Sierra Nevada Fantastic Haze

Sierra Nevada Fantastic Haze

We were in search of something fantastic. Something juicy, something hazy, something ripe with notes of mango, melon and citrus. So we said, "Reason be damned," and filled our kettles with five hop varieties and loads of malt, oats and wheat. Some may call that absurd. We call it absurdly fantastic.

3.8 Golden hazy pour with minimal head. Gentle aromas of citrus, pine and grapefruit. Flavours are similar to aroma, balanced with a lingering light bitter finish. Pleasant. Hides its punch astonishingly well.
3.7 35,5cl Can @ Kihoskh, Copenhagen, Denmark. Hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is hops, citrus, tropical fruits. Taste is hops, citrus, grapefruit, peach, mango. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.9 Hazy golden. Aroma is caramel pine hops mango pineapple cereal tropic stuff. Taste is sweet caramel with a bit bitter piney hop backbone. Quite bitter and quite sweet. But perfectly balanced. A bit more on the ald school than on the hazy side id say. Good.
4.1 Cloudy, bright golden color and a nice white head. Fruity, overripe fruits with nice balanced hoppy bitterness. Long lasting fruity-bitter finish. Good stuff!
3.5 Very juicy hazy but almost too juicy for my liking. Robust mango like fruit flavor that slightly over powers everything else. Not bad not great
2.9 Another Hazy IPA that is new to me. This one is indeed very Hazy/Hoppy. A bit dry. The flavor is a bit aged, but probably not on purpose.

3.4 Can @ home. Clear! and then hazy when the bottom was emtied, orangey w a small head. Aroma medium malty (bread, wheat), heavy hoppy (tropical fruit, peach, mango, citrus), some sweet alcohol. Flavor medium sweet, then fruity, ending bitter and light burning in the throat. Heavy body, light carbonated.
4.2 Turbid/opaque amber/orange beer with a medium/large off-white head. Medium/heavy aroma; taste starts medium/heavy sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. Orange, tropical fruit, mango, hops and citrus. 8/5/8/4
3.9 Although IPAs in general don’t get me all excited, I do find more interest in the imperial/double versions. So we now have Fantastic Haze to sample, this is is all right. The 12 oz can was acquired at a nearby Texas-specific supermarket., now opened and tilted into my ABGB snifter. Tangerine-orange in viewing with a super head of purely white foam that withers. The nose is decent, tropical, fruity and a hint of pine but I do miss the hop bombs. The taste is nice, actually pretty good. The finish has a decent bitterness and is proceeded by orange rind, melon, grass and varnish. A good density in the drink. Still, give the people what they want.
3.5 Can from Kvickly @ Home. Pours hazy golden with a white head, light lacings. Aroma of malt, little bread, fruity hops, tropical fruit, mango, orange. Flavor is sweet, light bitter, malt, fruity hops, tropical fruit, mango, sweet citrus, light alcohol. Medium body, average carbonation, light sweet light bitter finish. 130821
3.6 12oz can in Benicia. Pours cloudy orange with a small off-white head, good lacing. Tropical fruit, pineapple, oranges and pine. Good
4.5 Pours hazy golden with a slight amber gue, medium white top, quickly dissipating. Steong aroma of mango, apricot, peaches, banana, sweet maltiness, pineapple. Very sweet with a hard sweet, low carbonated body. Sweetness if very strong and prevailing, the body and mouthfeel is very long lasting and at the end, a dry fresh finish leaves your mouth with a fruity back-end. Awesome experience
3.1 Light yellow body with thick white head. Citrus, honey, some orange zest, a bit malty.
3.6 12 oz. can, canned too long ago (almost a year ago — thanks for selling this to me Elizabeth Station), pours a cloudy bright orange with a medium white head. Aroma is surprisingly vibrant for the age, with chewy resinous hops, tropical fruits, pith, and caramel malt — albeit it a bit faded. Flavour is juicy, with lots of tropical fruits, resinous hops, juicy stone fruits, andy bready malt. For an old IIPA, the hops retain their freshness pretty nicely. Good stuff.
4.1 Sierra Nevada Fantastic Haze 9.0%. Hazy pale amber, tropical fruit aroma, full bodied, caramel malt, tropical fruit, mango, peach, melon, citrus, sweet lemon, complex flavours. Gorgeous Imperial IPA from Chico, California 🇺🇸
3.7 Blik 35,5cl in Den Haag. Tropisch fruit, mango, citrus, bitters, mandarijn, grapefruit, licht plakkerig. (27-6-2021).
3.8 Can 0.33L. Hazy orange color with big, long lasting, soapy white head. Aroma of ripe fruits, sweet malts and spice. Taste is light sweet/light bitter with ripe fruits, liquor notes, apricot. Finish is light bitter, spicy and warming. Not fantastic, but still very good.
3.1 A fenébe is: csalódtam. :-/
3.6 Hazy, burnt orange color with a white head. The aroma is fruity with melon and mango. It has a medium body with oily texture. The taste is bittersweet with a slightly sticky finish.
3.4 Can from Beer Hop. It pours hazy dirty orange with a decent white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, spicy mango salsa, apricot, peach, melon, floury bread, hay and sweat. The taste is intially dry, then it's bitter - sweet, ripe tropical fruits, apricot, mango, tinned peach, melon, slightly grainy, kick of boozy warmth, spicy sting, candy, gummy bears and sugary sweetness. Medium+ body and average carbonation. A touch sweet to be honest. It's fine, but I had hoped for a bit more.
3.8 355ml Dose. Orangefarben mit Trübung und mittelgroßer Schaumkrone. Aroma von Grapefruit mit etwas Malz. Ordentlicher Körper mit herben Abgang.
3.9 This Hazy IPA has a golden color with a long lasting white head. The aroma is tropical citrus and melon.
4.0 Uklar mørk gylden, højt hvid skum. Aroma er frisk humlet, smagen fyldig, rund bitter. Ganske god
3.4 How: Can. Where: Systembolaget. Appearance: Hazy golden colour with a white head. Aroma: Fruit, malt, grapefruit, citrus, pine, hops. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Malt, fruit, grapefruit, citrus, hops.
3.6 Gold hue, hazy with a frothing white head. Opaque. Juicy melon flavor. Easily drinkable at 9%. Rind, resin, melon, grapefruit. Tasty and thirst quenching. Not as good as Bell's Two Hearted or DFH90, Stone Ruination etc.
4.0 Goudoranje bier met witte schuimkraag. Geur van citrus en mouten. Mango, meloen, citrus. Wat mouten en hars op de achtergrond. Alcohol nauwelijks merkbaar. Mooie mix van fruitig zoet en bitter. Wel mijn smaak.
3.6 Can. An unclear dark golden beer iwth a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of exotic fruits, melons, lemons, hops, spices, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus fruits, spices, hops, pine needles, malt, and a bit of alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.
3.4 Medium hazy orange with a white hat. Fresh fruit juice, mango, citrus, papaya. Full, soft mouthfeel. Finish is lightly tart from the juiciness of the fruit notes but lacking much bitterness. A decent entry but a bit flabby.
3.3 Can. Cloudy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma of citrus fruits, mangos, apricots, wheat and honey with hints of melon and pineapple. Taste of citrus and stone fruits, oranges, caramel, honey and a little bit of melon. Juicy sweetness battles dry and tart bitter finish. Strong carbonation. Alcohol is present but well integrated. It’s ok I guess but I’m not really sure what they were aiming for with this one. Feels kinda disoriented. But then again maybe I‘m just not part of the target group.
