Revival of one of Antwerp’s original historical Ale, that dates back to the 17th century, brewed as local style by dozens of breweries and disappeared during WWI. Brewed with Buckwheat, oats, wheat and barley, Belgian hops and the retrieved historical ale. Bottled unfiltered after a 7 week aging and maturation, with a second fermentation in the bottle.
Winner of Gold Medal/ title World’s Best at World Beer Cup 2012, World Beer Cup 2013-2014-2015, Global Craft Beer Awards 2014 and Brussels Beer Challenge 2015.

3.9 This beer has a yeasty aroma. A nice sour and alcoholic flavour. You can perceive the maltiness texture of this beer.

2.7 Flesje geprobeerd met familie. Het is een licht troebel goudgeel met een medium witte schuimkraan. De geur en smaak van mout en gist. Smaak is snel weg.

3.3 Bottle. A cloudy blond beer with a white head. Aroma of lemon pudding, dough, spices. All a bit Wit-like but the taste is less sweet, cleaner and hoppier. Some banana as it warms a bit. A little bitter as well as clove and white pepper spicy at the end. It's refreshing and as someone down the page says, a bit hefe meets saison.

3.0 Sympathique bière, mais sans plus. Goût commun. Pas une surprise malheureusement !

3.0 Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are yeast, malt, bread, hops, fruits and has a sweet yeasty malty finish.

3.6 Very nice blond beer. Despite the relatively low alcohol percentage it's quite full and complex. Hazy yellow colour. Fruity smell, bananas and apricots. Beautiful full, smooth and peachy fruity taste. Some hints of banana and vanilla. Some herbs and light hoppy bitterness. Well balanced. Slightly dry finish. A good one.

3.7 Robe blond trouble, mousse correcte. Nez frumenté, agrumes (citron) et pointe de fleur. Attaque équilibrée: rondeur légère et notes de céréale, agréable notes citronnée, grain, tout en restant très léger. Facile à boire et agréable.

3.4 Bottle. Malty aroma and taste, belgian yeast, wheat, spicy notes, light sour notes, light to medium bitter. Medium body, malty yeasty bitter finish. Ok.

2.7 Délicieusement rétro, cette bière historique d'Anvers me donnait très envie en cette belle journée d'été. Versée trouble dans mon beau verre tulipe Chouffe, mousse blanche généreuse qui disparait assez vite, couleur qui tire sur un blond orange léger façon abricot plutôt racoleuse. Le nez fait la part belle aux malts et aux céréales avec de belles exhalaisons de caramel fin, de balle de blé, de noisette et de noix, de pain viennois, de châtaigne. Ce breuvage a l'air assez finement houblonné avec des notes d'agrumes (orange, mandarine, pamplemousse) et un côté poivré/mentholé rafraichissant sur des notes de pomme verte. En général, cette bière rappelle un peu une blanche bien travaillée, en particulier avec ces notes de céréales qui dépassent très largement le cadre de l'orge simple. En bouche, belle carbonatation, texture souple, corps moyen, un peu sur l'eau sur le final, houblonnage très, très léger avec une amertume aux abonnés absents, alcool en accord avec le reste et pas trop fainéant, levures qui ont de la mâche, pas trop de sucres. Le problème est qu'au niveau aromatique, elle est assez limitée en bouche alors qu'au nez elle révèle bien plus de caractère. Cette bière possède par contre un côté très désaltérant avec sa carbonatation vive qui rappelle quelques eaux gazeuses bien connues (Perr... San Pel... etc.). La longueur est hélas courte, le final anodin pour ne pas dire insipide. Ceci dit, c'est une excellente bière de soif. Bouteille 33cl, Supermarché XXX (Il n'y en a qu'un), Saint Laurent Du Pont.

3.1 Lys gul. Næsten som en wit meget hvede og lidt koriander. Tynd krop Draught @ Antwerp, Belgium. Hazy pale yellow w a white head, nice lacings. Aroma medium malty (buckwheat, wheat, bread) and yeasty (coriander). Flavor light sweet, acidic/sour and bitter, refreshing. Light to medium body, average+ carbonated.

3.2 Bottle - Cloudy, Darkish banana yellow. Ok initial white head but dissipates. Good Wheaty, yeasty banana tasting. Ok beer.

2.5 Bottle shared with Linh, Vi and Ken. Pours a golden body with thick white head. Mouthfeel is medium to light bodied with notes of strong spice, malt and Belgian candy.

2.8 Au nez un arôme de pomme qui rappelle de loin du cidre doux. A l'aspect de très fine bulle et une couleur trouble la mousse retombe très vite ( il ne doit pas avoir de fixateur de mousse et d'eclairssisant) En goût assez complexe doux mais très édulcoré ponctuer de fine bulles Attention a ce que vous manger car vous risquer d'en cacher le goût. J'essaierai d'en reprendre car elle ne m'a pas conquise pour une première.

3.7 Blonde trouble avec fine mousse blanche. Nez fruité et douceur de céréale bien typé belge. Bouche onctueuse à carbonation fine, goût fruit pomme banane et céréale. Légère élégante et agréable.

3.0 18-Dec-13 (330-ml bottle: Sample bottle from the distributor) This beer pours a hazy golden body with half an inch of white head that settles to a thin sheet. The nose is like a German Hefeweizen, with aromas of bread, yeast, pepper, and a hint of banana. On the palate, white pepper and dried herbs jump out first, with lightly sweet, toasted cereal flavored malts showing more presence toward the finish. It's light-medium in weight, medium in carbonation, and fairly dry on the palate. Overall, this comes across as a hybrid between a Saison and a Hefeweizen. It's clean, refreshing, and quaffable.

3.0 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Fruity nose with distinct Belgian yeast. Medium body, lively carbonation, malty and grainy with subtle hops. Not too sure what all the fuss is about to be honest. A good Belgian Blonde, and nothing more. 161218

3.2 Sampled @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2018, Day 1. A hazy pale golden beer with a small white head. Aroma of moderate sweet yellow fruits, banana, yeast. Taste of yeasty yellow fruits, banana, wheat, dough.

3.0 Geel troebel bier met een droge zurige en kruidige brood smaak. Heeft voor een simpel ogend bier veel diepgang. -backlog de BierApp-

2.5 Leuke verpakking maar geen verrassing wat bier betreft. Doorsnee Schelde bier van 10 in een dozijn.

4.0 Golden opaque in colour. Small head. Interesting bread and pineapple notes. Little bit of citrus. Somewhat like a Wit. Very pleasant.

3.6 Aardig prijswinnend bier op de world beer awards. Beetje zurige bruisende smaak. Gebrouwen in Antwerpen. Met oa. boekweit erin verwerkt. Iets te wrang.
