Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA

Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA

Sierra Nevada and hops go hand in hand. What began as a crazy idea scribbled in a pub eventually became our newest year-round hop bomb, Torpedo Extra IPA. The first beer to feature our “Hop Torpedo”—a revolutionary dry-hopping device that controls how much hop aroma is imparted into beer without adding additional bitterness. Torpedo Extra IPA is an aggressive yet balanced beer with massive hop aromas of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit. 17°

4.3 Rigtig god Extreme IPA. Sierra Nevada laver gode øl
5.0 Nice flavor, some back bite
3.4 bottle @ különleges sörök boltja (budapest) orange colour, normal body, average carbonated, white head, bittersweet, fruity, citrus, bit malty, dry in the end, easy to drink
3.8 Bottle. Pours amber with a decent white head. Aroma & flavor of pine, citrus, caramel and grapefruit.
3.7 Gul som flytande honung, svagt hazy. Mustigt skum. Svagt fruktig doft, lite malt. Mellanfyllig, apelsinskal, ngt mango.

3.3 Off white creamy head. Deep amber colour. Aroma is hoppy with caramel, fruity (nuts and tangerine) notes. Flavor is moderately hoppy with caramel and dried fruits tones, ending in an hoppy finish. Medium bodied.
4.1 Strong Californian beer with fine head. Dark amber with good balance of hops and malt.
3.7 35,5cl can bought in Rome drinking 2/11/2021 packaged 06.15.21 BB 15/06/2022 Pours a mostly clear reddish amber/copper body with medium sized bubbly and frothy white foam and great lacing. Strong aroma of sweet malt, citrus, grapefruit, orange, and resinous, dank and piney hops, some caramel. Taste is smooth and sweet enough at first with a good malt and caramel base, fresh notes of citrus, grapefruit and orange peel, herbal and honey grassy notes, high 7.2% abv and a resinous, piney dank hops pretty bitter finish that I really like. Resinous hoppy aftertaste bitter but also warm fruity and sweet enough. Smooth and really drinkable. Medium body, oily texture and average to more than average carbonation. Really pleasant and enjoyed it but would love to try again as fresh as possible. Nice bitter american IPA.
3.6 Can from B&B Beverage, Doylestown, PA. Poured into a glass. Slight citrus aroma. One finger off white head. Reddish Orange color. Nice bitterness, not harsh. Slight citrus flavor, not much sweetness. A nice overall taste.
4.1 Early rating from Beer Buddy app
3.4 Bottle from Whole Foods Market, Piccadilly, London. Pour is clear copper, medium white head. Aroma is grapefruit, alcohol, orange candy. Taste fruity piney hops, grapefruit, orange candy, caramel hard candy. This was he classic before the craft beer explosion and the New England singularity. Felt very hoppy, bitter and extravagant back then, my palate has moved on obviously, as this doesn't taste very bitter at all. It's still a textbook West-coast IPA, my slight disappointment is the alcohol expression which shouldn't be there, but maybe this is because it's imported and the hops have faded. Still good, but hard to find.
Aroma a lúpulo y caramelo.
3.2 Ok good, hoppy, bitter, strong, not bad

3.7 First had these in 2012. In fact, this was what had originally got me smitten with IPA. It's been a long time, and I've had some AMAZING IPA's since then, but this is still a solid brew. Malty, hoppy and fairly balanced. It's not the greatest of all-time but it's a safe buy on a budget. 6.8/10
3.4 Good foam. Nose. Moderate, fruit, citrus, a little pine needles, sourness. Taste. Very clean and balanced, sweet malt, caramel, fruity notes. steep aftertaste, pleasant, long-lasting bitterness.
3.6 Bevuta in bottiglia. Tipica IPA molto aromatica.
Aroma malt humle sitrus. Smak malt karamell humle søte frukter. Middels fyldig og lett bitter, men for søt. Flaske kjøpt på Vinmonopolet Jekta
3.5 Very flavorful! A bit heavier but nice
3.6 Appearance is amber, clear, a half-finger beige head. Aroma is caramel malt, hops, fruitcake, bit of orange. Taste is bitter hops, malty, fluffy smooth malt, orange peel, more hop bitterness comes in, boozy fruit at the end.
3.2 It's easy to drink
4.1 Surprisingly smooth for hoppiness in a torpedo, but layers of complexity and malt backbone make this a sophisticated pallet of hop.
3.6 moderate bitterness. a medium hoppy. Fragrance is weaker than I thought.
3.8 Amber golden. Healthy colors. Well developed 2 finger head which is slow to fade. A hanging but otherwise watery lacing. Moderately cloudy through the vibrant color. An even effervescence. Refreshing fragrance, they say citrus? Not subtle. Maybe a little wood, forest like. Taste is right on the tongue bitter, strong hop tastes but not cloyingly. The hop is striking and does remain in a heavy finish. Retains a quality beer aspect through and through. Cannot go wrong with this beer.
3.8 Aromas of citrus and spruce; taste is a good combination of mild sweetness and bitterness. Pretty good classic west coast IPA.
