3.0 Resinous and citrus orange aromas. Cloudy orange in color with white fading foam. Moderate bitterness without being bright. Heavy hop flavor.
3.0 Bottled. Orangey pour. Kinda skunk some grapefruit and citrus. Pretty inoffensive ipa
3.9 Bottle: Served in a shaker: Large fluffy head. Hazy orange amber body. Aroma of hops, malts, fruit like peach, apricot and some grapefruit, light floral... Flavour is nice bitter and hoppy with grapefruit and floral tones. Bitter floral fruity aftertaste. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, good medium bodied.
3.2 13th February 2016 Hazy gold - amber beer, good bubbly cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and mildly crisp. Smooth malts, touches of sweet cream and tangy caramel. Floral bitterness that is getting toward harsh. A little orange peel, well buried. Light semi dry finish. Floral bitter linger. A fairly harsh IPA, like an Imperial Bitter.
3.4 12 fl oz bottle from Bier Huis. Orange amber colour, white foam head leaving some lacing and tropical fruit & citrus aroma. Taste is malt caramel, some biscuit, with tangy citrus grapefruit and grassy, earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry lingering grassy bitter finish. Quite OK.
2.6 Bottle from deeside drinks emporium. Pours a clear brown with little head. Not much aroma. Slight peppery orange. Flavour has the bitter hop taste but a very bland flavour. Again peppery. Expecting a hoppy bad boy with the name gale force IPA. More like a weak breeze IPA.
3.1 Bottle. Golden, hazy, average to large and mostly diminishing head. Moderate malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish aroma, some caramel - light bread and light tropical/floral fruitiness, light - some citrus hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light - some caramel and light tropical/floral fruitiness with light - some grapefruit/ citrus hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel - faint bread and faint fruitiness with light - some citrus/grapefruit hoppynes, Too much caramel - too little bitterness and fruitiness. OK but really nothing special - lacks character.
3.1 355ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey, deep golden colour with small to average, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy and minimally piney, hoppy aroma, notes of orange, tangerine, grapefruit, caramel malty background. Taste is tart-ish bitter hoppy, grassy, strawym slightly mineral and minimally medicinal, biscuity, pale malty background. Unconvincing.
3.3 355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours amber with a thick white head. Aromas of marmalade, quite sweet taste, caramel. Quite fruity on the finish
3.3 Bottle from Deeside Drinks Emporium. Hazy amber body with a thin white head. Light fizz. Faint lacing. Aroma of marmalade and orange peel. Flavour of grapefruit and earth. Thin to medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Not bad, a bit musty.
3.3 Bottle from hop hideout, Sheffield. Amberish with a good white head. Aroma is bready and hoppy. Taste is bitter and clean. Tingly and a bit watery. OK beer.
3.5 Bottle from Stirchley Wines via Sarkynorthener cheers Martin; hazy amber pour with a thin white head, aroma has citrus and some sweet caramel, taste has sweet malts, some peach, citrus, grapefruit and caramel.
3.5 Bottle, pours pale gold with a light haze and a decent head. Zesty lemon upfront, bitter Seville orange marmalade, honey malts, light medium body with a full long, bitter ending. Soft carbonation.
3.1 Bottle. Nose of light caramel and strong orange marmalade (striking!) with lighter greens and wood. Pours hazy orange with a too-large and excitable dense beige head. Taste medium bitter but really smacks with dense carbonation and a high degree of mineral flavor (think bottled mineral water). Generally clean with a little wheat/caramel like flavor on a slime, bitterness turns a leafy green with light resin and the minerals turn a bit too salty. Touch of cookie. Medium body but the carbonation bumps it up a notch. Lightly sweet, bit drier in the aftertaste. Touch of alcohol showing but barely, some interesting dark toffee flitting about the bottom after the citrus very quickly recedes. Overall very fresh, but also raw. [2015.11.02: 3.1]
3.5 Draught at Big Beer Step event. Clear amber with decent lacing. Grassy, resin aroma. Fairly bitter, not very exciting but okay.
2.7 bottled - super foamy head (think it’s an old bottle). Nice orange color. Decent hop flavor. Light.
3.1 Bomber. Clear golden amber pour, with a white head. Pine, caramel, fairly bitter, notes of citrus, bread, and some (honey) sweetness. Ok, but too much malt for my liking in an IPA.
3.5 From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear gold with a massive off white head. Fruity nose. Flavors of citrus and resin. Light bitter finish.
3.0 Bottle poured a clear amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, candied orange and pink grapefruit. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, orange zest and light grapefruit with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.
2.6 12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy Amber color. Massive rocky beige head. Spicy toasted malt nose has notes of cinnamon and caramel. Slightly tart bready toasted malt flavor. Some spicy bitterness upfront. Seems unbalanced and in disarray. Not an atypical IPA.
3.4 Caramalt, toffee, cinnamon. Dark malt, dry fruit, honey, cake, green hops, orange chocolate, dry bitter finish. Interesting one, quite malty and cookie-forward with subdued hops (96 ibu???)
3.2 Bottle (5.25%) from Grocery Outlet. Medium amber in color. Lightly sweet nose with an earthy sort of hop character to it. Bready up front with a pretty strong grapefruit peel finish. A little bit of an earthy English hop character as well. Not a real hoppy IPA. Almost more of an esb or something.
2.9 (Bottle) Eh, it’s okay I guess, but nothing special. I wouldn’t recommend it. Oh well.
3.6 Pours a slightly hazy coppery gold color with off-white head. Floral notes, some pine and citrus on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with some nice hoppy resinous tones.
3.2 12oz bottle in Seattle. Juicy hop aroma, Hazed brown. Smoky-malt backbone, warm brown ale with clean sweet pine hops. Juicy body with bittering finish. Pretty standard but nice.
3.6 Pours a gold/honey color with decent lacing and minimal head retention. Tastes slightly bitter and malty. Mild hops and a solid beer.
3.1 i get more pine than citrus in this one, though both are present. i was a little alarmed at the low abv, but it turns out it doesn’t matter. the beer seems at least relatively fresh, and has quite a bit of flavor...pine, oak, quite malty too with some honey-esque sweetness. aroma tends a little malt heavy for an ipa imo, but it still works. a pleasant all around beer, well balanced."
5.0 well well well. Another that people don’t give it’s due. Well fuck all of you!!! Please forgive me for that. But a 77 rating pissed me off. This beer is a thing of beauty, a masterpiece! So rich and complex. A true sipper.
3.6 12oz bottle, from Brennan’s in Madison. Picked up during my stay for GTMW. Lot # on bottle reads 8140602. Mostly hazy orange color. Pours with a finger of off-white / khaki head. Leaves good rows of lace. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of creamy light carbonation. Light slick finish. Nice texture to it, and more full-bodied than expected for a lighter IPA. Good mild orange citrus hop aroma, light pine, resin and spice. Kind of a woodsy flavor profile to it, lightly herbal, which I dig. Light caramel malt. Moderate plus bitter taste, moderate sweet. Great, balanced lighter but full-flavored IPA. Nice complex unique direction they took with the flavor, and it works.
2.8 Bottle - A thick head, amber color. Hop flavor all around this one. While it does have a good strong hop flavor, I wouldn’t call it very strong. Not a beer I could drink a lot of but certainly a good change of pace. Got it in a large format bottle so it was perfect for sharing with my wife.
