3.0500ml bottle thanks to Erzangel for another Schwelm beer. Very attractive mid chestnut colour with lasting thick beige head. Not as good as the Vormann Alt I had earlier. It’s ok, yes, some sweetish basic malts. Not much hop. Mind you anything is better than the Washington Redskins defence this season. Apart from London Fletcher, I think I sack the rest of the defensive squad. Bit of toast on the aroma. Some decent malts. It’s an ok alt, some decent toffee malts.
3.4Bottled, TNX Ulf! Alt amber color with rather thin head light beige head. Sweet malty nose. Aroma has sweet malts. Flavour is caramel malts with a wooden hint. Soft malt aftertaste.
3.1Shared bottle courtesy of Gunnar.
Clear amber with a light brown film.
Dried fruits and malts in the aroma along with a metallic hint.
Clean roasted hoppy flavor. Metallic, bitter, sweet. Some tobacco in there and a touch of acidity. Light to medium body, Flatish.
3.0Bottle from Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam. Pours murky amber with a small tan head. Aroma of bready malts, taste is much the same with some caramel as well. Thin mouthfeel to be an Alt.
3.9Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is nutty, sweet maltyness, and some earth cellar. Flavour is caramel malts, crystal malts, some mild nutty notes as well as some mild wood. Very pleasant and actually gets better when it gets closer to room temperature.
2.9Bottle 500ml. Aroma:Fruity, caramellic, chocolate, bread. Appearance: brown, clear, ok head. Taste: quite sweet, ok bitterness.
3.2Pop-top @ Rudat, Dortmund-Oespel, Germany. Pours a ruby-with brown hints and a medium-small head. Decent lacing. Nose is a bit thin, I think that hurts this beer. Malts, grain and brown sugar. Taste is certainly better. Dark roasted malts, nuts, some brown sugar, a little spice and a far amount of bitter hops. Would be on par with the Dusseldorf Alts if it did not have such a salty finish. Still, decent, very decent, fare.
3.3True to style and pleasantly hoppy in the finish, great alt. Bit thin, but comes with the stlye, duh.
3.2Hazelnut pour with a nice white head. Earthy, mossy aroma. Toasted malt sweetness as well. Flavor of raisins, brown sugar, a little cardboard, a little roast. Decent mouthfeel. A middle of the road, or maybe slightly above average alt.
2.9500ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, dried leaves, cardboard, and bread. Poured very deep amber/ruby/light mahogany in color with a tiny, off-white head that lasted around the edges only. Clear. Not sparkling. A few small particles. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of malt, fruit, light caramel, dried leaves, and bread. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Light to medium sweet malt, dried leaf, and bread finish.
2.8Pours copper with a beige head. Aroma is heavy breaddy malt, light hop. Flavour is heavy malt, light bitter and light hop.
2.911.2 Fl. oz bottle from Mesa. Big pop from swing top bottle but vigorous pour offered almost no head. Tiny haze of lace. Cola brown with red tints. Nose big and sweet. Raisins and rum and vanilla. Taste has some caramel and cola with a light bitterness in back. Eh.
3.0Bottle, 50cl. Pours a clear, dark amber beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is malt, sweetness and some caramel. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is sweet. Overall an average to good beer.
2.5Gusher. Copper with a small off-white head. Dusty aroma of malt with some caramel notes. Dry and malty with a dusty touch.
2.850cl Bottle. Pours dark amber with a small creamy head and lacings. Nose & taste is very bready and sweet with some caramel and yeast on top. Medium bodied. OK

3.5500 ml bottle. From Germany (bierzwerg.de).
Clear dark reddish brown colour with big frothy sand head.
Dry aroma with sugar, caramel, chocolate, hops and alfalfa.
Sweetish flavour with chocolate, caramel, dust and lots of dry hops.
Soft carbonation. Rather good Altbier.
3.4(bottle) pours a clear copper colour with a frothy white head. aroma of toasted malts, dark fruit and strawberries, with a touch of herbal hops. flavour is mostly dark fruit and strawberries, with a light metallic finish. medium body and carbonation.
3.2Dark red-brown with no head. Aroma is very sweet and sugary, with a hint of fruit. Flavor is not bad, but definitely too sweet. Not much bitterness or hop character going on. Flat on the palate. I bet the bottle is to blame for the flatness, I’m not sure why they use that rubber stopper. I’m sure this would be a great beer if the used a properly sealed bottle, and aged it a bit to ferment out some of the sugar.
3.3Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of pivnizub. Surprisingly dark. Good head retention. Interesting malty aroma of hay, banana, coconut, raisin, figs and arabic gum. Malty taste. Low bitterness. A lot of coconut showin up again. Nice lacework. Late bitterness. Good balance. Residual sugars, caramel and coconut in the finish. A pleasant Alt. Thanks pivnizub!
2.4Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is malt, caramel, dried fruits. Flavour is malt, caramel, dried fruits, hop. Medium body. Boring beer.
3.0Bottle. It’s a clear, dark brown beer with a diminishing, creamy, two-finger beige head. Caramel, dried fruits and some faint notes of cellar in the aroma. Nice but a bit weak. Dried fruits, raisins mostly, caramel and roasted notes in the mouth. Silky, medium body. Caramel in the finish. Overall it’s a quite decent beer, caramel driven, but not very interesting. Get’s a bit one-dimensional. 090707
2.6I did not have my beer out of the swing-top bottle, but instead it was out of the stubby bottle. Body was a medium-dark brown cloudy color with a scan off-white head. Aroma is mostly caramel malts with a thin dark fruit character. Body is a touch off with a watered down raisin/caramel flavor. Nothing really special about this one.
3.3Swingtop 0,5ltr: An good decent tasty Altbier with its dark brown colour with hints of caramel.

3.0Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head one finger thick. Malty caramel with some graininess, citrus accents and light fruity esters. A dry malt character and a thin lingering bitterness to boot.
3.5Bottle, not bad altbier, taste is caramel with bitter aftertaste, pretty good, but will try something else next time
3.1Dark brown coloured beer with little carbonation and a small brown head. Malty roasted strong herby sweeter special aroma. Full sprankling palate. Finish is bitter malty, caramel touched, sweet bitter near the end. Medium one.
3.2Bottle: Last one in San Diego trip, malty and sweet with hoppiness and soft bitterness. Smokey.
