3.3 Pours a bright golden color with a foamy white head that stays forever. Copious lacing, steadily rising bubbles and a bit of that cloudy Belgian appearance. Aroma is malty and slightly fruity, hints of banana. Flavor is sweet with only a touch of aromatic hops. Good body, lively carbonation. I like it! Nice beer and it’s named after me!
2.3 25 cl. bottle @ home. Purchased @ Willems. BBF end 2013. Clear light golden, creamy white head. Smells basically exactly like Kidibul (non-BA champagne-like soda drink for kids, don’t ask, it’s a real thing in Belgium & it is quite yummy), I am not going to state anything else because it is disturbingly identical. It doesn’t taste like Kidibul however or at least it is too different. Taste is sweet, sugar, watered down cava, green apples soft drink, sweet grains, spritzy, mineral heavy sparkling water, cava-like alcohol in the finish. Very high carb. bit watery. Very weird – what is this? Maybe people who like cava will like this more? Very different but not in a good way.
3.5 25cl bottle bought @ 8ième fête de la bière namuroise. BB end/2014.
4.0 This is a better beer than most of the ratings. I bought this beer half price at the bierkoning in Amsterdam and was pleasantly surprised by its tartness and crisp citrus finish. Medium body. A bit watery, but not overwhelmingly so. Definitely worth the price in this occasion at least.
2.9 citrusy and grassy hops and lots of grain. bright and crisp and slightly tart but fairly watery.
3.2 Sale bottle from Sam’s. Hazy yellow with greenish-grey tint. Nose is grassy hops, grain, slightly fermented apple juice. Fizzy and light. Nothing special, but refreshing. Hell, I liked it. Not worth full price but not bad on sale.
2.3 Light yellow to an almost green colour, little to no head. Smells unresh and weird. Tastes nasty, weird, sweet and liquor. Too much carbo also.
2.3 Bottle @ DutchDrebus, thanks for sharing. Yellow / light green color (WTF : ), no head. Smell apple not much more. Weird taste, no details to distinguish. Low carbo and body. Very weird beer, not nice.
3.5 A blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, light lactic wheat, very nice and herbaceous, chalky notes. In mouth, a nice saison like beer with sweet malt, coriander, oily, smooth, some orange pulp, bubbly mouthfeel. Bottle at Mondiale 2011, June 11 2011.
(Rating #3710)
2.1 A: The beer pours a hazed golden color with a tint of orange and a thin white head. S: Starts off with honey and bread notes, and a nice floral note. However, the more you smell it, the more stale and cardboardy it becomes. Light grass notes are also present. T: Things are pretty much the same with the flavor, except the grass and cardboard are more pronounced the entire time. Light honey and bread sweetness can’t salvage this one. M: Medium in body with a medium level of carbonation. O: Too bad as this sounded interesting.
Test vom 8.10.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,10,11,8,12,10 - 9,95
3.8 Bottle from Belgisk Bryg. Cloudy golden colour with a small white head. Aroma and flavour of grain, fruit, caramel and spelt.
3.2 Light golden in live white foam. Sweet, yet fresh aroma of dough-bread and ripe banana. Fresh, light tart flavor with an almost salty note. not as sweet as the aroma suggests. Light body. Dry end. Very drinkable - in small quantities.
3.1 tasting on 3/19/11. cloudy white pour with a thin white head. lemon / orange nose. medium body with more lemon notes along with orange rinds, grapefruit and sweet grains. sweet raisin finish with lemon notes.
3.8 750ml bottle. It pours a hazy gold with a fluffy bright, white head. It recedes decently quickly with some lacing. Typical for the style. The smell is heavy on the orange and corriander. The spelt brings a bit more musty earthiness than the average wheat. The flavor is surprisingly tart and not as sweet as most for the style. It reminds me of a heartier version of Blanche de Namur. The flavor doesn’t hold as well as it could, the carbonation is high and the flavor rolls of the tongue quicker than I would like Ill take it over Hoegaarden any day. 2.7 Bottle. Two pours. First half poured clear amber. Second half poured apple cider. Nose of caramel malt, wheat, grain and candi sugar. Taste of grain, caramel malt and wheat. A bit yeasty at times.
3.4 head: lacing, creamy, thin colour: blond/ hazy with slight touch of pink smell: grapefruit, yeast, floral, bit of bubblegum, grains , wheats taste : sweet grainy start, sweetcorn, champagne ,yeast, some touch of sourness, milky, malts for sure, skunky taste afterwards, end is dry and floral , aftertaste is sour , quite enjoyable ! 3.1 Bottle from Mitra Bergen. Murky orange body with nice head. Herbal, malty nose. Taste citrus, bananas, hops and spelt. Smooth and poppy. Well done.
2.6 Quite a light and fruity spelt beer with a smokey, appley aftertaste. I’ve had better spelt beers.
3.2 Bottle 0,75ltr: Hazy yellow brew with the use of spelt, its gots an fruity, flowery taste.
3.8 Pours hazy golden with a thin wispy white head. Notes of soft yeasty esters, pear, honey malt, light biscuit and champagne. Medium bodied with lush and lively carbonation.
2.9 Light hazy blond coloured beer with little carbonation and a short to non-existing white head. Light herby touched aroma with a slight hoppy hint. Medium to full palate. Finish is light bitter herby touched with a dry herby ending. Medium one.
3.0 Multiples samples of this over the years, most recent bottle at Pre-Sex. Earthy, hazy pour with tons of sediment and tons of sticky foam. The mildest of barnyard aromas promises some character but ultimately it’s the odd grain that emerges as the dominant aroma. Medium bodied, lively mouthfeel. Some sweet floral flavors seem to hover around the edges of the bready flavors. Not bad, but not worth seeking out.
3.3 250ml bottle from Utobeer. Slightly hazy, pale gold in colour with plenty of fizz and a big, frothy white head. Aroma of lemon, orange peel, grain, coriander and yeast. Full mouth feel, with alcohol fairly prominent and chunky flavours of the barnyard , pineapple and bready malts, before a dryish finish. Good.
3.0 Hazy yellow with a small but solid white head that leaves alittle bit of lazing on my tulip. Aroma is fresh lemony with notes of grass and yeast. Flavour is lemon, yeasty fruity esters, wheat like with a balanced lemon lingering ending. Mouthfeel is quite fizzy, body is light. Pretty ok and refreshing.
3.0 Bottle. Unusal beer, it is without a doubt Belgium beer. Nice citrus smell and flavor but subtle and not great.
2.9 Bottle at home. Cloudy yellow coloured with a medium sized white head. Fruity aroma of coriander, spices and citrus peel with notes of oranges and barnyard. Fruity flavour of spices, citrus and citrus peel. Citric finish. Light bodied.
