3.1 12 oz bottle. Pours cloudy with quickly diminishing white head. Strong aroma of raspberry. Taste was raspberry and very sweet.
2.7 Drank from bottle, aroma of fake raspberries and beer. Tastes of fake raspberries and beer. It is sweet, sweeter than expected. Not great, drinkable on a hot summers day I guess. Those that love big brewery beers will recommend this to you if you are one that claims you really don’t like beer that much.
2.0 This brew actually scores higher on my rating scale than originally thought. Pour is a nice golden color with a thick head and the aroma is raspberry. Flavor is as expected, but lacks serious wheat.
2.4 12oz bottle 7/19/15 (Meijer Singles)-38° in Shaker-Pours a murky orange with a medium white head. Aroma of raspberry. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew is a bit too sweet.
1.1 Rating #1117 - 04.06.2014 - Not sure why I put this in my mouth. Aroma is medicinal raspberry. Carbonation is high, not much left of any wit character. Devoid of any real flavour other than synthetic raspberry juice. Blargh.
2.7 Cloudy yellow with small bubbly head and some sediment. Strong sweet raspberry / citrus / pear aroma. Flavor is overly sweet and too focused on fruit. Rich, velvety mouthfeel. Interesting but not my style.
3.0 August 21st, 2013 - Shock Top, like Blue Moon, has stretched itself in directions far flung from its origin. Like an amoeba, groping around for food, it feels like Shock Top’s marketing is pushing brewers to find new flavors to appeal to loyal customers. And while most of these efforts can feel thin and cursory, the Raspberry Wheat version of the Shock Top is not bad at all. The nose has light hints of watermelon flavored candy and strawberry, and the palate is light, effervescent, bubbly and airy. Both of these qualities make for a easy sipping summer brew. The flavor is like the artificial watermelon and strawberry flavoring in DumDum lollipops, and for that reason, a little too sweet. But otherwise it’s a fine, foamy beer ready to work as a substitute dessert, or even play a part in some cooking. Pair with strawberry shortcake for extra fun.
2.1 Bottle. Raspberry, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Hazy golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet raspberry and light wheat malt flavor. Light body. Tolerable but not much malt comes out in the flavor.
2.3 Pours a nice honey color. Cloudy. Looks like honey. Pretty decent head that is long lasting. No lacing really... Smells like raspberry. Very heavy on the raspberry. Unnaturally like raspberry. Reminds me of the raspberry of a Bacardi Raz. I also smell some roasted malt, but it’s very light. But the raspberry smell is great and overpowers it. I really like the smell. Taste is artificially raspberry. It’s way too much raspberry. Mouthfeel is light to medium. Goes down real easy, but the artificial raspberry lingers too long. Overall, this is cute. But even for a flavored beer this suffers. It’s way too artificial. Even an actual raspberry doesn’t taste like this. I’m disappointed. I don’t taste any orange or anything else I’m supposed to. I’m not going to try this again. I would suggest you avoid this also, unless it’s free
2.9 Smells and tastes like authentic raspberry, but it is quite sweet. Not that enjoyable due to sweetness.
2.5 Cloudy transparent yellow with a meager sized white head. Overwhelming aroma of synthetic candied raspberry. Mid bodied and smooth. Some yeast and malted wheat backbone is present, but is supplanted by the candied raspberry. Drinkable, but far too sweet.
2.0 Pours a golden yellow with thin white head. strong aromas of raspberry bubblegum. very strong taste of artificial raspberry flavoring. finish is mildly sweet with some VERY faint hops. mouth is left with a tinge of over-ripe raspberries. good beer for those who like the taste of fake raspberries, but not beer. probably a great transition beer for someone who wants to get off coolers.
2.7 12oz bottle from Wegmans, West Seneca, NY. A hazy pale amber pour with a fast fading bright white head; sour raspberry aroma; sweet raspberry taste; with a dry metallic finish - perhaps from the coriander. Fresh and not too sickly.
1.9 Pours a cloudy straw from a bottle, quick-dissipating thin white head with no lacing. Smells saccharine sweet, tastes like soda. Meh.
2.5 Rated on 4-15-2013 (Bottle) This beer forms a small of-white head that quickly dissipates, hazy straw yellow body, fast rising carbonation, and no lacing. The aroma is artificial raspberries, sweet, light wheat, citrus, coriander, and sour. The flavor is sweet, artificial raspberries, light coriander, and light wheat. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is light bodied. Too sweet and too artificial tasting for my liking. This is a beer I have no interest in revisiting,
1.9 Can. Pours a hazy yellow color with a small white head. Has a fruity sweetish raspberry aroma. Fruity wheat malty malty sweetish raspberry flavor. Has a sweetish fruity raspberry finish.
2.6 [6890-20141025] Bottle. Light raspberry candy aroma. Slightly hazy, pale orange body with a quick foamy white head. Raspberry grainy flavour. Medium body. Meh. (5/3/5/3/10-) 2.6- Overheard: "Are you going to pick her up in a car?" "No, I’m going to pick her up with my sherpa."
2.1 Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. I have tried six other flavors of Shock Top, several have been pretty good, Unfortunately this ain’t one of them. The taste is so sweet you can become an instant diabetic. The aftertaste is artificial and is so powerful that I can’t even recall how the brew looked. It doesn’t matter, avoid unless you like your beer soaked in rock candy.
2.0 Bottle. Pale golden body, average white head. Raspberry candy aroma and flavour, underlying sweet grains. I can understand why this is popular as a beer-cooler kind of thing, but it’s not for me.
2.4 2014-10-26. Hazy dark yellow with a small white head. Aroma of artificial seeming raspberry aroma and light wheat. Flavour has similar impression of artificial raspberry over sweet cereally wheat. After a long day of better beer I abandoned this after a few sips and went for a caffeinated soda. Meh. 1.2 Gross. Taste like medicine. Husband said tastes like raspberry emergen-c. Not impressed.
2.4 "i kinda dug the abundant raspberry aroma of this beer, but that’s where the love ends. thin and simple. not offensive, but i thought the orange & coriander clashed with the raspberry flavor, which seemed more fake than the aroma. overall, ok, and better than i thought. in the catergory of "i wouldn;t refuse a free one but wouldn’t buy again"."
3.6 A good wheat framboise. I really like how easy it is to drink. This was the first fruit beer I’ve ever had.
2.5 12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s. Hazy golden orange appearance with an average white head. Aroma and flavor is mostly raspberries with light wheat malts and touch of spices. Light bodied and easy to drink. Decent fruit beer, not too bad.
2.7 Bottle at home. Pours a yellow gold. Aroma is all berries. Flavor follows - raspberries with a slight wheat edge to it. Lighter bodied. Finishes clean. Nice beer. Of the Shock Top line, this is my favorite so far.
2.0 Its ok. Strong raspberry aroma. Very fruity not very strong. Reminds of boomerang beer from Molson years ago. Its a beer and I drink beer so it works.
2.3 bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Cloudy dirty medium amber with a thin rim head, no lace. This amounts to a "pretend" framboise, such as it is. Taste begins with wheat malt and the flavor of raspberry. So far, so good, except that it is watery, lacks raspberry richness, has no complexity, and has strong fizz in the finish. Okay for Shock Top, not okay against real contenders.
(Rating #5726)
2.5 Pours clear, well carbonated, reddish with a big fizzy white top. Aroma is intense raspberry with grass. Taste is fizzy, raspberry and light malt. Fairly terrible.
