It offers a finely wooded nose hinting at hazelnut, and is therefore distinct from traditional British scotches. It has a more rounded taste letting a discreetly full-bodied bitterness come to the fore, and will naturally seduce you.

330ml bottle at Gambrinus, Bruges on 27/07/2010. A really tasty beer, with loads of smooth nutty, malty and dried fruit notes on the nose. Big body and complex flavour profile. Sweet, but not sugary or saccharine.

W aromacie genialne toffee, karmel i orzechy, w smaku gównie genialne toffee, orzechy, ciasteczkowość. Na podniebieniu niezwykle gładkie, praktycznie bez wysycenia, leciutko goryczkowe na finiszu, choć piwo ogólnie słodkie (w bardzo przyjemny sposób). Niezwykle intensywne piwo, które wydobywa wszystko co najlepsze z karmelowego słodu, i angielskiego chmielu.

Botella de 33cl @ Bierwinkel Valencia. Color cobrizo, espuma color marfil y con buena retención. Aromas a toffee, frutos secos, higos secos. En boca es ligeramente ácida, final dulce. Notas a caramelo tostado, cereal, frutos rojos.
This is an awesome beer, definitely reminds me of those strong dark scotch ales. Super fruity on the nose. Nice mouthfeel, not too boozy for Belgium. A beer on the re buy list. It's up there with the greats. If you like sweet strong darks your like this. One of my favourite belgian beers.
It seduced me. Malátás csábítás. Kis fűrészport vélek felfedezni benne, de a jó értelembe. Olyan istállóban érlelt viszkiszerű. Egy kiló alkohollal. Sötét szárított gyümőcsök. De fűrészpor leginkább. Mintha csak egy asztalosműhelybe lett volna az istálló.
Barwa brązowa z rubinowymi refleksami, klarowne. Piana średnia, dość szybko się redukuje.
W aromacie toffi, suszone owoce - głównie daktyle, figi, brzoskwinie.
W smaku słodkie, są przyprawy, owoce, karmel, słód, melanoidyny.
Ciało średnie, wysycenie średnio-wysokie.
Całkiem dobre.
Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Hazy amber body with an off-white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of toffee and dried leaves. Flavour of caramel and brown sugar. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Sweet and moreish. A treat.

Taste is sweet, candi sugar, caramel, dark fruit. Body is medium, carbonation soft. Very nice wee heavy that I think is wronged by the ratings.
Color marrón rojizo, sin turbiedad pero con levadura en suspensión que precipita rápidamente, translúcida. Espuma marfil, cremosa, de tres dedos de espesor y excelente retención. Aroma a frutos rojos, vinoso, debe atemperar para notar maltas ligeramente tostadas, notas a frutas pasas e higos. Sabor en esa línea, con un principio ligeramente ácido que se relaja enseguida para llegar a un final levemente amargo y seco, alcohol bien integrado. Textura acuosa y ligeramente oleosa. Carbonatación media baja
Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is dark malt with caramel, toffee, some molasses, dried fruits, dates, raisins, figs, brown sugar. Flavour is rather sweet with a light to moderate bitterness. Body is medium. Quite sweet, some rich malts, nice.

330ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy red-brown with lots of yeast particles in suspension and a small, creamy, long lasting, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of toasted caramel malt, toffee, fig, date, wood and light alcohol. Sweet flavour of toasted caramel malt, Belgian candy sugar, Belgian spicy yeast, fig, date, wood and light alcohol in a mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. More of a Belgian Dark Ale, but still a good beer.

Warka: gdzieś w 2018, pite 1.6.2019. W aromacie słodowo, karmelowo ale dość przyjemnie o dziwo :) W smaku słodko, karmelowe, z bakaliami, głównie z rodzynkami, skórką od chleba i lekką ziołową goryczką. Całkiem fajnie mi się piło to piwo, a na do dadatek alkohol był fajnie ukryty. Trochę taka uboższa wersja barley wine, ale nie taka ciężka. W sumie nuda ale przyjemna.

Dobrý scotch, ale na můj vkus až přespříliš sladký! Jinak ale tóny piva karamelové, sladové. Doznívání rovněž sladšího charakteru.

Beautiful very deep maroon pure color. Its head has a large hole, is huge when filled, and then fades quickly - probably also due to high alcohol. Belgian aroma, slightly alcoholic, but also malty and even tiny hops, but also cognac and caramel notes. Taste raisins, burnt sugar, cognac, base with some icipici hop bitterness. Malt roasting cost, very complex taste - even in addition to its strength. Full-bodied, delicious dessert beer!

Gyönyörű nagyon mély gesztenyebarna tiszta szín. Habja nagy lyukú, kitöltéskor hatalmas, majd gyorsan apad - valószínűleg a magas alkohol miatt is. Belga ale- illat, kicsit alkholos, de maláta, sőt még pici komló is érződik, de konyakos, karamelles ilatjegyek is. Ízre mazsolás, égetett cukros, konyakos, alap némi icipici komlós keserűséggel. Malátás pörköltség, nagyon komplex íz - az erőssége mellett is. Testes, finom desszert sör!

From the bottle. Brown with a creamy, light beige crown. Aroma of banana, toffee, a bit earthy. Taste is sweet up front, tart near the end with a lingering berry sourness. Is it supposed to be this tart or is it beginning to go off? Undertones of wood and vanilla. Body is medium, carbonation is soft. Not bad really but unusual for a Scotch Ale
