3.3 0.33 bottle from Loop Hotel. Black. It’s dark outside. Coffee, chocolate. Roasty, sweet, medium body. Coffee finish. To light. Dark brown to black, quickly diminishing creamy head, just a trace on the surface. Chocolate, some smoke, roasty. More roast in the taste, sweetish, lasting roasty aroma, dry. Full taste, distinctive dryness, thick. Overly roasty stout, to intense!
3.7 Bottle 0,33l. Dark liquid with beige head. Medium body, light carbonation. Cocoa bitterness as finish. Very full for such low alcohol. Very tasty. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.9 Pitch black, small brown head. Aroma is chocolate and cocoa, hints of sugar. Taste dark chocolate, coffee, bit roasty, long cocoa bitter finish. First kick is weak, but it’s growing beautifully. Bit watery, soft carbonation, creamy texture. If there is little bit more higher ABV and thickness, this one would be marvelous.
3.7 Nitrous pour. Great dark black pour with a holding cream head. Sweet molasses taste with a tiny bite of chocolate. Great beer.
3.7 on nitro. Pours black with an average sized frothy light brown head. Aroma is roasted chocolate malt and coffee. Moderately sweet with roasted coffee notes. Full bodied with creamy texture. Pretty good.
3.5 Pitch black with weak but constant tan head. Aroma is of chocolate and weak roasted malts. Taste sweet chocolate, some caramel, some roasted malts, bitter chocolate and bitter dryish finish. Medium bodied and average carbonation.
3.8 12 oz. bottle from BevMo. Black body with a frothy tan head that quickly dissipates. Lots of flavor; black coffee, dark chocolate, burnt toast give way to a big malt base. Extra points for the surprisingly dry finish. I think they achieved their goal: a flavorful, yet light, session stout. Love the low ABV.
2.9 Bottled 355ml. -at O’Hara Zagreb. Dark brown coloured, small pale brown head, mild chocolate nose. Slight roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and some caramel with bitterish roasty finish. Light one.
2.8 Tap. Pours clear black, medium creamy brown head, great lacing. Aroma is roasty, coffee, cigarettes. Flavor is odd, smokey, roasty, pickle, flowers. Medium body
3.3 Bottle from Booths, Media City. Black, with no head. It doesn’t have the strongest character for its style, but it has enough roasted malt in its aroma and taste to please with a slightly milky smooth texture.
3.4 355ml bottle. Black with lots of brown head. Aroma is roasty with some smoke and chocolate accents. Quite creamy too. There’s a certain harshness to the taste of some dry stouts that I don’t find here. Getting a faint hint of woodsmoke in the finish. Carbonation is much too high, which spoils it a bit. Despite that, it’s one of the better dry stouts I’ve had.
3.0 12 oz bottle poured very dark brown, looking black and opaque in the glass. Weak, light brown head. Feel: medium body with light carbonation. Flavor: U.K. style stout with plenty of very dark roasted malt flavor with minimal burnt or char elements.
3.0 Bottle, three months out of date, found hiding in the cellar. Think it came from Morrisons. Very dark brown. Tan head, that only appears after a swirl. Vine fruits, and cocoa at the start. A little ash, and a wet chamois thing, too. In fact, a lot of the wet chamois. Taste is ashy dry. A little bitterness. Palate is thin. Too much carbonation, also. Finishes dry, and long bitter. A hint of sweet, on the lips, right at the end.
3.0 Bottle @ home. Marrone opalescente schiuma beige grossolana, poco persistente.
3.6 From twelve ounce bottle to pint. Beautiful jet black color. Decent light brownish, thin head. Great aromas and tastes of chocolately smoothness! Great complexity while keeping it simple and easy.
3.4 33cl bottle served in a Trappist glass. Pours a dark brown to black colour with a short-lived beige head. Aroma is dry chocolate and burnt notes. Good mouthfeel for the ABV and very flavoursome (chocolate, hint of mocha and a lasting dryness) for what it is. Overall a very good effort. Probably my favourite sub 5% beer.
3.2 355 ml bottle. Black with tanned head. Smell is roasted malt with coffee chocolate. Taste is full bodied roasted malt with coffee and chocolate balanced with nice bitterness. A bit light. Dry with medium bitterness and medium carbonation.
3.9 Bottle from B&M Bargains. And a right bargain at 60p!! Deep rich whisky and roast malt aroma, pours a lovely thick black, with a coffee coloured head. Oily palate, with some tobacco notes and tar. Really enjoyable.
3.1 Bottle from B&M. Colour is black with a tiny tan head. Aroma is chocolate, and honey. Flavour is toasty malt, and coffee.
3.7 Bottle. Black and medium body. The head took some time to dissipate. Full mouth feel and an impressive combination of a dry stout with a sweet finish. A good one.
3.4 Bottle from B&M Bargains; dark brown pour with a big creamy light tan head, roast malt aroma, taste has roast malt, milk chocolate, some sweetness not bad for 79p
3.9 Coffee and chocolate aroma. Beautiful coloring and tan lacy head. Light coffee taste, sweet cola notes. Thin body. Overall a nice light stout. Could session with this one.
3.1 Bottle at home. Pours black, smooth chocolate roast, creamy, dry finish, light bitterness.
3.3 12oz bottle (Old Notes)-Pours black with ruby tints with a small head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and slight chocolate. Taste of the same. This medium to full bodied brew is fairly well balanced and goes down smooth.
3.2 Pours blackish with a thin cappuccino colored head. Nose is a bit of coffee with hints of berry. Taste is pleasantly bitter. A bit thin for a stout for me. Vigorous carbonation. Decent brew.
3.8 caramel, roasty, malt, pours black with no head, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, tastes like a dark chocolate drink with light body, oily feel, flat, bitter finish, its nice!
3.1 Very big dark tan/light brown on top of an opaque black beer. Sugar, molasses, and mild herbal hop on the nose, but its weak. Creamy oversweet sweetness in the body, not particularly grainy malt but caramel and toffee on top of the faintest note of roast on the palate. Little by way of burnt black malt, too. Wonder if caramel or molasses added? Perhaps not. Leaves my lips sticky but full, full taste, feel, and finish. Strange one. Has many of the harder to achieve elements of a stout, whilst missing quite a lot of the basics of the style.
3.4 Bottle from Morrisons, Hatch End. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, coffee, quite dry.
3.0 £1 for a bottle from Morrisons, can’t really go wrong for that! I have tried Shipyard IPA which I was less than impressed by! This is a nice stout, nothing too special but certainly drinkable and smooth. I reckon I’ll get a few more in!
