2.0 Bottle from HEB in Austin, TX. Aroma is peaches? Peaches in a dunkel? Very odd. Taste is crisp, some fall spices, peach tea. Couldn't really finish this one and didn't really understand the approach.
5.0 This is an underrated winter beer. Took me a couple to first appreciate it but then I found myself craving it. Sneaks up on you. This is about the only thing I look forward to when winter hits here in the upper midwest.
3.9 Bottle. Sweet peach aroma with notes of pecan and brown sugar. Pours clear deep amber colored with a half a finger of tan head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with sweet peach and brown sugar flavors. Finishes smooth with pecan nuttiness cutting the sweetness nicely. Even better than I expected.
4.3 Surpisingly delicious. Malty, not too sweet. Subtle holiday spices and pecan flavors. If you enjoy a more malty/less hoppy brew, give it a try. I would definitely buy this again. Cheers
3.9 Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of caramel, wheat, fruitiness and a hint of spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of wheat, caramel, fruitiness and a hint of spice with a crisp dry lingering fruity caramel finish.
3.3 Not ver spicy and over the top like other seasonals. Love the cherry peacy aftertaste. love weiss beers too. truly nice. no real aromas. Got flat quick
3.7 Fruity and sweet with an odd burnt after taste
4.2 Burgundy pour. Thin lace. Nose of sweet cherries. Cherry taste with hop palate.
3.4 shiner knocked out of the park again .. great holiday taste nice smooth hints of nuts and fruit.
3.3 Purchased a 6-pack of these bottles, I think in Ohio somewhere - on a trip to St. Louis. was expecting lots of spices for a holiday beer, but no. Peaches and pecans. Interesting. Pours a clean copper colour with dark amber highlights. The head is fizzy, not lasting too long. Beige, and leaving a few bubbles around the neck. Lots of peaches in the nose over mild nuttiness. The nut notes do come out more in the taste, calming the fruity sweetness. Decent hops help out in the finish as well with some light bitterness, and a nice dry finish. Again, very interesting, and nicely brewed all around. Was not sure I could have a few of these one night, and I could. Thankful for those well-blended hops.
2.7 Bottle. Deep amber body. Short white head, diminishing. Aroma of sweet peaches, toasted grain, nuts, caramel. Sweet to start. Sweet to finish. Thin to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A sweet, fruity drink, not cloying, but close in the finish.
3.0 Bottle from a Giant supermarket. Deep copper in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Very sweet, with caramel, ripe fruits, spicing and bready malts, with a lightly bitter finish. So so.
4.9 Fantastic. Peach inside, good flavor. Definitely it worth a 100 try. You will never get disappointed.
3.5 12 oz bottle from Wegmans. Very unique. Slight peachy taste and a good holiday flavor. Sweet to start with a smooth aftertaste.
2.9 Dusty
3.8 On tap. Dark cola color with some head, no real noticeable lacing. Very noticeable pecan aroma. Slight peachy flavors layered on top of the pecan and malt. Fairly smooth aftertaste with just a touch of hops.
2.7 Poured from a 12oz bottle..clear dark amber thin white head smell of peaches roasted malts taste peach fruity roasted malts light on the hops bitter at the end not bad
2.4 A Wonka-esque beer experience. Starts sweet as soda, then a spice flavor comes in. Ends with a very mild hoppiness. Odd. Good for those who like a very sweet beer.
2.9 If you’re not a beer connoisseur then this is great. But to me it tastes like when you bite too close to the core of a peach and you get that bitter pithy taste. Mixed with a metallic undertone. Not great. Not terrible, but not great. Eh.
2.9 Tastes like an ale. Somewhat harsh on the palate. It claims it’s a dark wheat, and it shows in the appearance but not in the taste.
2.8 12oz bottle pours brown with large offwhite head. Nose and taste are very heavy peach, to the point of artificial-ness...backend has some nutty spice and faint roast cracker and bread, but overall a bit too peachy. Finishes sweet.
2.7 Pours mahogany with medium head; peaches and stone fruits dominate the nose and the palate.
3.1 Sorta a weird beer I’m not too fond of. Too sweet, not enough nuance or real beer flavors.
5.0 This is a flavorful and amazing beer. It hits the pallet on all the levels. It's sweet then tart, then mellow. This is such a perfect blend of TEXAS flavors! It's perfect. Perfectly Shiner! By far my favorite.
3.5 Great peach taste up front. Finishes smoothly with a touch of bitterness at the back. Overall, a good drinkable beer. I would recommend this to try but definitely not a daily drinker.
2.2 Should've read the description earlier; I had no clue I was getting into a peach beer. General dunkelweizen notes are there--caramel, toffee, bread, and a little clove--but couple these flavors with the juicy peach backbone and the pint grows cloying as it warms, without any hop balance to offset the sweetness. Oily pecan adds a slight nutty undertone, but otherwise a sweet peach brew. Not for me..
2.7 Pours clear, dark amber with a full, bone white head. Aroma is peach and light roast. Taste is peach and caramel. moving to a roast. Finish is metallic roast. A less than ideal fruit beer.
3.3 Wasn't too sure about this at first, but grew on me at the end....at least an overall average brew. I've always liked peach nectar, so maybe that is why I like and can understand where this beer is aiming at. The first few sips are pretty peachy (some might think overwhelming), but as you drink more the hoppiness balances it out, and actually has some decent malt content. Appearance is amberish. Didn't taste the pecans too much, but noticed some nutiness that balanced out the sweetness of the peach. I would get this again next year if it's around.
3.0 Strong peach tea aroma. Sweet, slight chocolate. Pours a clear beautiful garnet color with quickly dispersing white head. Peach flavor with some woody and malty undertones. Medium bodied with medium co2, lingering peach flavor with slight bitterness. It’s not a bad drink, doesn’t taste like beer though. Taste like peach tea. Not necessarily a bad thing.
3.7 12 oz bottle. I didn't read the description before trying this so I was quite surprised by the flavor profile which is dominated by peach jam. This is not what I expect in a winter/holiday beer but I put that aside for the ratings. The aroma is also quite peachy. Excellent appearance with a deep copper body that has excellent clarity and is topped by a creamy, durable beige head that leaves sheets of lacing.
