3.4 Cask pint at the Edward Rayne, Raynes Park. Pours clear mid brown with a white head. Aroma of caramel and toffee. Bitter finish.
3.0 Estery, malty with some hop. Too much caramel and toffee.
3.5 Draught. Copper color, lasting off-white head. Herbal hop aroma. Smooth, malty flavor with hops and aniseed and some nutty notes in the finish. Medium-full body, medium-light carbonation. Nice.
3.5 Cask @II Asturies Cask Festival, Cotoya Brewery. 19-03-2017. Pours clean amber with nice little off white head. Short head retention, poor lacing. Malty, herbal, caramel nose. Medium body, soft carbonation ,oily texture. Taste follows the nose, smooth. Plain but solid. Enjoyable.
3.1 Cask - Caramel and light twig. Clear Amber with a decent white head. Very light caramel and a touch of twig with an earthy finish. Easy drinking.
3.2 Cask. Dark Brown in colour. Very fruity; citrus and apple/pear. Malty; caramel and toffee. Hoppy; rather grassy and earthy hops. Quite sweet. Hoppy finish. (2008)
4.1 Aroma nutty. Caramel and malty fruit flavours. Nice bite on palate and good strength British beer. Second pint even better. Went up 0.4
3.0 Cask at The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) A clear deep amber colour with a medium white head. Aroma of sweaty feet, caramel, fruit, some nuttiness and slight spicy hops. Taste of caramel, nuts, fruit, a hint of sulphur and slight spicy, earthy hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dryish, malty bitterness in the finish. A decent, smooth, malty beer but it’s all malt and fruit. An average premium bitter.
2.8 On tap in the Vic. Amber colour with a off white head malty caramel aroma and taste medium body
3.6 Cask @Tree Folk’s (Rome). Pours a light amber color with a medium white head. Aroma is malty, nuts, light roasted notes, caramel, grass, apple. Flavour is medium malty with a delicate bitterness. Medium to light body, soft carbonation. So british!
3.0 Cask. Aroma mildly malty but faint. Pours amber with an off white lace top. Tastes toasty and hoppy with a tart bitter tang. An average beer that was once a good one.
3.7 Handpump at Tree Folks in Rome-Italy. Pours a caramel amber brigh color, semi clear. Creamy off-white foam. Nose: peanuts, dry grass. Mouth: super nutty, rich maltiness, cherry skin, velvety bitter final almost unpredictable. So tasty!
3.6 Cask in the Old Doctor Butler’s Head. Deep reddish amber colour, thin white foam. Rich, full malty flavours with a pronounced bitter hoppy finish, earthy/spicy rather than floral/citrus. A most satisfying pint.
3.5 On tap in Warschau Kafle i Kupsle. Refresher, bitter, malty, I like this one.
3.4 Clear amber color with a thick creamy off white head. Toffee and a bit fruity nose. Decent body and a soft carbonation. Creamy texture. Lovely smooth flavor. Toffee, fruity and pleasant hoppy. [On tap in London. England]
3.0 11/7/2009 12:58:03 PM Cask at Tom Cribb, Mayfair. Amber head. Fruity nose. Taste of caramel, hops and malts. Bitter finish.
3.3 Cask with an amber pour and a lacing head. Toffee aroma, plum and grass. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel, mild carbonated. Toffee sweet taste, dark dried fruit, mild grassy hops, straw and grass.
3.5 r dark brown body. Cocoa nuts caramel aroma. Prune plum oranges flavor. Well hopped and balanced with an alcohol level that seems just rght. Low carbonation. Long bitter finish.
4.3 Vaya puta joya!!! Olor caramelo igual que el sabor, junto con esi golpe seco y amarguin que presta asgaya. Un lujo!!!
3.7 For the type of beverage claimed it is exactly what it claims. Nice floral aroma and deep amber coloring. Not a beverage I would drink normally but for this area it’s one of the better as far as flavor. Tap in London.
3.0 Apr 2015 - Cask at the Willow Walk. Orange, still, clear, small foamy beige head, sparse lacing. Almost no aroma here, maybe a bit musty and papery. Body is medium, slightly foamy, low carbonation. Taste is masonry, dusty noble hop, woody, medium bitterness. It’s OK. A classic I guess, but also a bit generic. Not the best showcase of English hop. It’s fine, but I wouldn’t want a second pint of it.
3.4 Pint in the Auld Brig, Irvine (JDW) Looks good, smells good, tastes a bit syrupy, malty fruits, smooth. Decent enough but doesn’t taste like a 5.2%ABV.
3.4 On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - deep amber with a decent head. Nose - toffee maybe some lime. Taste - caramel going into lime marmalade. Biscuity background. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry finish, some malt some hops Overall - good but ESB can be and should be more complex than this.
3.0 Must have had this before but had never entered it for whatever reason. Malty with some earthy hops and a smooth, heavy finish. Decent beer.
3.4 Classic ESB from England’s oldest active brewery, named after old signs depicting a bishop’s finger. Creamy head on a bronzed amber-coloured robe, flowery and caramelly aroma with the characteristic diacetyl (buttermilk) accent only present in the cask-conditioned version. Well-balanced, malty taste, supple mouthfeel, dried fruits, finishing mildly hoppy, very thirst-quenching.
3.5 Backlog. On cask at Green Lion Inn. Dominated by slightly sweet caramel, dried fruits and a hint of herbs. A decent example.
2.9 @ Röhällavägen. Burk från Systembolaget (19:-). Fruktig och maltig, kryddor, ganska hög sötma, farinsocker, medelfyllig. Avslutningen är torr, besk och fruktig.
2.9 On tap at Ministerstwo Browaru Pub, Poznań. Pours copper, magnificient head thanks to hand pump. Aroma: malt, caramel, hint of fruits and hops. Taste: mainly malt, caramel and fruits notes. Medium bitterness. An average ale.
3.3 Encore un super produit à boire dans un bon pub anglais. Caractéristiques classiques.
