3.0 On Cask at The Malt House Willenhall treacle toffee aroma. Sharp bitter taste Dark amber colour creamy hard. Definitely treacle toffee looks more attractive than tastes
4.1 The grapes
2.5 Cask at Angleterre. Hazy golden amber color. Baking biscuit aroma. Tasteis bready straw.
3.0 Cask at The Red Lion, Leek (Hyde’s) A clear amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of light bready malts, slight tea, a little fruit, subtle caramel and some chocolate orange. Taste of bready malt, fruit, some chocolate orange and subtle caramel. Light to medium bodied and soft carbonation. A soft, dryish, grainy bread bitterness in the finish. A lot fruitier than expected but quite dry. A good bitter, like Bass, if on form.
3.3 Piwo miedziane, zmętnione. W aromacie karmel, tofi, chleb. Podobnie w smaku. Pełnia średnia. Wysycenie niskie. Klasyka gatunku.
3.3 Cask at Tom Cribb, London. A classic ale that is a good comfort choice. Very gluggable.
3.2 Cask. Dark Amber in colour. Fruity; citrus-orange. Hoppy; grassy hops. Malty; caramel. Slightly sweet fruity maltiness leading to a dry bitter hoppy finish. Not Bad. (2008)
2.6 Tried at the Three Horseshoes, Waddington. wasn’t expecting much from this, but I also know, it would be at its best. The beer was still a touch dull. Grainy bead aroma. Light sweet taste not much to say.
3.6 Pours a clear ruby caramel with a half finger of off white head. Aroma has great notes of caramel, toffee, slight dark fruits, a hint of roast, and traditional spicy/earthy hops. Taste is balanced well with bit notes of caramel, toffee, dark toasted malts, and a drawn out, clean ending. Medium body with a low-mediumcarbonation. Clean in the mouth with a dry finish. Overall a classic bitter.
3.0 Draft at the du liner. Clear amber off white head Aroma of bread. Taste mild bitterness, some sweetness. Taste bread, hay.
2.7 Good looking in the glass, clear amber colour with a decent off white head, unusual taste for a bitter with quite a bit of malt present. Drinkable but not a classic English bitter for me.
3.0 Cask at the Crown Rivers, Heathrow airport, 20.4.16. Clear gold-brown with a small white head. Slightly buttery aroma with a little green apple and a little malt. Mild bitterness in the mouth, some green apple too. Medium body, very mild carbonation, a little green apple finish.
3.1 *On cask at Heathrow Terminal 5. Nice caramelly smooth beginning. Not to deep but very easy to drink. Round and fresh stuff with a nice smooth bitter ale aftertaste.
3.1 From notes: Can from S-Market. 4.2% ABV version. Malty with medium bitterness, a bit caramelly. Sweet aftertaste.
2.6 Cask at The Duke of Wellington, Chelsea. It pours clear amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is brown bread, malt-driven, cereal, caramel and a touch of orange marmalade. The taste is dry upfront, sort of bitter, a light bit light and wishy-washy, caramel and some orange marmalade. Light body and limited carbonation. No real depth of flavour. A bit light and dull.
2.2 Cask at ushers. Pours clear golden, nose is cereal, toffee, taste is bland toffee, watery, harsh finish.
3.5 Unusual taste. Burnt toast and caramel aroma. Malty taste. Amber colour.Mild bite on palate. All in all quite acceptable. Will drink again. Second pint better. Very refreshing.

3.2 11/7/2009 12:49:31 PM Cask at Captain’s Cabin, Mayfair. Nice amber with white head. Hoppy nose. Flavour of malts, caramel and sweet notes. Nice blend with bitter finish.
3.0 Amber, thin white head, aroma of malt and caramel. Quite sweet, caramel and molasses, low bitterness. Not bad.
2.2 Cask at the Woodrow Wilson, Carlisle. Pours clear golden amber with a thin white head. Aromas of butterscotch and little else. Taste is more of the same. Mineral note on the finish
3.1 Cask at the GBBF 2015. High creamy lasting off-white head. Clear dark brown body. Mild sweet fruity apple pear aroma. Mild sweet fruity malt caramel flavor. Somewhat thinbodied, low carbonation, short finish.
3.3 Appearance: Clear deep copper golden color with a thick off white head. Ok lacing. Aroma: Fruity, floral hoppy and toffee. Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet and an ok bitterness. Soft to flat carbonation. Taste: Fruity, bready, toffee and floral. Overall impression: Really nice and easy drinkable ale. I only wish it could be a little bit more carbonation. Personal stats: On tap @ Old Blighty
3.1 From tap. Just an ordinary bitter, nothing surprising, though it is a good session, easy drinking ale.
3.1 On cask at Congress, Longton. Surprised I’ve not rated this before. Chestnut ale, some nuts, some caramel. Easy drinking best bitter.
3.7 Transfer from BA review on 2-24-14- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a copper color with a one finger of tan colored head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading to leave a moderate level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is quite heavy of a lightly toasted smell as well as a big aroma of toffee and a grainy smell. Along with these aromas are some lighter fruit smells as well as a bit of a more earthy and herbal hop aroma. Taste – The taste begins with a lighter toasted malt and bready flavor mixed with a light caramel and toffee flavor that procures an overall crisp taste. Along with these flavors are some lighter hop tastes of a more earthy nature. The sweeter flavors of caramel and toffee begin fading producing a very crisp taste overall. With a bit more of a herbal and earthy hop coming to the tongue at the very end, one is left with a pleasant and crisp, lightly toasted malt and moderately bitter flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is quite light with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. Both are fantastic for the moderate flavors of the brew and for the crisper feel making for one very refreshing beer. Overall – A refreshing and easy drinking, crisp brew. While not a flavor powerhouse it is quite easy drinking and enjoyable. A great session style brew.
3.5 Much appreciated ESB since 1990, to commemorate the Battle of England in World War II, hence the name. Beautiful warm amber colour, thin head as expected from an English cask-conditioned bitter; caramelly character with buttermilk (diacetyl), apple, orange, grassy hops; soft maltiness with a long but not very sharp, leafy, elegant hop bitterness, very satisfying. Above average bitter.
2.6 Cask at the Ship Hotel, Weybridge 25/7/14. Pours brown with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel and malt. Mild bitterness.
3.6 Spina @ tartan. Ambrata con bella schiuma. Classica ed in stile ma davvero godibile! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhold
