2.9 Fruchtig, Röstaromen, Würzig und gute Malznote, insgesamt nicht sehr markant. Die Bitterkeit hinten raus kommt etwas kantiger und macht es etwas spezieller.
4.0 Pours clear amber/copper with decent off-white head. Mild, yet complex composition of sweet malty flavours, some fruit and a little booze. Elegant and highly drinkable.
3.1 500ml bottle (Alko, Kittilä). Clear dark amber color. Medium size, beige head, stays. Malty, herbal hops, faint caramel in aroma. Sweet, malty, herbal hops, roasted grains in taste. Herbal hops and malty in aftertaste. Medium carbonation. Drinkable brew. Came back to give more points because didn't notice 8% abv. Hopping is nice too.
3.2 Pours pale Amber, with minimal head and low retention, sweet with some hop aroma, medium body, candy flavour with low bitterness.
4.2 This is a beautiful bock. Those who are giving it a poor rating are probably not familiar with what a bock should be. There are wonderful toasted malt flavors with multiple depths, just the right amount of sweetness to balance the subtle bitter hops. When we take the price into consideration, this is about as good as a bock can get.
3.1 Bought at Alko in Säkylä, in a 0,5L bottle. Appearance; golden amber beer with slightly off white head, which slowly disappears. Nose; some fruity notes with light malts. Taste; malty and fruity, some rosé whine and a lot of sticky-ness. Not so much rosé as I expected, still really a malty beer. The 8% alcohol is well hidden. Quite a pleasant beer actually. Typical a one night stand beer; you only drink one of those in one evening.
3.0 50 cl. bottle Low and quickly disappering white fluffy head, Clear amber reddish body. Sweet berries spicy herbal aroma and flavor, little hops bitterness, low carbonation, low cabonation, long finish.
3.7 Shared bottle at RB/HD at Tau 15.06.17. Clear orange golden. Sweet malt in fruity aroma and taste. Also with marmalade. Very good and well-balanced,
3.4 Shared 500 ml bottle, from Alko Karigasniemi. Colour like rosé wine, white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, some fruit / berries and alcohol. Smooth flavour, berry notes, some alcohol, decent bittering hops. Warming throatfeel. Might well buy again.
3.5 Shared bottle at RBHD. Pours clear dark golden/amber with a small head. Aroma is malty, weak fruits and roast. Taste is smooth malty, only weak sweet, nice deep malty, weak roasted with a nice herbal finish.
3.2 bottle from Ladenburg. Red-brown colour, beige head. Malty with some caramel and chocolate, lingering bitter-sweet finish.
3.3 Klares Rot mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Malzig, Röstaromen, süßlich, etwas Karamell, sehr würzig, etwas bitter.
2.2 500 ml bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty. Looks: Clear amber orange colour; Three-finger head with crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Very good sticky lacing with active slow carbonation. Aroma: Fragrant and sweet full malt, with strong caramel, sticky toffee, fruit cake, orange, raisins, dark fruits, floral, strong brown sugar, strong bread, lemon and light grass. Taste: Very strong sweet full amber malt, with Melanoidin, caramel, red fruits, orange oil, alcohol, liquorices, floral, sugar, strong herbs, biscuits, lemon, strong bitter hops and grass. Body: Medium body. Oily and slick palate. Mouth feel: Rich Amber maltyness in thick background. Slick and heavy, dry and very Munich-like. Red fruits and bitter orange bury much of the caramel, also pretty boozy with loads of herbal hop extract and liquorices which is close to uncomfortable. Flowery and very tooth-rotting sweet, lemon to round. Very unbalanced. Hoppiness: Floral, lemon and light grass in nose. Liquorices, strong herbs, floral, lemon and grass in taste;.Bitterness - extract and booze - is overtly strong for a lasting, very high astringent sweet-bitter malty finish. After Taste: Fairly dry. Very sweet and very bitter to mouth. Comments: Beyond its nice amber color and good head, there’s not much to praise for this one, with strong Amber orangey maltyness undone by very strong sweetness, booze and abusive hop extract bitterness. The Japanese macros, Suntory In particular, are following the exactly same template for their “Premium Malt’s” series of Golden Ales, and they would probably drool all over this one as perfect example of their vision of German beers. Not for me I am afraid - too orangey, too sweet, and too fake extract bitter, these elements are at odds with each other. A failure!
3.5 Malty nose. Pale fast dissapearing head. Golden color. Slightly sour taste bread berries and hops. Warming alcohol.
3.2 Flasche 0,5l: Kupfer, rötliches Bernstein, glasklar, etwas mittelporiger Schaum; in der Nase kräftige würzige Süße, Malz, Getreide, Malzzucker, leichte Säure, getrocknete Früchte, Röstaromen, nussig, leichte Hopfenbitterkeit; im Körper kräftige würzige Süße, Malz, Malzzucker, Karamell, würziger Honig, cremig, kräftige Kohlensäure, frische Hopfenaromen, würzige Bitterkeit; angenehmer süßlich würziger Nachgang
3.5 Bottle. Pours amber with small tan head. Aroma is very sweet with caramel and sugar. Taste has as well caramel, raisins, nuts, sugar, some bread and malt. Very sweet beer, nice one too
3.0 500ml bottle. Drinkable enough, did not seem like 8%, it is malty, some herbs, a bit one-dimensional.
2.9 Clear, dark brown colour, some white lacing but very minimal. Mild aroma, a bit of malts, yeast, sour fruit. Taste nice and strong, bitter with dry finish, strong alcohol presence. Smooth mouthfeel, medium carbonation, medium bodied with soft and creamy consistency.
3.4 Bottle, Pours reddish golden with a flat head. Aroma is mostly fresh bread and sweet malts. Starts strong malty, bready, well balanced sweet and bitter. Middle part has also strong pale malts, slight bitter and bready. dry finish
3.5 Nice bottle but no information about the hops, malts and drinktemperature. A clear amber beer with cream-colored head, smell is rose and caramel, light sweet, medium until full body, lively carbonation, dry and short finish, texture oily, (I have 0.5l bottle with batch 6949 and best-before 17/03/17)
3.5 Bottiglia.
3.0 Bottle 50 cl. Amber, clear with a minimal and short lived white head. Lots of malt and some caramel aroma. Medium bitter taste with a dry malt, slightly roasted end.
3.2 0,5 bottle out of the kappldav123 box. Thanks a lot mate! Clear bright copper, nearly two finger head. Malty on the nose, little bit fruity. Taste starts malty, caramell, hints of cherries, followed by an alcoholic sequence, some sweetness. Low alcoholic sharpness and bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice.
3.2 Karamellig-röstiger Geruch. Startet mit Karamell. Mitte bereichert mit Malz und röstigen Aromen. Röstig-bitterer Ausklang. Echt gut.
2.6 Bottle. Pours amber color with medium short-living white head. Clear. Grainy, grassy, caramely aromas. Flavor is weak for 8,0 % alcohol beer. Some notes of caramel, german hops, lcohol. Not too much malt flavors. Medium body, maybe even light. Dry finish. Overall : definitely missing malt character and as a result too agressive alcohol flavor. My opinion is that thay should lower alcohol to maybe 7,5% and add more/some Munich style malts. As a resume not a bad, but also not a good beer.
3.6 Sehr früchtiges und süßes Aroma, ebenso im Geschmack, wenn auch trocken beim Ende. Rote Farbe. Dünner Schaum, der sich schnell löst.
3.6 Maker: Privat-Brauerei Schmucker, Mossautal/Odenwald, Germany *** Beer: Schmucker Rosé Bock (bottled, 500ml) *** Style: Doppelbock *** ALC.VOL.: 8.0% *** "This genuine Doppelbock beer gets its rosé color from the use of special malts. Full-bodied, malty, mild. A unique beer in both color and taste. The Rosé Bock distinguishes itself by its wealth of flavours, its malty beauty and its roasted malt aromas." [brewery note, my translation] *** Colour: Bright copper colour, clear, with a big, fluffy off-white head. *** Nose: Caramel malts, red berries. *** Texture: Full-bodied, oily, modest carbonation. *** Taste: Caramel malts and alcohol are prominent at the start, red berries, some floral hop notes. Licorice in the middle, sweet malts, still some floral hop notes. Finish too is licorice, toffee. Mild, malty and slightly sweet aftertaste. *** Impressions: Very good Doppelbock, smoothly balanced and rich in flavour. A tiny wee bit alcoholic, as beers of this style generally are, but not annoyingly so.
2.9 (Bottle, 0.5 l - BB 21.05.16, from Alko, 20150904) The beer poured copper coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malt, molasses and caramel. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, metallicness, sweetness, molasses and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, grassy and bitter. The taste was too harsh but aroma was pretty good.
