3.2 Bottle from Total Wine in Boca Raton, FL. American pint glass. Pours a hazy dark orange with a medium white head. Head gone in a few seconds. Very mild lacing. Aroma of bread, some floral notes, and leather. Taste is caramel, some floral, slight fruit. Dry finish with little bitter aftertaste. Not bad.
2.3 12 oz bottle from Wilbur’s. Amber and hazy with an off-white head. Mild aroma of toasted grains and light caramel. Bland flavor, unfortunate and lingering bitter graininess. Light, crisp, dry and clean, not for meh
3.2 Had this on draft at St. John’s - the tap room. Orange clear pour. Frothy head. Orange and peach tastes on the blackend. Not my favorite but a decent pale ale
2.8 Pours orange. Aroma has some hops and malt. Average carbonation. Aftertaste has some bitterness, too much cloying sourness. On tap at St Johns tap room in Virgin Islands.
3.3 It’s pour can be remarked as having a certain a copper orange-dusty glow to it with which sustained an off-white head. Aromas of LME, hops, and mint. Not much else. Bread yeast, but it;s quite brief. Tastes of tin, caramel, mint, and vegetal hops. Fine, by my standpoint.
3.2 It poured a light copper slightly cloudy color with a medium head that quickly dissipated leaving about an average lace around the glass. The smell had some floral scents with hints of caramel and hops. The taste was slightly malty and sweet with brown sugar and caramel, and had a slightly bitter hoppy finish. It had a light body with a high carbonation. A good ol’ APA that was pretty drinkable. Overall, decent for the style and good for me.
3.3 12 oz bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma of malts, citrus and floral hops. Taste is sweet malts and citrus.
3.0 33 cl bottle @ Esplanadi, Tampere. Pours lightly hazy golden color with a small head. Aroma of grassy hops, malts, some fruits and nuts. Flavour of malts, nuts, hay, some dry fruits and mild cardboard. Dry malty palate with a bitter and dry finish. 3413
3.3 35,5 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Esplanadi, BB 09/2012 Aroma feels very english with lots of toffee hops and some caramel. Flavour has English toffee, grassy hops and caramel. Woody and nutty finish. Decent, and faithful to the style.
2.7 (Bottle, 0.355 l - BBE Sep 2012, at Pikkulintu, 20120908) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness, cardboard and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. The age had done its damage but I doubt this beer would be much better if it were fresher.
2.8 Pours a brownish gold with a decent head and good lacing. Taste is a bit bland, a touch metallic and a bit of bittering. The good General would have probably wanted a bit more flavor, more bittering and a touch more hops.....maybe Little Round Hops.
3.3 Pours a clear golden amber from the bottle with good.tan head and great lacing. Aroma of english pale malts and slight hops. Taste is better than the smell, bitter yet refreshing. Solid pale ale.
3.6 A clear amber-orange pour with an off-white head. The nose has an herbal and pine hop aroma with some light bread malt. The light body has a crisp texture with lively carbonation. It has a bittersweet initial taste that grows more bitter into a dry finish.
2.7 $1.80 bottle from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours amber - no head. Smells slightly sweet-sticky. Tastes of copper and pepper. Bland.
3.2 12oz bottle. Aroma of caramel malts and floral and citrusy hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. A standard pale ale.
2.2 Nice moustache. Strong old winey palate. Slight fruit aroma. Feels like much more than 4.8% and I usually like lower alky beers. Fairly good co2 sizzle. Ropey. Metallic hints. Bitterness sets in as session continues. Takes a few to get used to.
2.7 Malty caramel aroma nice clear amber color. But taste comes out bitter and bland. This isn't a terrible ale but lags after such a nice aroma
3.2 12th November 2009 Slightly hazy amber beer. Toffee on the nose. Light crispy palate. Toffee malt, crisp. Just a little hop fruit and bitterness coming through before the dry finish. Not bad.
3.3 Quite a nice looking beer, quite handsome. Burnished orange in color or copper, lots of tan foamy head and perfectly carb’d. Plenty of butterscotch aroma here. Rather high for a pale ale. Fighting through I can smell desent sweet malts and some hops. The diacetyl that was so prevalent in the nose isn’t that pronounced on the palette. There is a good strong malt bill here. Sweet it is yes. Hops have a bite but are very lean, too lean for an APA. There is a light biscuit finish. Medium mouthfeel and sticky and a slight bitter finish. Okay so is this an American pale or English. The envelope please...
2.4 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright amber color with a medium sized foamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was buttery with notes of biscuit and faint fruity hops. The flavor was butter, fruity hops and biscuit. Long butter and fruit finish. Medium body. Eh.
3.3 Pretty good. The nose is a biscuity malt balanced with light floral hoppiness. The beer is a copper color with a small cream head. The taste is malty caramel, biscuit, and toast but balanced with good cleean hops perhaps a touch of diacetyl. Smooth and refreshing medium bodied. Good.
2.8 Pours clear light orange ..aroma is caramel hop..taste is fruit and grass...very light tasting...soso
2.6 Smoother than expected. Not too hoppy. Lighter amber color. As far as Pale Ale’s go, given my inclination towards them, decent.
2.5 (12oz bottle) Pours a clear golden body with a medium white head. Aroma of biscuit, grass, toffee, orange, and herbs. Flavor of herbs, citrus, and biscuit.
3.0 Bottle shared at RBWG) Nose is bready, with hops, yeast, grain, Floral hints..Taste is Honey, sweet bread, Light malts, sweet hops..Palate is dry and bready with honey..
3.0 Bottle. Pours a clear copper with small off white head. The aroma is floral hop and yeast. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet honey and crisp finish. A decent English pale ale from Shipyard.
3.0 Poured a pretty yellow color with some copper. Small white head. Aroma has some butter, cheese, and some cheese. Taste has lots of bread with some cereals. Some earthy flavors in the finish with some bitterness. Some grassy hops with more bread flavors. Overall it’s ok, very British tasting.
3.9 Bottle courtesy of The Finn. Pours nice and golden with a nice amber hue. Taste is great malts and biscuit balancing nicely with crisp hops. Aroma and finish leave something to be desired, but quite solid. Wish I were in Gettysburg!
2.6 Pour is a copper with a large white head. Aroma is some sweet caramel malt and not much of a hop. Flavor is the same. Malts are a bit more earthy with a slight hop. Drinkable but not great and tons of carbonation. The large head never goes away.
3.5 12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. That’s Virginia, where someone located in the Capitol of the Confederacy gave label approval to a label featuring a Union general. It seems reconciliation truly is complete. Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy offwhite head that quickly dissipates leaving a few specks of lacing. Aroma of big caramel and butterscotch notes and floral hops. The taste is floral hops, caramel, some toastiness and a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty drinkable.
