Sierra Nevada Glissade Golden Bock

Sierra Nevada Glissade Golden Bock

As winter begins its slide toward the sunny days of spring, we bring you Glissade Golden Bock to help you enjoy the ride. Glissade is a remarkably mellow take on the traditional spring bock. With restrained sweetness, we emphasize subtle malt flavor, balanced against delicate aromas of spicy and floral European hops. This complex balance helps Glissade slide across the palate—bracing us against the last cold nights of winter, while its bright golden color turns our thoughts toward spring.

3.7 2011 batch. Aroma is sweet, some hops and malt but something sweeter, like honey. Appearance is a nice gold. Taste is like scotch ale, sweet malt, honey, a hop bitterness. Palate is average, not too sharp and decently thick. Overall, for a two-year old beer, this is still pretty solid.
3.5 The head is ok, the body orange-brown. It smells a bit dry, alcoholic, dusty, fruity-creamy. taste is creamy, less hoppy, aromatic, mild but yeasty, interesting. Ok but this one was aged, so I would like to drink it again in a fresh Version. 12/11/12/11/12/11
3.3 Smak och doft av humle, malt, karamell, en aning smörig med örtiga toner. Lite för kraftfull beska som skymmer de fruktiga smakerna.
2.3 Not sure about this beer. Golden colour, minimal lacing. Malted rounds, pilsner like hops and some sort of honey and minor cloying agent.
3.1 A - Dark golden with a 1/2" thick head that vanished very quickly. No lacing at all. It looked like I was drinking apple juice. S - Intense sweet honey malt. Some caramel, bread, pear , and fig aromas come through as it warms. T - Honey, malt, heavy caramel, sweet grain, with a touch of bitterness to round it off. Not as much hop as I expected. Would have like a little more to bring it home. Smooth medium body. A little unbalanced but a very enjoyable brew. Serving type: bottle
3.6 oro maltato crosta di panme lieve mieloso bilanciata da una luppolatura non estrema ma elegante
3.2 1st July 2010 Bright clear gold beer, little white head. Light soft palate, a little dry. Even malt, dry and soft. A hint of peach and honey. A bit too much malt dominant but decent. Mild hop bitter aftertaste.
3.3 From tap @ Ølfestival København 2012. This one pours a clear golden body with a small sidesticking just off-white head. Light malty, kinda metallic on the aroma with some faint citrus and grape. The taste is kinda crisp with lots of grapy citrus. It’s soft to average carbonated and has a thin oily texture. Quite refreshing flavors. Light hoppy and sweet-fruity with some alcohol in the warming finish. A bit straight forward, but as a quencher, quite good! 10.05.2012
3.4 Draught. Mild caramelly aroma. Clear golden colour. White head. The flavour is very caramelly. Has a good semi-clean bitterness to balance.
3.0 Tap. Clear golden colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of hops, malt, caramel, fruit and with floral notes.
3.6 10-MAY-2012, bottle @DØE Ølfestival 2012. Golden, low beige head. Malty fruity nose. Fruity, sweet caramel taste with a little hops. Nice and simple, but tasty.
3.2 Sample from tap, CBF 2012. Clear golden colour with a thin white head Sweet aroma with malts and very light floral hops. Sweet taste with malt Medium body with a slick texture. Finishes sweet with some floral hop and a malts. Nice bock.
3.0 Tasting from October 2011. Chilled and into a straightwall. A very sunny amber gold it produces, bright as bright, and highly effervescent. Snow-white, loose head of foam crowns it; sudsy and fading. Buttery, doughy nose, slightly candyish like Starburst™ fruit lollies. Some pale caramel and biscuity malt comes through as does a little ethanol spice. Quite sweet on the tip of the tongue, a good malt profile, some grit an husk showing. Candyish fruit of the aroma is lost on the palate, a positive I suppose. Firm body, not too big or cloying, light in carbonation. Very clean throughout; a rough dusty malt swallow dries it out. Finish is short, earthy, sandy, and well spiced. Low to no hop bitterness. Easy to drink as a Helles Bock should be but lacking in depth. Another along the lines of a strong Euro lager. Criticisms aside it is remarkably quaffable. (12fl.Oz, 2011 release #100721237, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

3.0 Good for its style. It had a pleasant , hazy orange pour. Aromaos and tastes of pine, caramel malt with a hint of sweetness and soap. The finish was bitter, but nice.
3.0 this beer has a lighter hop taste then your normal sierra nevada. this feels like a good summer beer.
3.2 Bottle: Not a huge fan of heller bocks, but this was still a pretty good tasting beer.
3.1 (Bottle) Pours golden. The aroma holds honey candy, spicy/light grassy hops, apricots, hay, crackers and light butter. The flavour is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of hay, crackers, grass, spices and bread. The mouthfeel is clean with a light carbonation. Light touch of alcohol. Hoppy finish. Near medium bodied.
3.3 Has a rich golden color. Smell is dominated by malts. Taste is a good balance of malts and hops, easy drinking. Overall an enjoyable beer.
3.2 cloudy yellow, smooth white head. mild yeasty and slightly malty aroma. flavor is malty, hoppy, flowery.
3.2 Botlle: Slightly hazy golden beer with a small white head. Aroma is malty with floral hoppy notes. Taste is medium malty sweet and slightly spicy with a decent bitter finish and a medium body.
2.9 Bottled. A dark golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of dusty hops, over ripe fruits, and yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of bread, yeast, malt, over ripe fruits, and metal, leading to a dry finish. Not impressed.
3.3 Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours golden with a slight haze and a smallish off-white head. Clean malty nose. Solid malt base, clean sweet malts and perhaps a little sulphur. Dry and bitter finish. Appears fairly classic German. Solid and well made. 140212
3.6 Enjoyed from bottle at Blind Robin in Chicago, IL. Appearance is a cloudy gold with not much head. Aroma mostly malty with a light citrus hop presence. Taste is a brisk malt, bitter from hops, not bad, for Sierra Nevada and the style its good.
2.0 Short, almost no head. Pale golden color. Fruity aroma. The taste lacks malt for a bock. Much bitterness for a bock that lasts a long time. Mellow for a bock beer.
2.2 Bottled 350ml. Clear pale golden with a white head. A huge amount of boletus showing up in the nose. Caramel throughout. Sweet. Earthy hops. Very metallic. Surprisingly alcoholic for a 6.4 ABV beer. Not at all my kind of heller bock.
3.6 this beer has a lighter hop taste then your normal sierra nevada. this feels like a good summer beer.
3.3 A hazed orange amber bock with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with grassy hops, lightly piney, not bad. In mouth, a smooth caramel malt with nice grassy German hops, lingering bitterness, a bit thin, but overall, quite decent.
3.2 35,5 cl bottle @ Mallaskukko. Rated on 13.05.2011. Aroma is sweet with some ripe fruits, honey, hops and hints of alcohol. Flavour is stale and sweet with honey, fruits, hay and grainy malt. Some alcohol in the finish. Decent.
3.1 Into the glass pours a strong golden Bock with a fine, flat head. Strongly smell of sweet hops, grainy-malty aroma with slightly alcoholic nuances. Starts strong malty and grainy, slightly hoppy-sweet and very spicy. The middle part has a very slightly alcoholic note, paired with sweet grains and hops. Goes to a very grainy and hoppy-sweet finish!
