4.2 Hazy golden color with white head, aroma of bananas, wheat, oak and caramel, taste of bananas, oak, caramel and vine, medium body, average carbonation.
3.6 750 ml 2017 bottle. Dark cloudy amber, foamy head. Grapefruit, orange peel, banana, citrus, tart even brett notes. Dry fruity bitterness, yeasty sweetness. Full bodied, oily creamy texture, lively carbonated, dry finish. Good!
3.3 Flaska. Medelkropp.
3.4 Bottle in Munich. Pours clear golden amber with a fizzy white head. Tastes like fruit, wheat, and grapes. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like grapes, bubbly, and wheat.
4.1 Beyond the wonderful banana bread and light sweet wheat aromas....I get a wonderful fruity and wine like nose that is exceptional. . Nice edge and depth of flavor.
3.4 Heller Weizenbock mit 7,3 % Alk, 16,8 % Stammwürze. Unpraktische 0,75 l Sektflasche. Sehr starke Schaumentwicklung. Hat was. Man sollte das einfach mal kommentarlos seinen Gästen in Sektgläsern servieren und kucken was passiert. Erwähnenswert: Ein Mindesthaltbarkeitsdatum von unglaublichen 5 Jahren!!!
3.3 0.33 draft @ Muranow Hazy, dark amber, with a small, white head. Very delicate weizen, citric aroma. Taste is sweet, malty, some wheat, bananas, spices. Medium, slick, average.
3.9 375mml. bottle as part of the «European Local Swap». @home. 19/07/2019. 2017 batch. Light orange colour with a medium white head. Aroma is wheat, soft banana and oak barrels. Taste is banana, oak, nuts and grains. A good weizenbock but maybe too old for the hops. Next one please!
3.6 Bottle @ Hotel Ibis, Munich. Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of wheat, light caramel, yeast, wet wood, oak, mild sourness, vinous, fruit, banana. Flavor is sweet, very lightly sour, wheat, oak, caramel fruit, light banana, little alcohol. Medium body, average to lively carbonation, sweet ligh tart finish. 060719
3.8 Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a crystal clear light amber colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, light sweet toffee caramel, vinous, light oak. The flavour is moderate bitter sweet, with a crisp fresh, mineral, sweet caramel, vinous, light dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation.
3.6 Pours a clear, light golden amber coloration with a huge, foamy head and slightly visible carbonation. Smell is quite hoppy for a Weizenbock, with little malt character showing through except for some light doughy, caramel malt, but being dominated by the Nelson Sauvin, with distinct notes of white grape and gooseberry, as well as lighter estery spice notes. Taste follows the nose, being a lot less malt-forward than you might expect of a Weizenbock, but with light doughy, very slightly caramelly malt and a distinct dry and hoppy white wine character with notes of white grape, gooseberry and just a hint of peach, straw and estery fruit/spice: apple skin, clove. Finishes quite dry, with a light bitterness and some white grape/gooseberry notes lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and medium/strong carbonation. This really has more in common with a Belgian Pale Ale than a Weizenbock in every way, be it looks, aromatics or taste, which makes it difficult to give this high marks rating to style. Still, it's quite an enjoyable brew in its own way, especially if you like Nelson Sauvin hops, which really shine through here with those typical dry, white grape/gooseberry notes. There's also some lighter estery fruit and spice notes of apple skin and clove to this though, which complement the Nelson Sauvin hops well and add a little depth. All in all, quite an intersting, enjoyable brew, although not what you might expect from it.
3.6 0.375 bottle, expiration 2023. Yellow gold hazy, great creamy head. Banana, sweet bready aroma. Nice sweetness on the tongue with spicy yeast hop background, perfectly balanced mouthfeel. Very good but I find it's a bit overpriced.
4.0 750ml bottle with mini-card, "2017 version" with expiry date 03.04.2022 bought at HKBWEX in Mong Kok. Looks: Cloudy hazy golden orange colour with a ring of dirt-like yeast sediments; One and a quarter finger head with soapy white foam which lasts for 90 seconds; Fair sticky lacing with active carbonation. Aroma: Very fragment malt, with white grapes, gooseberry, light white wine, floral, sugar, strong spices, sweet bread, lemon and fair grass. Taste: Mid to light sweet fair malt, with light white grapes, fair tartness, strong white wine, strong floral, light sugar, spices, bread, lemon, mid to fair bitter hops and grass. Body: Mid to full body. Dry and slick palate. Mouth Feel: Fairly good maltyness in a pretty rich background despite strong wheaty pleasance. Strong but subtle white wine and white grapes dominates, with tartness being dampened somewhat. Flowery with light sweetness, spicy bready with lemon to round. Very nice! Hoppiness: White grapes, gooseberry, light white wine, floral, strong spices, lemon and fair grass in nose, same in taste but stronger; Bitterness is fair for an abrupt, mid to light astringent wheaty malty finish. After Taste: Dry. Very white winey and fairly bitter to mouth. Comments: The Nelson Sauvin influence on this one is tremendous yet subtle: the white grapes and dry white wines are always luring in the background, so that you won't forget this is still a Weizen. The metamorphosis is near perfect. and I believe cellaring with improve it further. Highly recommended!
3.9 Bottle. Amber color with white head. Aroma is complex, malty, fruity, spicy with banana, grapes and white wine notes. Taste is malty with light bitterness with just a little tartness. It's also fruity with spices and white wine flavor. Overall it's very good and complex beer.
2.9 Faint signs of white fruitness with some notes of malts fleshed out with minimal banana. Taste is semi sweet with a lot of white grape, winish signs with a malty core and some banana in the background. Bit disappointment, weizenbock notes have drown away.
3.6 From the bottle. Orange with a foamy white crown that eventually fades completely. Aroma of wheat malts, bubblegum, banana, pear and Federweißer. Taste is sweet to bittersweet with a light vinous tartness that lingers at the finish. Medium body with soft carbonation, faint watery notes. Pleasant.
3.7 Color naranja, ligera turbidez. Dos dedos de espuma con buena retención. Aroma floral y miel. Cuerpo medio. Buenísima Weizenbock, original y completa.
3.8 Frothy white head stayed on a highly carbonated golden body. Fruity floral aroma with white wine. Medium bodied, lively on the palate with a clean dry finish. Grape, fruity, yeast & herbal tastes. Goes down way to easy & no indication of alcohol. Tremendous!
3.5 Big bottle, cloudy amber beer with short white head, smell is yeast dominated, light banana, taste is more caramel than banana but it’s good, fizzy carbonation, medium body, fresh, (I have 0.75l bottle with best-before 30.01.2023)
Brakuje ciała i gładkości. Ogólnie ciekawe piwa ale bez fajerwerków.
3.9 Bottle. Color: Orange golden, dense and stable white head. Aroma: Wheat, hop, hints of banana. Taste: Wheat, yeasty notes, hints of banana and spices. Medium sweet. Nice floral moderate to medium hopbitterness with fruity citrus, yellow fruit and green tea hints. Slightly sourish hints. Medium body, average carbonation. Very nice. Refreshing, sparkling, easy drinkable yet pretty complex.
3.3 Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (34B: 21A/10C). Bottle 75 cl - Batch unknown (BBF 03.04.2022). AROMA: medium to medium-high malt aroma (wheat) with slight maillard notes. low background of fruity hops. APPERANCE: dark gold color to light amber. medium ivory head, creamy, with good retention. TASTE: initial medium malt flavor (wheaty), followed by slight maillard notes (bread crust). low hop background with a white wine character (fruity). medium-low bitterness with an almost dry finish. PALATE: medium body with medium-high carbonation. slight alcohol warmth. OVERALL: a hoppy weizenbock where the hops are fading but still giving a subtle character. good nonetheless.
3.6 Appearance: 2017 edition. Orange, quite hazy. Some off-white head. Aroma: Light fruits, some hops and wheat. Taste: Some light fruits, wheat, some hops in there. Bought: Wittich, 375 ml, CHF 6.90 Info: 7/9-2018, BB: 3/4-2022
3.9 Vom Fass auf der Craft Bad Rappenau. Trüb gelb, hoher Schaum. Klassischer Hefe und Bananenduft. Recht frisch für einen Weizenbock. Süsslicher Antrunk. Kräuter, Banane, dann Muskatnuss und Zimt. Süffig.
4.0 Golden orange color with a foamy head. Real fruity (citrus - grapefruit) also a taste of yeast. Dry mild bitter and fruity finish. real tasty and refreshing Aroma
3.1 Bottle 37,5cl. Cloudy orange with a small white head. Malty aroma, a bit of caramel. Nice rich taste with a refreshing taste.
3.6 Draft at Tria Taproom. Cloudy greenish dark orange pour that started with an overflowing thick buttercream head. Gently sweet citrus florals off the top. Some herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium toasted caramel malts. Bruised lemons. Banana bread with orange marmalade. Kiwi. Mango. Gooseberry. Spruce tips. Medium-bodied. Fruitier, hoppier, and funkier than expected. Not your typical Weizenbock.
