate hint of cheap lager. Finishes less well than it starts, but still a decent beer.
3.8Bottle, 33cl. Deep reddish with a frothy to minimal tan head. Aromas of dried fruits, roasted malts, alcohol. Robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Moderate to heavy sweet roasted character with moderate bitterness into a complex fruity and alcohol finish. Very pleasant.
3.7ruby to mahogany colour, moderate sized creamy yellowish-beige-ish head; aroma of caramel, biscuits, dried fruits like figs and raising, herbal and medicinal notes and spicy alcohol; taste is the same with syrupy sweetness; good, although not easily drinkable
3.6330 ml bottle. Dark cooper brown color with off white to light beige head. Malty aroma, light grainy notes in the beginning, caramel, light bready, fruity, dark dried fruits, light vinous, some chocolate notes when it gets warmer. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma with some alcoholic notes addition. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation. It becomes quite good when it gets warmer and breaths for some time.
3.7Bottle from secret santa Saeglopur, many thanks! Pours deep mahogany brown. Aroma is malty with toffee and dark fruit. Taste follows with nuts, brown sugar, a light earthiness, sweet berries, bit of wood and slightly vinous. Sweet, but not overly sweet, oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation. Very good complex doppelbock.
3.733cl bottle. Pours a deep brown not much head. Smells of toffee and malt. Chewy malt, moderate mouthfeel. Pretty good.
3.3330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours dark brown with a thick bubbly, cola-esque head, and just as short-lived. Aromas of toffee, not much else. Taste is more toffee, caramel. Sweet finish.
3.7Bottle, thanks Werckmeister! Clear very dark brown liquid with small to medium light tan head. Aroma of raw sugar, chocolate, licorice, red berries, pumpernickel, light ash, dried fruit and toast. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of raw sugar, dried fruit, light roasted malt and light toast. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Unnecessarily high carbonation. Otherwise, pretty nice!
