3.2 Quite a nice pleasant beer. Toffee and hops on the nose. Decent flavour to it, floral with a long peppery bitter finish. Had 4 Sheps Neame now, this is typical of them. Nice but not spectacular.
3.0 50 cl bottle, no BBE info Aroma has toffee and goldings-like hops. Flavour has toffee, harshy goldings hops, some caramel and hints of butter. Decent, but goldings is (still) not my favourite hop.
3.3 Bottle at home in London with Lyoli and Chris. Pours clear, dark gold with a small, foamy white head. Some toasty biscuits on the nose, hints of herbal hops. Light to medium sweet flavor, more toast, some mild floral bitterness, some mild straw. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Fine, balanced finish, some toasty malts and crispy straw, some mild, lingering grass and earth, very light citrus. A very passable brew.
2.4 Light copper colour with a large frothy white head. Has an aroma of bitter hops tastes very bitter and hoppy . Slightly fizzy.
3.0 Clear amber w/ a thin covering of beige foam. Flowery aroma w/ notes of caramel & citrus. Medium, mildly sticky feel. Sweet, biscuity malt flavour w/ notes of caramel. Very strong alcohol presence giving a peppery bitterness.
3.3 Deep gols pour frothy head medium carbonation aroma caramel fruit earthy light floral flavour fruity woody mild bitter light resinous taste good tasting ale at the finish with a fair bitter
2.9 Bottle. Amber pour with a white head. Fruity aroma with a bit of hop. Malts, pear and orchard fruit flavours. Fruity, slightly bitter finish.
3.4 500ml bottle. Pours golden with a small, white head. Aroma is floral and earthy hops. Floral taste to start, followed by a citrus hoppy bitter finish. Very nice, overall.
3.0 Very floral on the nose and taste, very refreshing an excellent summer beer, nice pale gold colour
3.2 0,5L bottle Golden body, white foam. Nice aroma packed with floral, spicy British hops. Lean body, low carbonation, slightly sticky. Biscuity malt in the background, quite a fruity hop presense; bitter orange, earthy spice. Bitter finish. Pretty good blonde bitter.
2.1 29th July 2008. Clear light brown beer. Very light hop and malt. Balanced but watery and characterless. A very average beer.
2.8 Copper colored, medium sized good looking head that dissipates rather quickly. Not much going on in the smell. Mostly bready malts with fragile hop notes that actually goes quite perfumy and soapy. Not as bad as it sounds though, it smells decent. Not much going on in the taste either. Mostly sweet bready and biscuity malts that is sprinkled with restrained but rather sharp citric hop notes. Some floral notes, carrots and a gentle hint of herbs. The finish is short with a minimal bitterness and some mineral flavors. Light body, medium carbonation. Not much to say about this one. It’s a decent British bitter, nothing else. Kind of refreshing, though. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)
2.9 Botltle 10 C. 2009-06-10 AP: Amber, lovely rocky head AR: hops F: hoppy, throaty flavour on the back of the tongue, citrus AF: throaty, flavour on the back of the tongue
3.0 500 ml bottle. Clear amber colour, thin white head. Toffee, citrus and spicy hops in the aroma. The flavour is caramel-malty, with a nice grassy-flowery hoppy finish.
2.6 Bottle. Pours a dark amber colour with no real head. Fruity aroma, there’s quite a nice balance here, malt and some caramel also comes through. Not a bad beer for the summer.
2.8 Amber with a small white head. Sweet honey, toffee and citrus in the aroma. Thin and watery malt flavour with a little diacetyl.
3.6 500 ml clear bottle, bought at Systembolaget. ABV is 4.5%. Deep golden to amber colour, big head, slightly off-white. Moderate aroma of floral hops, hints of grass. The flavour has pleasant Goldings hops throughout, on a relatively dry and biscuity background, with just a slight fruitiness. There are definitely worse summer ales than this one around. Highly drinkable.
3.3 Pours copper with larg fluffy light beige head with inviting lacing. Fresh flowery hops with toffee, bread and some roasty notes. A thick oily mouthfeel with not so much flavor. The finish is nice though with a long lasting bitterness.
3.1 Bottle. Pours dark amber with a wihte head. Floral hoppy aroma. Malty with a bitter finish. One of the best bottled ESBs ive had.
3.3 Bottle. Nice head with good duration. COlor is amber. Aroma and taste are hops, malt, caramel and flowers.
3.1 Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber color with a nice white head, leaving quite a lot of lacing on the glass. Aroma is malty and caramely with some floral hops, and just hints of metal (though not in a bad way). Flavour is rather malty, quite sweet, with lots of caramel, fruit marmelade, floral hops and light bitterness. Light to mediumbodied, texture is rather smooth, and the carbonation is soft. Quite nice beer.
3.2 Bottle. High and lasting creamy off-white head. Beautiful clear amber body.Malty pear aroma with toffee notes. A bit watery flavor of pear, toffee and biscuits. Low carbonation. Long sweet aftertaste.
2.9 Bottle from ASDA. Caramel and spicy hop aroma. Flavour was sweet, with a hint of toffee, red fruits and slightly metallic finish. Ok.
2.9 500 ml bottle (4.5%abv), from Systembolaget. Brilliant copper brown, big offwhite head with fine laceworks. Predominant hop aroma; herbs, earth and a faint fruitiness. A scent of peppery malts. Much of the same flavorwise. Initial hoppy bitterness, backed by a dry, biscuity and slight spicy malt body. Quite filling and big for a 4.5 percenter. Rough, earthy bitterness inthe finish. A decent one, but missed I the floral scent...
3.4 Clear sparkling golden orange color with a great frothy white head. Hoppy aroma with lots of citrus and a touch of caramel and herbs. The same goes for the flavor, nice and hoppy. A pleasant seasonal which looks, smells and tastes well.
3.2 Bottle, 50cl - Clear orange copper beer with a frothy white off white head. Aroma is fruity with notes of apricots and floral hops. Flavor is malty with notes of apricots, caramel, butterscotch and overripe fruits. Not really an ESB, but a good bitter for a warm summers day.
2.0 500 ml bottle. It poured a dark orange golden liquid with a medium foam and a nice lacing. It smelled of grass, wood, malt, bread and metall. It had watery and weak flavor with a metallic and stingy bitter aftertaste. Not my kind of beer.
2.7 The beer is nicely presented in the bottle, but apart from that its a pretty average brew. A nose of bread and hops. Taste is metallic and has a little too much funk in it for my taste.
3.6 500 ml bottle. Deep amber color, rich white head. Floral aroma. Hoppy flavor with some honey, malty finish. Light body, medium carbonation. Pretty good summer beer.
3.2 500ml bottle (Mallaskukko, Turku)
Dry peppery hop aroma. Citrus taste, almost lemonadey. Crisp, but very watery. However, a good gingery finish saves it. Not brilliant, but a pretty safe quaff.
