This is our Brut IPA, a new take on IPA brewed for a bone dry champagne-style finish. Late hop additions give the beer balanced bitterness and a bright pop of citrus flavor. It’s as intriguing as it is drinkable.
3.712 fl. oz bottle. A clear yellow golden beer with a white head. Aroma of mild sweet grainy malt, yellow fruits, yeast. Taste of yellow moderate bitterness, yeast, Citra, easy to drink.
2.9Spritzig hopfiger Beginn, fruchtig, eher trocken. Feine Herbe, cremig hopfig, helles Malz. Kurzer, eher enttäuschender Abgang. Okay. 10/9/10/9/9/9
3.2Some light grapefruit but not a ton of flavour here. I thought for some reason if anybody could make a good Brut IPA it would be these guys but turns out no. I guess they just suck. Pours golden with good head and lacing. Bitter end with some malt, though fairly dry. Easy drinking at least. Bottle.
3.3Bottle from friends, pouring clear pale golden, with fuzzy white head, falling down too quickly. On opening a nice fresh champagne-associated sense, but that disappears soon, and leaves a faint aroma of citrus and yeast. Taste is soft sweet and moderate bitter, not too hoppy, turning towards a moderate citric element; gives a freshness, with lemonish aftertaste. OK carbo, slightly fizzy feel. Overall I expected more hoppiness, but also a stronger champagne character; it touches the essence of brut IPA nicely, but doesn't really nail it.
3.1Bottle from Kroger BYO 6-pack - I was let down by this. The flavor was not close to the other representations of the style. I figured SN would nail it.
3.6Pours a clear light golden color. Two fingers white head. Pretty good retention and good lacing.
Aroma is lemony. Lemon peel. Light malt.
Taste is lemony. Bubbly. Not a lot of malt.
Mouthfeel is light bodied. Good carbonation. Can’t believe it’s so light.
Overall it’s pretty good. Different. Sessionable. I’d recommend it and would probably not buy it again.
2.8Bottle. 6.2%. Best before 31.10.19. Pours a clear/slightly hazy, pale yellow, with a disappearing, white head. No lacing. Peculiar aroma; not very intense, but with a somewhat ’fresh’ note, sea-like maybe, on a fruity, bit citrusy background. Not a lot of hops. Sour champagne-like hint mucking about in the background. Various fledgling, spicy hints as it warms. Flavour is dry and mildly fruity, with a somewhat orange-peel feel to it. Hint of stale bread/cardboard as it warms. Light citrus as well. Dry, medium bitter finish. Mild alcohol burn. Lingering grassy note. Overall, hmm... My first brut IPA; don’t really know what to make of it. It’s okay as such, fairly well-balanced, and while it does have some interesting features, it feels a bit ...superfluous. It’s not really doing anything for me. 29.07.19.
3.3Light and crisp, though a bit thin through the finish. Mildly bitter with some grassy hops that come through.
3.2Bottle: Pale golden, a bit unclear, small & stable white foamy layer, dry bitter aroma of exotic fruits, mainly pineapple; nearly moderate bitter-sweet flavour, almost medium bodied, but still quite slim; slightly lingering moderate fruity and bitter finish with shy traces of pale malt. Refreshing drop with well hidden alcohol...
3.2Bottle, small stable dense bubbly head, clear deepish gold color, aroma of onion, wood and some vinous notes, flavor of of onion and vinous, ,alty fruity sweetness, light to medium bitterness. Nice and drinkable but not too dry or original.
3.6Clear yellow gold with bubbly stream with thick white foamy head
Aroma is mild grain
Flava is mildly sweet grainy and mildly tart and then bitter
Feels light and soft yet fizzy
Finishes grainy mildly bitter
3.5Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a clean light golden with minimal head. Nose of oak and yeast. Taste is oak and straw.
3.5Pretty good. Some barnyard funky aromas and flavours. Oak, bitterness on the finish. I wish this were a bit more dry on the palate...otherwise it tastes fine.
3.012oz bottle shared by commonshawn during NBA draft watch party. Very light golden with a healthy effervescence. Just short of a quarter finger head. Nose is a little grassy and floral but overall subtle aroma. Taste leans heavily into bitterness letting hops shine. As you would expect the mouthfeel is super dry. It's crisp and refreshing but not really my style. I'll continue to steer away from a brut in the future.
0.5To be honest this is really just a bitter pilsner.
3.4Straw color, Clean ,white BeerHead with frothy, thin and fine foam, ok retention. Elegant aroma rising from the head, citrus, grapefruit and jelly hints blended with malty-sweetness, and grain flavors. Medium carbonation, Light sweetness, Medium bitterness, Light body. The balance between malts and hops is great. Crispy and clean fermentation profile. Very good drinkability.
2.1Hey, another stupid IPA, and its a broot - non the less; hey, put all these stupid ass IPA into one style, will yah? . Very crystal clear and pale, no NE IPA here. Big almost a strong IPA blast up front, but does seem to be as clear in the taste as the clearness in the eye. Yes, I want to say its almost civilized, but its not. Yes, now I think its a little more like an APA instead of an IPA; I've had APA that have been stronger than this. In the middle it tends to get friendly and you almost like it in the end, but don't. Decent co2 clear up to the finish. Not an IPA. $2 bottle from chalet.
3.4[12oz bottle from Total Wines, Brea, CA.] A slightly hazy straw coloured pour with a fast fading white head, and very light carbonation; aroma of yeast and grapes; dry in the mouth with grape juice and some biscuity malts; and a clean crisp fruity finish. Very drinkable, but not as dry as some Brut IPAs I've tried.
3.312oz bottle. Gold with medium white head. Pine nose. Citrus lightly peppered in. Thin to medium body. Balanced bitterness and very dry. Decent.
3.2Draft at Bru Craft. Clear deep yellow gold with a slim soft white top. Nice sweeps of lace at the start. Medium-light caramel malts. Tangelos. Celery. Sweet up front but finishes dry.
3.2Clear lake yellow colour, creamy small head.
Aroma: malt, some hops, grass, some spruce, some citrus.
Taste: hops, malt, bread, citrus, some grape. Quite fresh but with bready malts. Medium dry finish.
5-3-6-3-15
3.3Pours like carbonated white grape juice. Thin, fizzy white head. Grass, pine, leafy nose. Melon, grapefruit, citrus and rind underneath. Aroma is that of a hop-heavy IPA, deceptive because hops aren't the highlight here. This beer drinks lighter and crisper like a pale lager. Smooth, long and dry finish is the hallmark of this beer. Mouthfeel is good, and that finish hits like champagne with each gulp. As long as you're aware this one's fairly light and tame, it's perfectly well done not to mention crisp and refreshing on a hot day.
2.8Bottle. This beer truly is brutal. Golden champagne color with a nice head. Boy, is it bitter. I can honestly say, I do not like this new style.
3.2Lys gulbrun klar med høyt hvitt skum. Lukter honning, barnål og karamell. Middels fylde og bitterhet. Tørket frukt og barnål. Ren. Noe oljete.
2.7Brewed in the States, purchased in Sweden and consumed in Denmark is off course not the optimal way of driking ipa and its derivates. This bottle only contains a tame ale with out any hop content.
3.9the aroma is hoppy and herbal with hints of bitter citrus, pine, resin and spicy grasses... the taste is hoppy and fruity with notes of orange, lemon peel, pine needles, key lime and spicy herbs... the aftertaste is bitter and dry...
3.8Aroma: lots of citrusy, grapefruit
Appearance: clear golden color with a one-finger white head.
Taste: lots of citric fruit, grapefruit, bready malt, low sweetness, medium-low bitterness. It balances towards dryness without being overly dry or bitter.
Palate: medium-light body, medium-high carbonation, medium-high dryness
Overall: This is the first brut IPA I've had. It has nice hoppiness of a regular IPA in its aroma and flavor, and high drinkability of a pale lager at the same time because of its markedly lower bitterness. VERY NICE.
3.4Bottle. Golden beer with a cream head. Spice and light woodsy aroma. Spice and light mineral flavor. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Spice and light mineral notes linger with light woodsiness.
