Sierra Nevada Hop Bullet Double IPA

Sierra Nevada Hop Bullet Double IPA

Hops are the name of the game with a Double IPA, but we knew we had to take it one step further. With Hop Bullet, we’re using a new technique, hitting the beer with a double-barreled blast of Magnum hops and lupulin dust—pure, concentrated hop flavor—directly into the tank to emphasize the intense pine and citrus flavors of classic West Coast hops.

3.0 330ml can. Pours orange gold with a medium head. Aroma is orange, caramel and pine. Taste has caramel and tea, with a bitter finish. Some herbal notes.
4.0 Clear golden colour with sizeable white head, fresh fruity hoppy aroma, pine fruity hoppy taste, medium carbonation. Very nice.
4.0 White head tops an amber color and a hoppy nose. Well-carbonated with a hoppy, butterscotch finish.
3.7 Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 29/12/20. Clear golden amber with a decent white head. Nose is bitter orange, grapefruit, pine needle, ripe melon, grass. Taste comprises orange pith, pine needle, grapefruit, citric tinged straw, mango, papaya. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with lightly aggressive balanced hop bitterness. Decent easy drinking and approachable old skool leaning DIPA.
3.5 24/12/2020. Bottle sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours clear very pale golden copper with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of hop ,grain, flowers, sweet stone fruits. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness, touch of tart. Moderate body, slightly oily, average carbonation.
3.6 Bottle: Poured a unclear golden with a frothy fluffy white head. Aroma is sweet hops, perfume, floral. Taste is bitter hops, more floral, light citrus, tingles astringent cleaner a bit on my tongue, burning.
3.7 Sometimes you don’t have to go over the top with hops for DIPA. This just takes their Torpedo and increases the hop and grain bill to give a lighter colour and crisper drinking beer. I’m sure regular readers know my love for Sierra Nevada and this reminds me that I really should drink more of their fine ales. You know when I’m in the states next I’ll be smashing their beers like no tomorrow.
3.4 Golden coloured with very large and frothy head. Full-bodied, fruity, hoppy, citric, grapefruity.
3.7 Can from HoTM. It pours clear golden - amber, with s thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh and piney, resinous, sticky, tangerine, orange marmalade, grapefruit, and some floral accents. The taste is dry, bitter, piney, resinous, slightly sticky, floral vibes, green, west coast were, peppery spice, hay, pithy, citrus peel, grapefruit and a touch of alcohol. Medium body, moderate carbonation and slightly sticky mouth feel as it warms. Pleasant and straightforward. Not much depth, but enjoyable nonetheless.
3.3 355ml can. Hazy orange color. Sweet, caramel, malty, alcohol, juicy in aroma/taste.
3.8 35.5cl blik. Helder goudgeel kleur, middelfijne romige witte schuimkraag. De geur is citrus en perzik. Smaak is zoet, droog citrus, ananas en gras. Medium body en veel koolzuur.
3.6 Ratebeer punted my rating into /dev/null great! Citrus, classic resin notes, peach, citrus, pine. Medium mellow, chewy body, light citrus peel grit. great middle way between the classics and the modern nonsense.
3.6 Hazy, golden 2XIPA, strong floral and pine hops. High octane with all the hallmarks of a Sierra Nevada beer. Part of a mixed 12 pack and even in a bottle.
3.4 355ml can. Sweetish, malty and caramely with hints of fruits, grassy hops and earthiness. Stuffy and unbalanced, doesn't feel very fresh.
3.4 12 fl. oz. can from Heimathaven, Oldenburg. Hazy golden in the glass, one finger foamy white head. Floral hopy smell, some tropical fruity background. Taste starts with a strong hop bitterness, fruity, pine, burnt malt, licorice. Long lasting bitterness with some honey in the aftertaste.
3.6 Can. Golden. Quite nice classic american ipa on nose, malty caramels, green citrus and a good deal of pine. Med full bodied, well blended bitters. Clean and nicely fermented.
3.9 19.2 oz can. Big green hop smell under the tab. Fresh pine resin and a bit of tropical fruit in the nose as it pours into the glass. Gold beer color with only a slight haze, under a frothy white head. Big IPA taste, yes. But pretty "clean" is how I might describe it. The hops are powerful, but still pleasant. I get a slight chocolate edge too, who can say if it's just me or the beer? This big can was 2 for $5 at Jewel, so quite a bargain for a big, happy beer.
3.5 19.2 oz can, poured clear golden with huge white head. Medium bodied, oily mouthfeel. Pine and slight citrus aroma. Very resinous taste, little fruitiness to be found. Spicy medium bitter finish.
3.4 Strong sweet floral hop aroma. Cloudy orange color with a large white head. Beginning has a sweet flavor with a moderate bitter finish and hints of alcohol in the end.
3.0 Bottle from Total Wine & More. Pours golden with a medium white head. Aroma is strong pine with hints of citrus. Flavor is heavy hops - more bitter than I typically like in a DIPA. Just OK.
3.5 Smell of hops, some spruce. Amber colour, high white head. Aroma of spruce, hops, some alcohol sweetness. Bitter, sweet. Flat carbon.
3.4 A very old fashioned IPA. Lots of pine and grapefruit with some stone fruits. Heavy hitting. Pleasant but not inspirational.
3.5 12 fl. oz. can from Alko Ympyrätalo, Helsinki. Golden, clear, big head. Bitter grapefruit with some spicy South American dark chocolate. Alcohol smoothes the bitterness to make this balanced.
3.6 Clear golden color with off-white head. Aroma has pine, needles, grapefruit. Taste is malty sweet with long bitter and dry aftertaste. Flavors of pine, needles, grapefruit and some herbs.
3.2 Bottle with commonmac. Dark golden with medium white head. Soapy bitter nose. Slightly piney, but kinda flat. Quick finish.
3.7 12oz can consumed with commonshawn. Golden with a hue of orange. Quarter finger of white head. Nose is piney and resiny with citrus rind bitterness. Taste carries a West Coast vibe with plenty of pine and citrus bitterness. Relatively oily mouthfeel. Grapefruit and resin. Feels a little boozy which surprises me. Overall it's a heavy hop-handed affair and I would drink it again.
4.0 330ml bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with a medium off white head. Punchy aroma of grapefruit, mandarin orange, mango, pineapple. Flavour is equally as strong with large tropical fruit notes, hay, slight bit boozy, very slight bit of vanilla.
3.6 Can 355ml at home. From Alko web shop. Pours cloudy yellow with white head. Flavor has malts, citrus, grapefruit, pine, slightly boozy, bitter hops. Medium body, oily texture, fresh bitter finish.
3.4 355ml can from Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. Shared with Finn. Decent white head over a misty warm golden body, clingy lacing. Restrained aromas of lemony hops, hints of spices. Rather rich hop fruity flavours of lemon and apricot followed by a bitter fruity tail. Well bodied. Likable. (Bergstua, Malangen 18.06.2020).
3.4 Can from Alko. Clear golden with strong head. Nose of citrus, resin, grass. Taste follows suit with a medium caramel body. Sticky palate, medium body, a long sweet finish.
