3.7 Bottle drunk after late meetings until 9.30p, 1:1 compared with the Grünhopfen pils from the same brewery. Pale yellow gold, thin head. Mild grain nose, rounded profile. Flavor is dry, earthy-spicy, sharp grain profile, high but smooth bitterness. It doesn't have the same dry-white-wine (Hallertau Blanc) bite of the Grünhopfen version, and the aftertaste is much smoother and more pleasant than the seasonal variety.
3.9 Bottle at home, 16th January 2021. Pours a straw yellow beer, clear with a white head. Aroma is straw, fresh grass, light herbal. Taste is clean, biter, grass, hay, light herb, floral. Great pils
3.9 Clear yellow with a small white head. Dry grass, hay, dry flowers, citrus, herbal. Light body, little sweetness, firmly bitter. Long dry herbal finish.
2.7 Bottle delivered from House of Trembling Madness. String earthy bitterness, some minerals, resiny malt in finish. Not my thing as a pils goes.
3.7 Bottle from Cornelius. Clear golden body with a white head that holds well. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth, grass and raw potato. Flavour of grassy hops and a hint of peppery spice. Thin body with a light, slightly oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Fresh and grassy.
3.7 Bottle from The Curious Hop, Otley. Pours a light golden/straw colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of hay, grass, straw and lemon. Taste has more lemon and grassy hop bitterness.Lightish body, fair carbonation, slightly oily mouthfeel and a grassy finish. Nice refreshing Pils.
3.1 Copenhagen 12/9 2020. 50 cl bottle from Mikkeller Web-shop. Yellow label made out to look like old pergament with Schönramers coat of arms. Pours clear, pale yellow with a medium-sized, white head. Stable. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty odor of corn, cardboard and bread. Strong notes of fresh grass and citrus. A bit sharp. Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a bitter undercurrent. Semi-dry finish. A bit on the sweet side for a Pilsener.
3.7 Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. It pours clear very pale almost luminous yellow with a small white cap. The aroma is fresh and grassy, grainy and peppery, rope, straw and some white bread. The taste is crisp, firmly dry, clean, nice level of bitterness, peppery spice, hay and plenty of grass with a lingering bitter - dry finish. Average body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Really like the dryness and bitterness of this. Tastes nice and fresh.
3.7 Very clear yellow appearance with no head. Sweetness dominates and continues with a sweet aftertaste. A bit one dimensional but still quite pleasant.Excellent traditional label.
3.5 330ml bottle at home, Munich. Aroma is citrus, malt. Appearance is clear golden with a thick white foam. Taste is bitter. Soft to medium carbonation. Dry. Solid pils.
3.9 Very refreshing, bitter, hoppy and crispy pils. Very nice, one of the best traditional German pilsners around.
3.7 Clear straw yellow, tall white fluffy head. Aroma: neutral malts, hops that delivers nice lemony and piny malts. Light body. Taste: medium dry, very crisp. Malty start. Hoppy ending. Herbs, pine, lemon. Medium bitterness. A very nice pilsner.
2.8 Pretty good pils. Crisp with good barley presence. Golden pour with ok head. Snappy end. Tap at Churchkey.
3.1 Classic Bavarian Pilsener from the Private Landbrauerei Schönram, established in 1780. From tap at GIST in Brussels, thanks Tessa for sharing. Snow white, lacing, thick, mousy head, lightly misty apricot-tinged deep ‘old gold’, darker than average for the style. Aroma of sweet white bread pulp, flour, cold potato mash, fresh camomile and a vague whiff of DMS (cooked broccoli). Cereally-sweetish onset, very subtle pear-like fruity touch somewhere, fizzy carb, supple and quite soft and ‘full’ mouthfeel for the style, very lightly bready from the diffuse yeast suspension; touch of camomile-like floral hops in the end, but the bitterness remains very soft, with minerally and sweetish-grainy aspects lingering behind. Typical old school south German Pilsener indeed, with soft character and mild hop bitterness, much like the original Bohemian substyle; I would obviously prefer this over any mass-marketed industrial lager.
3.3 Aroma; pale malts, caramel, grass, herbs, spices. Look; fine good offwhite head, pale clear golden body. Taste; hay hops, grass, minerals, pale malts, spices, and finishes balanced, hops n malts. Feel; ok body n co². Overall; pilsnerish pilsner. [btl @im hauslicher Umgebung] 6373'14
2.5 Found it on the bitter side. A bit overboard on the hops, making it hard to get any subtleties.
3.0 5 August 2019. 50cl bottle provided by Maarten - many thanks! Best before: 21/5/19. Pours clear golden with a lasting, very thin, foamy, white head. Aroma of citrus, apple, bread, yeast & grain. Taste is medium malty sweet, notes of apple, bread & sweet yeast; soft grainy bitterness & citric sourness leading to a dryish finish that is yeasty & a bit fruity. Light to medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Decent Pilsener.
3.2 Bottle from Rauchbierlover. Clear golden appearance. Aroma is sweet, malt and grassy. Flavour is bitter, herbal, grassy, malt, sweet and hops.
3.4 Bottle (BB Sep 21, 2019). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain / bread), moderately hoppy (honeysuckle flowers, herbs). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A pretty darn solid rendition...nice aroma hops, clean, tasty. Could use a bit more finishing bitterness and a bit more aromatic pizzazz, but it's an easy-to-like quaffer.
3.0 Gold with a frothy to creamy white head that lingers. Herbal aroma with straw and cereal undertones, and a dash of peppercorn. Taste has that usual German pils bitterness, quite herbal, crisper than most though with no jarring notes. Solid malt backbone with bready undertones. Dry at the end. Better than most in the style, but the style is such that even a good example just doesn’t cut a buy again with me.
3.8 500 ml bottle poured a clear yellow with a lingering ring of white foam. Aromas of straw, graininess and noble hops. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, noble hops and light graininess with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.
3.4 Shared bottle. Pours a clear, golden color, with a medium, frothy, off-white head. The aroma is caramel, pine, strong floral notes, and resin. Sweet and syrupy, with a mild, pleasant bitterness. Light body, with a sticky, relatively thick palate. Pretty solid pilsener, if a little heavy.
3.6 24-04-19 // tap at Kaschk. Clear golden. White head. Classic and clean german Pils. Crispy, mild sweetish grain sweetness. Smooth. Balanced bitterness
4.0 Ar: Grassy, steely malt; herbal hoppiness, with minty accents; chalk and a bit of moss. Ap: Straw yellow and clear; medium white head with moderate retention, settling into a solid cap of foam and leaving some dashy lacing along the glass sides. T: Raw dough and grass; herbal and chalky; bitterness is high and clean; hop flavor is mossy and has hints of mint and black pepper; minerals and grainy, sweet malt; very clean fermentation profile, with just the slightest hint of gooseberry; finish is bitters, more chalk, and hay. P: Light body with very high carbonation; finish is bone dry. O: Excellent German pilsner; dry, bitter, and malty.

3.0 Klar, goldig, angenehm karbonisiert. Getreidig, Zitrus, floral. Ausgewogen bitter, süffig. Gutes Pils!!
