Sierra Nevada Snow Wit White IPA

Sierra Nevada Snow Wit White IPA

You don’t need a magic mirror to see the lure of this beer. It’s brewed with seven varieties of experimental dwarf hops. These hops are so called because of their uncommon growing method—shorter hedgerows rather than tall trellis systems—that yields a denser heap of cones with unique flavors that diverge from their full-grown botanical counterparts. Each year new and different varieties are grown in this method, creating untried and exciting shifts in hop character.

3.4 Poured from the bottle into a plastic cup to drink. The beer had a hazy and cloudy off-gold color with a good-sized foamy white head with good retention, cling, and lacing. Its aroma featured a mix of citrus and zesty notes, along with some spice, fruits, and a bit of yeast and pine. The beer had a modest citrus and wheat taste with some bitterness and a bit of spice. It had good carbonation and life with a filling mouthfeel and slightly dry body.
3.7 Draft - Lots of bright citrus, especially lemon zest. Hazy light gold with a decent white head. Bright citrus hops, perfume and effervescent with a nice bitterness. Nice.
3.4 Not a fan of the aroma. Kind of skunky with some wheat. I was really surprised when I took a sip. The flavor is completely different from the aroma, and there’s a solid hop flavor and bitterness.
3.0 12oz bottle. Poured a golden color with an averaged sized head. Citrus, some cloves, fruity and a bit earthy.
3.1 Light golden pour with white head and minimum lacing. Hoppy aroma. Light hoppy, bitter taste
3.2 Golden/orange with a massive head and sticky lacing. Yeast, marmalade and coriander aroma. Flavors pass fairly quickly on the way to a long, building bitterness. Fine but not my thing. Bottle.
3.2 pours a clear straw gold with a small white head. Aroma is light spice. Taste is bizzare. hop bitter, but spicy. Like coriander or something. Long finish leaves that semi bitter non-deScript spice taste lingering for a long time. The dwarf hops really give it a unique flavor profile. But it works. Not my style, but it’s pretty good.
3.8 Had a bottle at Christmas 2015. Nice blend of wheat sweetness and IPA hoppy bitterness.
3.3 Bottle - Pours a cloudy deep yellow with orange highlights with a fairly creamy head. Aroma like a wheat beer with some citrus notes. It taste like a wheat with citrus hops flavors. Interesting, ell made beer.
3.0 12 Fl OZ ($14.99 assorted 12 pack) this was a pretty good beer. very light and easy going. Don’t think IPA at all when you’re going into it. Sierra Nevada has a lot of better beers than this though.
3.4 Bottle. Pours hazy golden, white head, decent lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast, coriander, citrus, pine, hay. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, lots of Belgian yeast, pine. Medium body, lingering bitterness
3.4 Bottle. Hazy golden color with thick white head and substantial lacing. Earthy citrus and pine aroma with hint of lemon. Lemon citrus with some subtle earthy, piney notes in the finish.
3.8 Bottle via sampler pack. I’ve been sticking with SN due to the reasonable pricing of their products and have not been let down. Straight from bottle, three times in a row. A nice spicy nose. Gentle body ringed with gentle wheat and yeast tang. light undulation.. decent basement beer.
3.7 Bottle. Very Belgian nose to this, as I get some banana and clove over top of some floral hoppiness. Taste is quite bitter and fairly dry, but just a very fresh crisp drink.
3.7 Poured in snifter from bottle. Soft malt body with a sharp hop finish with coriander and straw.
3.1 Bottle. I thought that this was more of a Wit than an IPA. Taste was dominated by the Belgian yeasts, with some grapefruit hops as a finishing kicker. The palate was medium. Decent but not great.
3.5 Bottle to tumbler. Slightly hazy golden yellow. moderate white head with some lacing. Aroma is lemon, coriander, yeast , slight funk. Taste is white bread, mild citrus, baking spice, hop bitterness that is subdued for a SN IPA. Light mouthfeel. Nearly sessionable.
3.6 Bottle. Cloudy straw gold with frothy white head and lacing. Floral aroma with spices and citrus flavorings. Light bitterness. Taste more like Belgian Ale then a IPA.
3.0 Bottle from SB. An IPA with maybe a little too little taste. It is wasy to drink, but not one of my favourites.
3.7 Pours a hazy light caramel amber with a half finger pure white head with great retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of wheat, coriander, light citrus. Flavor is an interesting combination of wheat and coriander with light citrus and piney hops. Finishes with light lemon and grapefruit hops. Medium bodied with nice peppery carbonation. An off beat and tasty IPA/ witbier, enjoyable.
3.2 BOTTLE. Hazy yellow pour with thin white head.. Sticky honey & orange traits on the nose.. Lemon & other citrus flavour up front going into a subtle hoppy finish..
3.2 @ Agards väg 24/6-15. Fruity with hoppy and citrusy notes, also light spicy. Body is medium, the finish is dry and fruity.
3.3 Bottle given to me by a brewing buddy. Pours a true golden copper, fluffy white head, lotsa lacing. Nose is a little malt, touch of hop. Tastes sweet, a little spice, bitter, manly pine hop. Not really getting a wheaty taste that I would expect.
3.3 Bottle from Plonk (July 2014). Hazy pale orange, 2cm white head, doughy, grassy aromas, grapefruit, wheat malt, medium bitterness, ok.
3.5 Flaska, ebest från SB. Dimmig oklar vätska med ett stort vitt skum. Dofter av örter, citrus, jäst, gräs. Smakinslag av citrus, örter, gräs, apelsin och vete. Torr munkänsla. Medelbeska.
3.7 Golden color, white head. Fruity esters nose, yeast, mandarin orange, coriander. Sweet taste, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pepper, light bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation.
3.4 Bottle from SB. Cloudy orange with a huge white head. Fruity and spicy tones. fruit, malt, spices and hops. Medium body with a nice dry finish.
3.7 Poured from bottle, cloudy orange with medium white head. Aroma with notes of bread, banana, herbs and some citrus. Taste is fresh bitter sweet, a nice bitterness developing and leading to a long bitter finish. Really nice!
3.4 12 oz. bottle at home from notes. Pours a hazy pale, golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have wheat malts, coriander, floral character, some sweetness, bread, and mild citrus. Light bodied, moderate carbonation and a dry, malty mouth feel. Average for the style.
