3.050 cl ceramic bottle @ home, BBE 02/2017
Aroma has sweet and heavy-ish banana tones. Also some caramel. Flavour starts with banana but turns soon into very odd bush leave tones (old hops?) and finishes with ashy & tobacco tones. Totally unexpected flavour by the aroma and even without it. Not sure what to think about this; drinkability is not high and the bush leaves disturb me – but still I find this somewhat interesting.
Oh yes, gotta agree with oh6gdx on this. The acidicness of white wine is clearly present in the flavour bouquet among all the smoky and ashy notes.
3.1Bottle. Very malty, very boozy with banana notes. Sweet in taste, oily with light bitterness in the finish.
3.3Heavy cloves, molasses, dark fruit and wheaty nose. Very low carbonation, very sweet, slightly cloying. Heavy. Ok. Alcohol well hidden. Aged four years and not bad.
2.3Age-old clay bottle, aged. . Milky yellow. Veggie, berry, apple, sulfur. Apple flavor, light citrus, minerals, raspberry - plenty of fruit salad, not harmonic though. Medium light, quite sticky, booze, not pleasant.
2.7(bottle, many thanks to jonas!) murky deep golden colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of coconut and peaches, with heavy notes of acetone, some vanilla, sugar icing and white bread. flavour is mostly mashed bananas, champagne yeast and alcohol, with a touch of prickly pear, bread dough and a slightly astringent finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.
2.2Best before 2011, with jfb and jonas. Hazy amber-orange color with white head. Aroma is typical Eisbock fruit salad, a bit oxidized. Taste is oxidized, fruits, booze. Slightly tart. Not very good.
4.7Foam is severely restricted, and it is of course due to its high alcohol content. The color is deep reddish brown and almost black. From the glass (which should be a glass with large surface, where the beer can release its flavors) increases estimate of dark caramel flavors, prunes and other heavy dried fruit. The taste is almost indescribable cascade of caramel, prune, plum, fig and also slightly sour green apple. A nice heavy and alcohol strong bock, which can be enjoyed in a quiet moment and like to share with others precisely because of its heaviness. Schorschbräu has managed to create a heavy and tasteful wheat bock that sets new limits on the beer type. I think it is very delicate and exciting experience that I would like to taste again if / when the opportunity presents itself. On the label it is recommended to be served ice-cold. I enjoyed at room temperature and I am sure is the best serving temperature - but conversely it will surely still have plenty to offer if it is cold. Hop bitterness is absent, but its other rich flavors need no hops to pull the aftertaste into a long aftertaste. I am very excited.

2.9Bottle 330ml @ home
Pours hazy reddish brown with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, plums, raisin, hint of smoke and sourness. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter and light sour with a long warm, malty and dried fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is flat.
2.8bottle. Brown pour, no head. Vineous aroma, grape, fruit. Medium sweet fruity taste, cough syrup, dry finish. Alcohol content is not terribly present noticeable except in the aftertaste.
3.5Courtesy of Jaghana.
1.7Bottle. Color dark brown with almost no head. Aroma sweet, fruits. Taste sweet, sour, fruits. Maybe infected.
2.8Shared bottle at home. Pours dark brown without head. Aroma of smoke, ripe fruit. Taste smokey-fruity. Only little sweetness, with smoke and fruit. The high alcohol content is not noticeable. Not good, not bad, but quite special beer.
0.5Infected, only sour plum aroma. Its very disappointing that breweries sticking to "Bugelflaschen" cannot pack the beer in sterile conditions.
2.9I had this bottle on my shelf for over a year as I was not really interested in drinking it at all. Opened it last night and although the pour looks like a glass full of un carbonation flood water it was an enjoyable brew. The nose is boozy and cereally with nice toffee and nutty aromas. The first sip is too sweet and malty with tons of toffee, caramel, pudding and hazelnut notes. A warm boozy finish with a lack of balance overall. Very rich flavour profile is the best attribute of this brew.
2.6Bottle in Frankfurt. It pours deep brown with a tiny beige head. The nose is raisin, sultana, toffee, dirt, booze, cocoa, bruised banana and wheat. The taste is tangy fruits, cherry, vinous, cola, alcohol hit, burnt brown bread, cough medicine, sticky sweetness, wheat, banana and dirt with a warming finish. Fullish body and fine, prickly carbonation. A bit rough around the edges. Like a boozy version of cough medicine. Odd.
3.1Bottle from Salling, Aarhus. Hazy very dark brown with a tiny off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, wheaty, caramel, dark fruit and alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Very sweet finish with warming alcohol. Somewhat sticky. 060414
2.6Dunkelbraunes Bier mit fast keinem Schaum. Geruch sehr stark alkoholisch fruchtig, stark malzig. Geschmack sehr fruchtig, Dörrobst, wärmend, alkoholisch.
3.6Ceramic bottle at home. Apperance: Clear dark brown, not much head. Aroma: Banana, sweet fruits. Palate: full body, malts, vinous, sweet, some alcohol.
3.1Bottle at home. Clear dark brown, a small off-white head. Aroma heavy malty (wheat, banana, sugar), alcohol. Flavor heavy sweet, dark fruit, banana, alcohol. Full body, light carbonated, lot’s of warming alcohol.
2.5Bottle @ Christers. Pours dark brown, just a ring of offwhite foam along the glasside, heavy lacings. Aroma of wheat, sweet fruity, banana, sugar. Flavor is very sweet with wheat, bread, sweet fruit, banana, heavy alcohol. Medium body, soft carbonation, warming alcoholic finish. 050214
2.7Bottle, 13%. Dark brown with tiny head. Aroma is malt, yeast, little dark fruit and caramel. Flavour is malt, sweet, caramel, little dark fruit, warming, cloy, alocohol and a little bitter.
2.9Uggggg........Oilers just let the tying goal in with one min left after scoring four straight in the third, I’m so sad now I’, just going to drink this from the bottle. Smells dark and heavy, apple, sweetness, honey, roasted banana, nothing horrible I guess. Taste is close to the same but the roasted banana is heavy. No trace of the 13% in the taste, however the stomach is feeling some heat. and this one going to a shootout! Banana bread, apple, brown sugar..... lots of winter baking in this one. No shortage of flavour. Eberle back hand up stairs scores. Perron again back hand scores! OILERS WIN!!!! Beer is average at best but dam drinkable.
2.8Weinig diepgang. Iets te veel alcohol. Ik mis iets fris.
alcohol,
Helaas kan ik niet meer noteren als deze rating. Dit komt doordat ik dit biertje te slecht vond om er meer over te kunnen noteren.
3.3Bottle 33cl a dark beer with low copper head. Nose is very malty and burnt caramel like. Aroma is again on caramel and concentrated grain, hay touch, grape skin notes, vinous, astringent, tannic, kind of wood notes, bit massive, alcohol notes, licorice, currant. Finish is vinous too with over-riped grapes notes, low wheat touch. Interesting but not that tasty, need to be a bit more sweet on my point of view.
2.6330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with late awakening, small, micropore creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, off-white head, leaving a thin layer. Sweet fruity aroma has notes of red berries, especially strawberry, some milk chocolate, a touch of cherries. Taste is initially minimally sweet and slightly dry fruity, hints of cherries, later additionally dry to bitter, a touch of yeast, heavy hints of alcohol; oily palate. Absolutely exaggerated, meaningless, even moronic approach to reach a pubertal goal.
3.1Bottle from Kiley + Mike. Very dark, no head. Aroma is raisins and so much smoke. Really, a ton of smoke. Body pretty thin, there is also a hint of a lacto-like tartness, perhaps this has suffered with age. As with the bock, I like the novelty, but definitely not an every day drink.
