Sierra Nevada Sidecar Orange Pale Ale

Sierra Nevada Sidecar Orange Pale Ale

We love hops with a bright, citrus-heavy character. The result is this new take on the hoppy pale ale brewed with Cascade, Equinox, and Mandarina hops with a hint of orange peel from additions in both the brew kettle and the fermenter.

3.2 355ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey, deep golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Rather weak, somehow rarefied, citrusy hoppy aroma, hints of orange, orange zest, a touch of mandarine. Taste is citrusy and bitter hoppy, zesty, minimally diluted notes of orange peel, orange, hints of mandarine. Light, almost a bit watery.
3.4 Draught (O'Connor's, Uppsala) - Light amber with a foamy head and a slight haze. Orange peel, lemon and some floral notes in the aroma. Citrussy taste with orange peel, marmalade and some slightly floral, dusty and resinous notes.
3.3 Pours bright orange, pleasant citrus and hops aroma but that is the best part of the beer, light hops but taste more pine than citrus, gonna go with an upfront macerated cardboard taste, light mouthfeel, tap.
3.5 bottled. pours did not see. aroma is orange and tangerine. similar taste with a hint of malt and hop bite
3.3 12 oz bottle in pint glass A: clear light yellow with fine Lacey head that lingers A: sweet malty lemon citrus T: mild sweet, mild bitter, no sour P: light body, med carb, smooth thin texture, bitter late finish O: easy drinking summer IPA but not IPA enough for me
3.2 Bottle at KØ18. Weak fruity aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is fruity and mineraly. Low bitterness. Fruity and unharming.
3.3 Crisp and clean. Orange tint on top of citrus hops. Touch of honey. Medium body.
2.7 I don’t want no fruit in my fuckin beer. Leave your base as it is. The regular is way better than this.
3.0 Bottle @ Pop House Hotel, Stockholm 20180502. Fruity and hoppy with oranges, medium body. The finish is bitter and fruity.
3.2 resin, floral, grass, spruce, citrus, herbs, pale, golden, amber, orange, light sweetness, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, medium bitterness, very bitter, lightly sour, medium sourness,
3.3 Bottle... Pours clear and yellow with a mid-sized, frothy white head. The aroma features orange peel, white bread and resin. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. The flavor is moderately bitter, biscuity and citrusy. Finishes crisp and clean with low bitterness and a modest measure of dryness.
2.9 12 oz bottle at home. Pours a clear golden amber color, with a white head. The aroma is earthy sweet orange. The flavor is bitter with no orange at all. It is not smooth, I wish there was more orange and a better flavor.
3.0 bottley enjoyed outside. citrus notes perceptible right when opening a bottle. very hoppy overall but lacking balance from malts. average carbonation but quite 1 dimensional after all.
3.1 2018 rating. Had in the bottle. Much sweeter than I’d expected. Not a favorite
3.0 Amber/orange ale with a white head. Medium carbonation and a hint of orange rind taste
2.5 Not terrible. Not sure if I'm a fan of the orange infused beers or not. Would probably buy again but not a case.

2.7 12 oz. bottle. Pour was amber/orange with a white head. Aroma of citrus, oranges, pine. Taste was medium bitter, orange, fruit rind, pine, bitter finish.
2.4 From 16oz can to snifter. Pour is a slightly cloudy orange, thick white head. Nose is subtle hop, citrus, resin. Taste is light-medium bodied, bitter. Very ok beer.
3.0 355 ml bottle bought at City Super in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui. Clear amber orange colour; Half finger head with soapy off-white foam which lasts for 40 seconds; Excellent sticky lacing with active slight carbonation; Fragrant aroma of Ale malt, with strong tangerine, citrus, orange peel, floral, sugar, bread and light grass; Close to light sweet taste of fair Ale malt, with grains, light grapefruits, orange peels, floral, sugar notes, spices, herbs, dry biscuits, lemon, fair bitter hops and grass; Close to medium body. Very slick palate; Mouth feel is fair Ale maltyness in a pretty thick and grainy background. Skeletal grapefruit aside there's not much hop fruityness, only orange peels to perk it up. Flowery with low sweetness, Spicy herbal biscuity with lemon to round. Simple... Hoppiness is tangerine, citrus, orange peel, floral and light grass in nose. Light grapefruits, floral, spices, herbs, lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is fair for an abrupt, mid to low astringent bitter fair malty finish; Fairly dry after taste. Citrusy spicy and quite bitter to mouth. Comments: Thought this one will be an all-out orange blitz, but it fell short: there's tangerine in hops aroma but feel more chemy than lively, and without the barely decent orange peels, there's nothing outstanding for the hops. More like a Session IPA than an APA, drinkable but disappointing.
3.4 Bottle from Craftbeer-Shop.com. Clear orange with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, orange and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 230218
3.5 smooth and tasty brew. mild hop, mild malt, well balanced. fruity kick. dope
3.3 Klares Orangegold mit reichlich Schaum. Malzig, fruchtig, reichlich Orangen, Zitrusfrüchte, Orangenschale, im Abgang leicht herb.
3.2 Draft at Macs. Hazy orange pour with slim off-white foam. Big artificial orange flavor. The underlying moderately hoppy APA is actually quite good but the orange feels forced. Like a couple spoonfuls of Tang was spooned in. Drinkable but I cannot help seeing the bright orange flashing light.
3.5 Bottle. Misty golden pour. Moderate white head. Aroma: pale malts, meadow flowers, minor tangerine. Medium body. Bittersweet taste. Well-balanced. Pale malts. Orange peel present. Medium grapefruit bitterness. Decent finally.
3.2 355ml bottle from Beerometr in Moscow. Pours amber with a medium-sized white head. Aroma is malt, oranges, bread. Taste is medium bitter, bready malt, orange peel. I prefer the regular APA.
