Sierra Nevada Dankful IPA

Sierra Nevada Dankful IPA

We celebrate #IPADay every year, but this is no ordinary year. Today, we're proud to announce Dankful IPA, a hop-forward West Coast IPA that supports nonprofits working in our communities. The beer has a resinous kick with notes of pine and tropical fruit. Through our Dankful program, we've committed at least $1 million in donations this year, and are kicking things off with a $250,000 donation to @wckitchen. World Central Kitchen has served more than 25 million meals to families facing food insecurity during the COVID crisis through its #ChefsForAmerica program, while also providing jobs for restaurant workers. We're Dankful for that.

Malts: Two-row Pale, Caramelized malts & Rye.

3.6 355ml can (Beerhouse Craft & Kitchen) (7:4:7:4:14=3.6) Clear orange, huge tight off-white head. Bold fruity aroma on the pour, tobacco, caramelly malts. Lovely caramelly malty taste, fruity hops, gentle resiny pine bitterness. Very easy for 7.4%, relatively mild palate. Could easily have the bittering hops ramped up a bit, the malts could easily support it. A proper, honest-to-goodness, IPA - I'm glad to see they still exist. And good on you for the community-minded charity work, I'm more than happy to have a little bit of my money passed in your direction.
3.5 Golden, medium body, resin, pine and tropical hops. I can taste the Sierra Nevada lineage in Dankful. Part of a mixed ‘Weekend’ case.
3.4 Dourada escura,turva,espuma densa,volumosa e consciente;aroma resinoso,cítrico;no sabor malte,lúpulos cítricos,amargor mediano;corpo médio,boa textura e carbonatação,final seco,boa drinkability. IPA equilibrada e gostosa.
3.6 12oz can. Nice traditional IPA. West Coast style - big bitterness and pine. Nice
3.7 Can from an online shop drunk after a while day watching a sick kindergartner at home. Now asleep; it's time for Daddy's game - beer! Mostly clear deep amber, very piney caramel nose with flowery and citrus hints. Flavor is super tasty citrus and pine resin laid over caramalz. Pretty traditional West Coaster if you ask me, very nicely made.
3.5 Can. Golden pour with a large, persistent beige head. Floral, herbal, and dank hoppy aroma followed by the same hop flavors. Very lightly sweet up front, full of rich floral and herbal hops, moderately bitter finish.
4.0 Bottle picked up at State line in Elkton MD. I think this came from a variety pack? Poured into a snifter, lots of lacing left on the glass, big head. Nose reeks of hops. I love it! Bright orange in color. Taste is one dimensional and I am ok with that. Hoppy, bitter and dank. Body is smooth, easy drinking beer for 7.5%. Overall. Just what I expected and what I wanted. Classic SN IPA taste. Lets go Phils and "you ready Rose" RIP
3.4 16oz can. Poured a dark orange, reddish color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was a touch more resin than I expected. Aroma was boozy resin. A bit dank, boozy resin. Okay stuff.
3.5 hoppy bitterness with taste of caramel, pine and fruits
3.6 On tap at Oakland Draft House. Pours clear dark amber with a medium sized off-white head, good lacing. Pine, grapefruit, resin, zesty. Clean, good
3.1 Can 35,5 cl. Pours a hazy amber with an off-white head. Faint aroma, a hint of biscuity malts. Rich, malty body - caramelly and biscuity with a somewhat bitter finish. 190922
3.9 Tight foamy white head stayed on vivid amber coloured body. Pine, orange & marmalade aroma. Medium bodied, tingly on the front, smooth & soft over the tongue and cloying on the back. Malt, resinous, marmalade & stewed fruit tastes with a huge hop hit & bitter grapefruit finish followed by some pepper on the aft. Excellent.
3.6 Can from Citysuper. Drank on month 11 with R. Pours a clear reddish-copper with a thick off-white foam head and lacing. Aroma: candied lemon peel, light tropical fruit, pith, good amount of malty sweetness, almost perfumed, dank pine/grassy hop, herbaceous. Taste: pine/resin, orange, moderate sweetness that turns to a slightly astringent and bitter, herbal finish. Body: slick/oily with lively carbonation, has some astringency and soft fluffiness. Slick and fluffy is an unusual combination, especially for a WCIPA. Surprising amount of sweetness which is welcome given the dank pine and oiliness of the hop. Good caramel malt base and some almost hazy IPA fruit characteristics. Would drink again.
3.3 Pour from bottle is copper with nice white head and active carbonation. Sweet and sticky with a stong grassy vibe. Noticeably hopped up amd bready mixed with some mild melon fruit flavor. Well balanced with a solid ABV that pairs well with a meal or just one to sip on. A bit much for a session beer but good stuff from a consistent brewery.
3.8 (from old notes - 5/21/2022) 12oz can from the local grocer in OBX. A clear copper pour with an off-white head. Aroma has sweet malts, dank fruits, grapefruit, and some dry hopping. Taste is quite sweet yet dank. Grapefruit. Sweet malts. Dry hop evidence. 13.7
3.7 Kolor bursztynowy, herbaciany z lekkim zamgleniem. Piana biała, dość wysoka, trwała. Zbudowana z drobnych pęcherzyków delikatnie krążkuje, znacząc kolejny łyk. W aromacie owocowa i słodowa słodycz, karmel. Dalej suszone owoce i miód. Smak zdecydowanie wytrawny. Goryczka ziołowa, ma lekko łodygowaty charakter. Wysycenie wysokie. Ciało pełne. Tekstura lekko szorstka. Posmak długi ziołowy, wytrawny.
3.7 Hazy pale golden with high white head. Aroma: pine, grassy, grapefruit, orange peel, caramel. Taste: grapefruit, resin, caramel, orange peel, grassy bitter. Medium body, moderate carbonation, high bitterness.
3.8 Can from Cascade Club. Almost clear deep golden body with a white head that holds. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of caramel, honey and lemon. Flavour of lemon and caramel. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Sweet and hoppy.
3.7 I poured it from the bottle into a shaker. It pours a somewhat hazy amber with a white head and lacing. The aroma is dank, pine, and citrus. The taste is dank and pine hops with some grapefruit and mango. This is tasty and drinkable.
4.1 Can. Light to moderate caramel for the malt, moderate to heavy pine and grapefruit for the hops, faint soap for the yeast, with light dried fruits and melon in the background. Head is large, frothy, white, with excellent lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is clear medium amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes moderately to heavily bitter. Palate is medium, slick, with a lively carbonation and a dry finish. Great DIPA, well balanced with a clean, crisp finish.
3.9 Serious compact bubble of white 2 finger head. Nose of the myriad ingredient fresh hops. $$ Duvel like head retention and clinging fluff lacework. Hazy dark burnt orange gold color. Lots of hop taste to process over the tongue. Quality, botanical. A strong warming follows through on time. Carbonation released. A teased bitter well in line and comes through just as the generous ABV. Head remains throughout. Semi-dry and heavier, with the full palate engaged - finish.
3.1 Average IPA. Aroma was weak. Iced tea and a hint of lemon. Pour was a medium dark gold with a one finger white head. Taste was alright. Tea and slight lemon in the front and a weak slightly bitter finish. Light carbonation.
4.1 Nice aroma of stone fruits, clove, citrus and caramel malts. Taste is a nice medium. Maltiness with a dank, earthy, and tropical fruit hop intensity that persists until finish. Great depth and balance.
3.4 can bb 21/4/22 oro carico quasi sembra piuttosto velata buona schiuma persistente resinosa agrume un po ossidata non fragrante inizio abbastanza maltata filo carmelo poi taglio abbastanza secco amaro agrume
4.0 Can. Orange golden color with huge, long lasting white head. Aroma of citrus hops, grapefruits, oranges, yest. Taste is hop centered with grapefruits, oranges, zest. Nice one.
4.0 Can. Pours golden clear, medium white head. Aroma is fruity, citruses with notes of pine and resin. Taste is moderate bitter, light sweet, citruses and lemon-grass on tongue. Medium body, long bitter finish, though very fresh and drinkable.
4.3 Bottle. Drank straight from it cause I’m a heathen. Good hoppy aroma. Pine and citrus fruit. Flavor is hoppy, sweet, pine, moderately bitter. Finishes dry. Pretty good.
3.7 12 oz bottle. Pours light amber with some sparse particles and a white head. Spicy, pine, citrus hop aromas. Flavor has spicy, floral, citrus, grassy hops, decently bitter, with some pale malt. Not bad.
3.9 Can at home in Hackney - picked up from that random offie near Dalston Junction. Pours faintly hazed gold with a creamy, white head. Richly dank, some ripening citrus, slightly aged pine, sun-kissed malts. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Resinous finish, bready malts, citrus fruits. Really fun, old-school, west coast stuff.
3.8 Solid dipa Has light aroma considering the punch this one hits with, hops and carbonation up front bitter sweet dry finish. Not too bad!
