Scuttlebutt Porter

Scuttlebutt Porter

Our creamy porter is ideal for the dark beer connoisseur. It has a lightly roasted flavor with hints of chocolate and peat. A smooth finish and superb balance make it enjoyable going down. The secret to this beer is the extra aging. Even those just getting started with darker beers enjoy this one

3.4 Took me a while to get through it for some reason - maybe I was off. Quite a thin porter with a decent blend of liquorice, coffee, stewweggdss caasdfbsgj, mfdzdgmbdaadgh,,
3.4 Bottle, Brewdog Leicester. Very dark brown with a thin head. Toffee and raisins with lemon. Gritty dark chocolate. Woody with earthy coffee and funky tart berries. Musty yeast. Spicy finish. Unusual porter.
2.1 Bottle @Home (Ryder Cup Day 1 2016 tasting). Pours black tan head. Nose is tart, funk, candy and vinegar, this is obviously wrong. Yep this has gone, ther is a slight sweetness at first then a tart, funky vinegar comes along. Will try to get another bottle.

4.1 Bottle from Firma Bier at 5.5% ABV, 12 oz bottle batch 261(?), large sample. Dark brown color, medium frothy head. Aroma of fruity and earthy hop, lactic notes, roasty, licorice, dark fruit, bit funky bubblegum. Roasty bitterness in taste, slight salty licorice, funk, fruity bubblegum. Bit dry and roasty in the finish, togethr with some salty licorice candy. Didnt expect a Bretty porter, but it feels quite balanced. Tasty.
3.6 A deep dark porter with a very thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light caramel notes, light coffee grind, musty character, resinous hops, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light butterscotch, nutty notes, light grassy hops, light mineral notes, silky mouth feel, nice.
3.7 Отличный портер, горжусь им. Возможно, могли и круче, слишком мягко получилось, но и так зашибись!
3.5 355ml bottle, Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of coffee, roast malts, dark chocolate. Taste is sweet chocolatey, roasted malts, milky coffee, and a mildly bitter aftertaste. Quite a nice porter.
4.1 Bottle. Average carbonation. Typical porter aroma. Slightly sweet, prominent burnt coffee flavor, with secondary chocolate flavors. Bitter finish. Overall above average flavor porter.

3.5 Bottled (thanks hermod!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is nutty, toasted and some floral notes. Flavour is toasted notes, mild nuts and some toffee with mild floral notes.
3.4 355ml bottle @ Vaasa sessions. From Firmabier. Pours near black color with a thin off white head. Roasted malty aroma, ash, strong woody notes. Flavor has sweetness, milky notes, coffee. Thin body but quite nice overall.
3.4 355ml bottle. Darkest brown, quasi black colour with average to huge, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, peaty, dark malty aroma, hints of tar, crude oil, smoked eel, dark chocolate. Taste is roasty dark malty, minimally peaty, hints of tar, dark chocolate, a touch of cold charcoal; rather light and almost a bit watery.
3.8 Nice dark color with a decent white head that lasted nicely. Aroma was of roadted coffee and dark chocolate. Taste was similar. Milk chocolate with a touch of espresso. Well balanced and finished
3.6 Cloudy brown color. Nice cacao and brownies in the nose. Rich mouth full of brownies, with a fair amount of nuttiness. Slightly bitter but the Mouth is a bit thin. Still nice depth.
2.9 Bottle (5.5%) from Grocery Outlet. Black in color upon pouring. Sweet and roasty nose with a bit of a sour twang to it. Some roast with a bit of a sour cider like flavor. Not really the sort of thing I like in a porter. Has some good roast in the finish. A little more carbonated than I like for the style as well. Very average at best.
3.4 On tap at Seattle Tap house SEA. Dark reddish brown with a small khaki head that leaves some lace. Nose is muted chocolate with light vanilla, molasses, and some earth. Flavour is a little more pronounced with light sweet chocolate fronting a medium bitterness. Mouth is medium light and creamy but finishing dry.
3.6 A relatively standard American Porter. Sweet with chocolate and light roasted malt profile. Well brewed and quite enjoyable.
3.9 Terrific porter! Strikes that elusive balance between smooth and strong, coffee and chocolate, malty and hoppy (more malt).
3.8 (Bottle) Good porter! Very chocolately and smooth without any astringency or bitterness. It’s a bit thin, and maybe too "simple", but otherwise good!
3.3 Poured from a bottle. Full marks on head (thick, long lasting), and color. Lacing was just average. Flavorful aroma, better than the taste. Coffee bean, chocolate, creamy, a bit chalky on the tongue.
3.8 Draft at GABBF: Poured a black with tan head. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. Taste was milk chocolate, coffee bean, and roast malts. Very nice blend of sweet and roast.
3.3 22oz bottle. Pours black with a big chunky head that diminishes slowly. Pretty beer. Roasty and a bit bitter. Not as smooth or polished as the Blackstone Oatmeal that preceded it. Certainly drinkable, but a little rough around the edges.
3.5 On tap at Empire Ale House, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out nice notes of cocoa, light roast and a touch of coffee. Flavour is quite roasted for a porter, with secondary notes of dry cocoa. Quite robust and full-flavoured despite being rather light on the palate. Very nice stuff.
3.3 Very bitter for a porter, roast grains bringing some stout like bitterness, almost black body supports a fluffy beige head. Burnt toast aroma leads into full on roast bitterness, overall body belies somewhat watery mouth feel.
