Sierra Nevada Summerfest

Sierra Nevada Summerfest

Summerfest is a delightfully refreshing example of a traditional style lager beer. While lighter in body than our ales, Summerfest displays significant hop aroma and a tangy hop bite. The long lagering period adds a smoothness that makes this beer a great summertime treat.

3.6 Bottle. Pours bright clear gold. Cereal, bright lime, lemon, grapefruit zest, bit of earthy hop spice, clean finish. Medium body. Nice.
4.3 Crispt but not better like I was expecting. Very good
2.8 Bottle poured into a pilsner glass. Clear gold with lots of bubbly carbonation and a white head. Aroma is a little funk and pilsner malt. Initial taste is pilsner malt. Fades to the same. Unoffending. Very standard if this is your thing.
3.0 Clear gold. Pretty white head. Aroma: good malts, additional American hop. Medium body. Taste: clean malts, hops, a strange suspicion of weizen yeast. I hope I'm wrong.
3.9 Ar: Hay and grainy malt; dried roses and dried herbs; slight biscuit. Ap: Pale gold and slightly hazy; large white head with very good retention, slowly dropping as a cap of air foam with a tiny curtain of lacing. T: Fresh crackers; black licorice, black pepper, and dried-herb hop notes; a bit of chalk; clean fermentation profile; a hint of toast; bitterness is medium-high; more crackers, bitters, and black licorice on the finish. M: Light body with very high carbonation; firm and steely; very dry finish. O: A well-made summer lager; big hop bite, but very European-tasting at the same time; fresh and delicious.
2.9 Found out of bottle. Pours a clear golden. Light white foam. Pleasant on a hot summer day. Not a bad shower beer.
1.8 Didn't expect much and was seriously disappointed all the same. Appearance was light golden with a couple inches of white foam if you hard pour. Aroma was lemon, grapefruit, and sugar with a hint of piss. Taste was the same. Water and minor hop on the back end. Nothing at all to return to this beer for. I want my 2 bucks back.
2.9 Bottle into tulip. Almost no head on the pour that quickly vanished. Not much aroma. Taste is pretty unremarkable. Perhaps some mild piney citrus hop notes in there somewhere if I was feeling generous. A little tingle and that is about it. Got weather quaffing beer that is a step up from the macro crap is about it.
3.8 Clear gold with lots of visual carbonation in the form of tiny bubbles. Light body with fair amount of hop bitterness. Smooth crisp finish.
3.6 Yea noice
3.3 6-23-19 Lighthouse Liquors, Fenwick, DE (w/crab @ Rusty Jimmies)
3.5 12 oz can. Pours a nice gold with a thin white head. Malt forward scents with some pils notes. Good sour hops start with a crisp clean mouthfeel. Classic lingering finish with sours. Medium carbonation. Very drinkable summer beer. Solid effort.
4.1 Crisp and refreshing. A little bready on the finish but definitely a satisfying hot weather thirst quencher. A favorite when the days start to warm up.
3.4 Smells like wheat and malt. Clear lager. Taste is barley, light hop and malt, dryness on the finish. Reminds me of an asahi.
2.9 It is what it is. Kind of Kolsch-ie...kind of lagery......very summery. Flavor and feel are ok, but not much appearance or aroma. I hadn't sampled yet because I was wondering if good enough to get a 12. Glad I only sampled a single first. Rather go with their spring beer, Ruthless Rye, the Kellerweis, or just a plain ole SNPA...or Torpedo of course!
2.0 Low to mid grade beer. An okay IPA hybrid. Get old after around three of them. Good to have in the summer on a warm night. But just one.
2.8 355ml bottle. 2018 vintage. Pours a clear straw colour with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that laces. Aroma of grainy malt, vegetal, bread, lemongrass and floral hops. Sweet flavour of bready malt, grain, lemon rind, bitter grass and pepper with a crisp, dry, floral hop finish. Light to medium body with a watery texture and average carbonation. An ok Czech Pilsner.
3.4 pours clear straw gold with a medium white head. aroma of pale malt, grass, hay. Nice crisp clean taste. semi-sweet finish and linger. Good lager!
2.9 Pours hazy with a thick white head. Aroma of hops. Tastes like a pilsener with a distinct hoppiness that isn’t typical of the style. Palate of hops and light citrus. Bready influences. Typical Sierra Nevada version of a pilsener.
4.2 Estupenda Ipa fresca em botella ,!
3.2 Twelve ounce bottle - a pretty mediocre beer coming from a great brewery like Sierra Nevada. Pours a golden color, two finger head, medium hops.
3.8 Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a white head. Aroma and taste of hay and citrus with a good bitter finish.
3.0 On tap at Das Biergarten. Clear golden. Smells of spicy hops and a touch of grain. Tastes of fruity hops up front and the spicy hops are lost. A bit of sweet bready malt. No bitterness. Light body. It's fine, but kinda bland.
3.0 Bottle from 7-11. Clear golden. Light caramel, hay, slightly dry. A bit grassy. Clean and well drinkable.
1.8 I've been to Summerfest so I ought to know: Iron Maiden rules, and so does Blatz. This stuff, not so much. On the other hand it does not taste like rancid cat piss, so I guess that's a positive. Or not. So when your're tooling on down the highway of life to see Iron Maiden in concert stick with the beverage that has been keeping people confused, lost and in the dark for over 150+ years: BLATZ. That's the key to making America Great Again.
3.0 400ml on tap at Spielbeerg in Moscow. Pours slightly hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruit, pine. Taste is malt, grassy hops, grapefruit, light to medium bitter. Not a classic pilsner.
2.3 Overall a very bland beer, nothing that you wouldn't expect from a store brought brand
2.8 Nothing special. No character to speak of. Sorry, I had to upload these old ratings. They were for me, not for uploading. And also I need 75 characters, hence this sentence.
4.0 Summerfest is lighter in body than most Sierra Nevada beers but fits right in as a very refreshing traditional lager. This beer displays significant hop aroma for a Pilsner. As you should expect with a lager it has a smoothness that makes this beer very drinkable on a warm day.
