3.3 On tap. It poured a dark copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was of malts, caramel and brown sugar. The taste was similar to the aroma with more malts, caramel, brown sugar, straw, grass with medium carbonation and a nice smooth aftertaste. Nice day drinker.
5.0 Wanted to try a Shiner beer because of hearing about it in a BlackBerry Smoke song. This is a very smooth Bock beer that may just be my go to beer. Can't wait to try more from Shiner when I can find it.
3.1 Pours clear amber with a khaki mousse head, quickly dissipating. Metallic, biscuit, cereal. Decent beer
1.6 Cheap beer with a taste to match
3.3 Pretty decent for what it is. A Bock from Texas? Surprising find for a Californian like me. Smooth, not too much malt, nice dark color and easy to drink. Well done Texas Germans.
3.6 Pours a clear copper brown from the bottle with bubbly tan foam that dissipates quickly to leave light lace. Aroma of sweet caramel and biscuit malt notes over light grass. Taste follows, malty crisp lager, flavorful but refreshing. Very nice, can't believe I've never rated it.
2.9 Bottle. Pours deep amber. Biscuit, light chocolate, cereal. Medium body. Pretty basic but not super unpleasant.
3.7 #StayHomeBrew. My beer to stay home with during the pandemic. My comfort brew since the brewery is nearby.
2.7 12oz bottle at The Bulldog, New Orleans, LA on 24/06/2008. Not a bad beer, although lacking some depth that I’d associate with a good bock.
3.5 Pours a medium amber with nice head, with lacing remaining. Just a well-balanced bock, easy to drink. I can drink this all day or night. Very good beer. Prosit!
2.7 Bottle 19th February 2020, Fair Market, Austin, Texas. A bit of a staple in Texas, had this is a bottle in Austin, was OK, but wore a little thin
3.0 12oz bottle at Cast & Plow (Ritz Carlton, Marina del Rey) on 28-Jan-2020. Brown with a thin beige coloured head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit and spices. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of caramel, malt and prunes. Rather thin, lacking in complexity - not my favourite style, but not really up to par.
2.2 Sporo było wypitego piwa swojego czasu. historyczna opinia i ocena z pamięci.
3.5 2nd time trying this since a long while ago. Light biscuity nose. Malty backbone. Crisp. Decent
2.2 Nothing special here just another average beer. Flavors were somewhat bold but did not deliver a good lasting flavor. I was expecting something better.
2.6 zapach słodowy, ciężki, wyraźna piwnica, kurz, karmel, pieczony chleb, wilgotne żołędzie, może pożółkłe liście. kolor miedziany, wpadający w jasną czarną herbatę, klarowny. piana w kolorze złamanej bieli, średnio obfita, średnio trwała. w smaku pełne, słodkie, słodowe, ciężkie, dużo karmelu, trochę melasy, przypieczony chleb, odrobina kardamonu, trochę lekko chemicznych posmaków i lekkie nuty kwasu chlebowego w tle. goryczka niska do umiarkowanej, dość ostra, lekko alkoholowa, lekko roślinna i kurzowa. nasycenie wysokie.
2.5 12oz bottle consumed during World Series with samalito. Deep brown with amber hues. No real hint of haze...looks a little like a Newcastle. Nose is pretty weak..maybe a little bit of malty/caramel quality. Taste is mostly sweet...some predominant malt characteristics. Some bitterness present but nothing overwhelming. Mouthfeel is smooth but unimpressive. Mild flavor but actually pretty OK.
2.6 12 oz bottle pours an amber color with a small white head. Aromas of caramel, malt, light biscuit. Light bodied, smooth, easy drinking
3.1 Amber with a thin head and a light, caramel, cola nose. Well-carbonated with a medium, malty mouthfeel and a caramel finish.
0.5 Worst beer ever! Smells like a skunk! Taste like a skunk! Beer was lightstruck! Contacted brewery and they just blew me off! Shows they don’t care about their product or customers! $21 down the drain! BEWARE!!!!!!
3.0 Dark amber color. Slightly sweet malt flavor with slight caramel. Very light body. Refreshing.
5.0 Amazing beer always my first choice, since intro in 96.
2.7 355ml Dose. Klar, bräunlich mit kleiner Schaumkrone. Würzig. Etwas malzig. Eher leichter Körper. Leicht trinkbar.
2.7 Tap at Austin Airport. caramel malt and sweet taste. Drinkable but leaves a bit of an aftertaste.
2.5 Pours a clear amber with a full beige head. The aroma is almost non existent. I maybe find some nutty elements. The taste is also weak but at least I can detect something going on. Its definitely nutty now, to go with lesser bread, caramel, toasted malt, and a floral touch. Sweet and with a mild nutty aftertaste. Medium bodied and smooth in texture. This was not good, but at least I wasn't offended.
3.0 Average
2.8 The aroma is very sweet, almost sugary, without the typical maltiness normally associated with this much sweetness. This is probably due to the corn used in the recipe. The taste is equally sweet without much depth and very little hops; certainly not enough to provide a good balance. It has a thin mouthfeel and is very effervescent so there's a slight sting on the tongue from the carbonation.
2.4 Im United Flieger. Dose. Klares dunkles Bernstein mit einer kleinen festen Schicht Schaum. Wenig Aroma. Etwas Karamell. Geschmack Schwach. Etwas Karamell, Malzsüsse. No Bitterness. Etwas Zitrus.
2.0 Backlog, Bottle, amber color with medium head. Notes are gross and thin. Some fruit and bread but mostly just boring flavor water with some malt. Abysmal.
2.7 From bottle. Light roasted malt, corn and caramel. Light malty sweetness, minimum bitterness. Light bodied, watery texture, soft carbonated. This is more an Amber Lager than a Dunkler Bock, however quite refreshing and drinkable, when cold.
