Sierra Nevada Boomerang IPA

Sierra Nevada Boomerang IPA

Over the years we’ve developed a love for hops from the Southern Hemisphere. These "down under" varietals taste like no other, and we’ve thrown heaps of them into Boomerang IPA to showcase their unique tropical, floral and fruity aromas.

4.1 Bottle from Kavanagh’s, Dublin [130415] Blonde, slight haze, frothy white head, some lacing Aroms - Fresh hoppy nose of grapefruit, soft tropical fruits, dab of sweet citrus, light soft sweet clear pale malt, fresh vibrant zest, dab of lemon, no alcohol, excellent clean aroma Taste as aroma - I like these beers with light sweet pale malts that let the hops come through, bitter zest, tropical fruits, light lemon, slight floral, grapefruit, lots of hops, really good, alcohol well hidden Palate - Soft carb, medium body, light oily, good bitter sweet balance. Finish as main flavour, clean, soft sweet mango, bitter citrus zest. Overall - Fans of Thornbridge Kipling would like this. Just a superb beer - one of my favourite SN beers now.
4.2 In comparison to the other Sierra stuff I've had it's got so much more fruit, but citrus and passionfruit come through mainly. Its nice and crisp, but got a good body to it.
4.1 Pours a light gold with a little cloudyness. Not much lacing. Tropical aroma. Goes down easy
3.4 Amber in color clear with a thin head. Nice drinking IPA. Good flavors and finish.
3.4 Bottle from Drinkstore. Clear pale yellow gold, not much head. Tangy spicy hops in the aroma. Flavour follows the nose, spicy hop notes abound. Light body, medium carbonation
3.3 Light copper with a sudsy foamy white head. Smells of fruity grassy (slightly plastic) hop - tangerine, peach, kiwi, faint pepper. Lots of fruit and grass/hay. Tastes quite bitter, dry, hint of pepper and lemon. Body is dry, lightly fluffy. Aroma is nice but taste and palate are more boring.
3.2 Bottle from QClub at home. Hazy golden yellow pour with thin head. Aroma is not as kiwi hop as I'd expected - a slightly fruitier SN pale ale. Taste is pleasant but not as good as I hoped. Again sort of a fruitier pale ale - same crisp bitterness but balanced by more fruity and floral hops. Good easy drinking beer but not that exciting.
3.3 Hazy golden with a thick white head. Aroma is grapefruit hops and a touch sharp. Flavor is also sharp grapefruit hops with little malt to balance. It’s ok, bit not great. Wife: 3.4
3.5 Tropical fruit and citrus. A bit a bitterness. The classic sierra caramel malt backbone is there. Nice as usual but if they back off the malt bill a touch the hops could come through even more.
3.6 Pours a light orange color with a decent sized khaki head. Aromas and flavors of tropical fruit as well as earthy tones of grass and wheat. Bitter but not overly so. Sweet upfront and a bitter/tangy finish. I like these "Australian style" pale ales.
3.8 Pours a lightly golden color with lots of fluffy white foam, smells like a tropical fruit and herbal. Body is lightly medium with a taste light caramel malt at first and at the end taste fruty and citrus. After taste is bitter like an american IPA. This beer is perfect to taste de blend of the robust flavor of a variety hops. just a tasty beer.
3.4 Got some in a mixed Sierra Nevada case. Pours a light golden heavy cloudy look. A clean white head. A sudsy top. A grassy heavy wheaty aroma. A Slight citrus back note. A lager like flavor of earthy citrus. A pepper tingle on the tongue. Drinkable stuff.
3.1 bottle. Poured hazy straw coloured with a white top. Robust aroma of yeast and hops, almost cheesy. Medium bodied, active carbonation with a tart feel and the end. Flavour is dominated by hops, floral and herbal notes, bitter sweet grapefruit flavour with a spicy finish.
3.4 Bottle. Packaged on: 11/12/14. A hazy gold pour with a thick beige head. Zesty citrus rinds, oranges, grapefruits, and some light caramel in the floral aroma. Goes down thin to medium-bodied and fairly crisp. A light caramel maltiness and some crackers start things off taste-wise. Grapefruits, lemons, and zesty citrus rinds feature at the end. Enjoyable.
3.5 Draft. Nose Is fruity. Lightly tropical. Pale yellow with medium sized white head. Taste is fruity dry crisp lingering fruity finish. Reminds me of Fosters. Banging mate.
3.7 bottle - Pours lightly hazy golden-orange with a one finger head. There’s a pleasant citrus hop led aroma. It tastes of crisp, assertive hops bitterness with citrus notes and a bready malt body. It’s a medium bodied, tasty, easy to drink IPA. Well done.
3.5 Bottle. A golden pour with a frothy off-white head. Earthy aroma with notes of fresh pine and light lemon zest. Bitter hop flavor of pine needles and grapefruit with plenty of pale malt sweetness. Lingering bitterness on the palate. A good IPA.
3.4 Winter variety pack. Light amber color, very fruity aroma... lots of citrus. Bitter with minimal malt presence. Good stuff, thumbs up.

3.9 Really nice IPA! This is A LOT different than most other IPAs out there. This one is completely fruity and tropical. There’s just enough of a hint of a bready malt flavor just because it needs to be there to called a beer. The rest of the flavors are completely dominated by the fruity hops. There is a ton of grapefruit, lemon, lime, light grass, orange and spicy herbs. The aftertaste is strong and aggressive. The Boomerang is a total winner!
3.6 Bottle. Light gold colored brew with a wispy thin bright white head. The nose is massive citrus and walnuts. Hints of herbal goodness are present. Flavors of bread crust and peanuts are present. A little bit of ashy character in the finish. The mouth feel is pleasant with soft carbonation. An overall well made and decently herbal and spicy IPA.
3.4 12oz bottle pours a slightly golden/yellow with a large white head. Aroma of citrus and tropical hops, mango, mildly resinous, and caramel malt. Taste similar to aroma. A mild drinkable IPA.
3.2 Boomerang IPA 6.7% Bottle part of my 2000 yen 4-pack from Sake no Taniguchi. A deep gold that brings to mind some of the Italian IPAs I saw in Rome. It has a big soapy head of foam that has staying power & good lacing. The nose is earthy, pine, dank some sweetness from the malts as well as just a hint of fruitiness. Medium bodied with a dry finish, intensely bitter giving me mostly pine bark and hints of fruits. Again I suspect it is past it’s prime. OK.
3.7 The fact I can see it as an excuse for the next few weeks of a sudden it was the best of the day before I get
3.5 Bottle. Golden beer with a whitish head. Tropical fruit aroma with light white wine. Pine and tropical fruit flavor with light white wine. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Pine and dust linger with light tropical fruit.
3.4 On tap at Old Chicago. Pale golden, with thin wispy head. Mild resinous hop aroma, crisp and dry taste. Session able, very similar to an APA
3.9 Bottle. Orange/ gold pour with an off-white head. Tropical, fruity hop taste and aroma. Nice amount of bitterness without being overpowering.
