3.0Bottle, 5.2%. Mild banana aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Big stable off-white head. OK banana flavour, slightly sweet. Low to medium bitterness. Yeasty aftertaste. OK refreshing.
3.4From a bottle poured hazy golden color with a fair amount of head. Nice banana spicy flavor with a quick finish.
3.0Pours a dark yellow with white head. Fruity aroma, some citrus and yeast. Flavor pretty much matches the aroma. Light bodied, enjoyable Hefeweizen.
3.6Pours opaque yellow-orange with a quickly disappearing white head. Yeast and wheat spice aroma. Taste is wheat with some tartness. Overall a good clean and refreshing beer.
3.5Sampled at the Impromptu Butter’s 6th cellar clearance. Hazy bright yellow pour with golden highlights and wispy white head. Nose of lemon citrus, clove, pepper. Flavors of lemon, spice, and some yeast. Very good for the style. Good carbonation with some creaminess. One of the better german hefe’s i’ve had.
3.2Pours a white head with a hazy golden body. Smells of bubblegum, clove, and some banana. Tastes the same. Smooth body. Enjoyed drinking this.
3.0Good sized bright white head of fine bubbles. Minimal carbonation. Light grassy and fruity aroma. Some white grape, bananas and some tomato. Pretty sweet smelling. Color is a hazy golden orange. Flavor is sweet and not much in the way of wheat. More light grape and lemon. Bit of spices also. Finishes sweet again with some lingering fruit. A very unusual hefewezen.
2.6Bottle. The white large creamy head stays relatively long, the body is clear and dark yellow. The aroma is sweet, light fruity, reminds me a little bit of an sweet cake, rather unusual for a Weizen. The taste is light sour and mild. The beer is light, creamy and with not much carbonation.
2.8Bottle. Pours a yellow orange body with a white head. Fruity bananas, lemon zest, a note of bubblegum. Thin mouthfeel with some malt and wheat. Light spiciness. Eh so so.
3.6(bottle - 500 ml fliptop) Cloudy golden pour with a thick and foamy white head. Aroma is light and sweet. Some wheat and yeast but tons of tropical fruit. Bananas abound followed by a very light hint of clove and orange peel. Almost smells like a banana popsicle. Flavor has much of the same sweetness mixed with a very nice and spiced wheat middle. Cloves and allspice are present in the middle with a fruity and yeasty finish. Clean and lightly spicy.
3.5A quite delicious german hef from the mother land. It pours a cloudy hazey lazy golden colour with a medium size white head with decent froth and intriquite lacing down the glass. Banannas, green apple, clove, orange peel on the nose. Soft spice on the palate, tropical fruit- reminds me of runts.
3.3Always enjoy seeing the bottles with these funky tops. Bob shared his bottle at the super bowl. Very nice cloudy appearance, thick white head. Egg and banana nose. Sharp sour palate, some bananas. Decent.
2.8Aroma is awesome on this one. Bubblegum and must, just like a GHef should be. Appearance is almost grey - strange. Pours with tons of fluffy head. Flavor is a strange mix of diactyl and sugar. Not the greatest Hef.
3.1Applesauce color with a white head that has decent retention. Some spice in the aroma with some banana and earth. Not a lot of flavor here but some clove and yeast. A bit of earthiness and some bread. It warmed well and smoothed out as it did so. This beer is crisp and refreshing. Flavors are not big but are enjoyable. It would be a great beer to sip on a hot summer day.
3.8Cloudy golden color with nice white head. Aroma of banana and a bit of spice. Bit of bread in there but banana is the dominate. The clove is in the background with this one but still there. I like the banana front on hefes so this works. Very nice.
3.7Pours a cloudy golden hue with a frothy white head. Aromas of banana, clove, bread and more banana. Mouth feel is medium bodied with a lingering finish. Flavors of the same as the aroma with a hint of ginger and a light sweetness. Very refreshing. I normally don’t like adding fruit with beer but a slice of citrus fruit would compliment this one well.
3.1Bottle. Pretty sweet flavor, with hints of banana and bubble gum. Strong wheaty aroma and smooth mouthfeel. Pretty good, but maybe just a little too sweet.
4.0Golden color with lots of clouds from the yeast. Really citrusy smell up front with lots of undertones of sweet fruit. The flavor is crisp and a lot like banana laffy taffy.....maybe a tad on the sweet side. Great mouthfeel for a hefe, really fizzy and almost burns like a great soda. German hefe’s are really under rated on this site, and it makes me really sad.
3.4Wheaty blonde, lightly hazy, with ring of head. Crisp aroma of wheat, light malted grain, and some wheat sourness, very little yeast or phenols. More reminiscent of an American Wheat. Flavor is a refreshing, flavorful mild banana wheat. Crisp and light on the palate. Very pleasant and delicately flavored.
3.5Aroma is strong and wheaty with a "rubbery" undertone. Color is a somewhat cloudy straw yellow, and the white head does not hang around for long. Flavor is mouth-filling, richly wheaty with a hint of citrus. Texture is very smooth and pleasant. Not complex, but refreshing and summery.
3.6bottle, color is cloudy golden with typical hefe head, lacing is nice, aroma of banana and clove, flavor is sweeter bananam clove an juicy fruit gum , finish is mellow
4.0So good! This is further proof that hefeweizens are heaven. It’s aroma is full of that yeast aromas, bubblegum and banana scents. The appearnce is that glowing gorgeous neon yellow-white, with a fluffy white head, gorgeous!!! It’s flavor is extrodinary, it’s like breathing wet air, it’s so full of that yeasty banana flavor, and with such developed wheat bodies, that it’s just like drinking a smell. It’s so tasty and smooth, it’s perfect. I think I could drink this for the rest of my life and never be disappointed.
4.2Inverted the bottle and swirled the goodness around before opening. Result is a very cloudy beer. Could smell the typical weisse aromas immediately from a couple feet away. Color is an unusual amber with brownish tan "lowlights". Sweet at first wtih those same typical weisse flavors but with lingering banana. Not too sweet. Refreshing finish. Great session beer.
