Sierra Nevada Beer Camp IPA

Sierra Nevada Beer Camp IPA

This IPA sacrifices nothing for its drinkability, flexing big time flavor and complexity. The light color disguises the depth of the malt backbone, a pillar that balances the potent whole-cones of the piney-citrus Cascade and tropical fruit-like Citra hops.

3.7 White head orange hazy colour. Aroma is classic ipa. Taste is heavy bitterness, no Real sweetness. Dry finish
4.0 Bottle from great grog, edinburgh. Hazy deep golden color, white head. Aroma is malty, hoppy, fruity. Taste is very dry and hoppy, fruity. Long dry finish.
3.8 Bottle. Orange color with a white head. Smell is pretty heavy on the mango and pineapple aspect with some citrus and grass notes as well. Taste smooth and refreshing. Easy to drink, wish this was a regular offering. Reminded me of a somewhat toned down Torpedo.

3.3 Bottle. Nose is yeasty, and slightly musty, slight citrus. Suspect this maybe a bit old. Taste is muted citrus, honey leading to pine. Moutfeel is good. Decent IPA which I suspect was past it’s best when it past me.
3.7 Bottle from the Robert Gillow Bottle Shop in Lancaster. Pours amber with a cream head. Plenty of pine hop notes going on providing a long bitter finish. Some initial fruity sweetness. A nice easy drinking IPA, but lacks a little something in the way of a malt base to make it really good.
3.3 A good Sierra Nevada beer but a bit piny, golden Amber, murky, frothy white head, lots of lacing, classic American ipa but more refined, bottle at bottle shop.

3.8 On bottle from Beermerchant . Golden slightly hazy color, good velvety foam. Aromas of hops, pine, malt, caramel and some fruitiness; medium/ high aroma intensity. Medium body & complexity . Good bitterness & balance. Very enjoyable
3.6 Bottle at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö, Norra Vallgatan Cloudy amber color with small head. Very nice hoppy aroma, fruity, orangey, resiny, with some leafy hops (reminds me if a hop cabinet). Dry but smooth mouthfeel; ordinary flavor, a bit caramellish, strong resiny bitterness. Quite good.
3.8 Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp #93 has a bold, caramelized orange color and an incredibly frothy off-white head. The lacing on this beer is spotty and web-like, but phenomenal. The nose is sweet, with moderately caramelized malts and Cascade hops dominating. There’s something dirty and rustic about the aroma that really earns your respect. That rustic grain flavor leads in the flavor, with a distinctive, meaty, fibrous grain character that balances well with the hop-forward characteristics of the Cascade and Citra hops. The hop flavor is deep and complex, full of character and defines the flavor after the grain flavor washes out. There’s just enough of the right kind of caramelized malt to create the perfect backdrop to the fresh, deep hop presence. It finishes sweet, sticky, and oily, with a touch of acidic citrus hops and a nearly resinous, piney bitterness that’s more fresh than intense. It is a little thicker, overall, than what I was expecting, making it a filling IPA... not necessarily a session ale, but I could still see myself drinking a few of these in a row.
3.3 Gold coloured with white head that soon disappears. Surprisingly large sediment. Aroma citrus. Taste pleasantly bitter..
3.7 A fresh and fruity fragrance. The taste is greatly bitter yet very fruity. The aftertaste continues with the heavy bitterness that fills the mouth very well forever. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

3.9 355ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours clear gold, thick white head. Aromas of pine, resin, citrus, Taste as more, with a nice backbone of malt sweet going on. Lovely stuff.
3.4 Bottle.Pours hazy golden with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of citrus and floral hops, malt, flour and hay.Flavor is sweet and fruity with some floral notes, citrus and grains. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.2 Bottle. A clear, dark golden beer topped by a small, white head. The aroma is a tad weak, with some pale malts and a touch of pine cones and citrus peel. Medium body, pleasant carbonation and quite dry. A bit weak I think, and that goes for the flavor too. There’s a nice bitterness, but besides that it’s pretty weak. Lasting bitter finish with pine cones, resins and citrus peel. Overall, a tad boring, but I guess it would be better completely fresh. 140418
