Silly Saison

Silly Saison

Saison style top fermentation old brown beer. Its taste is remarkable, light and favourably combined to offer a tone that is both modestly sweetened and fruity, leaving the mouth with a refreshing feel as is constantly asked of it.

3.6 Cerveza muy dulce. De baja carbonatación. Color ámbar oscuro.
3.8 Bottle, 330 ml. Dark brown colour, moderate CO2. Smells caramel, apple, christmas spices on the nose. Sweet forest fruits soaked in carameln light biscuit, low IBU, kind of a dessert beer with low alcohol content. It's also citrusy on the palate, so the concept os like sweet notes on the nose and on the palate also, but undertoned with a citrus aromas. Man, i would be very confused on this one on blind. Great beer, big support!
3.3 Robe ambrée, légère mousse blanche. Nez frais, caramel léger. Goût sucré, légère acidité, fruit noir. Un peu sucrée pour une saison.
3.3 Dark brown beer, small head. Aroma is malt, caramel, metal. Taste is the same, iron taste, sweet, bitter. ok
3.4 330ml bottle at ORB Belgium Beer Festival 2018. Pours a reddish golden-brown colour with thin tan head and fruity, yeasty aroma. Taste is sweetish malty, grainy, bready, earthy with tangy berry fruit & yeast notes and some bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry earthy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
4.9 la saison parfaite
3.5 F: big, pale tanned, average retention. C: dark coppery against the light, almost clear. A: malty, caramel, mellow fruity, bit herbal, almost bit vinous. T: malty, sweet fruity, bit nutty, herbal, bit bread, bit red grapes, unusual Saison for me, but as a beer good balanced, enjoyed, medium body and carbonation, 33cl bottle from Rob The Gourmets' Market in Brussels.
3.1 A dark brown beer, a head is quite small and beige. Aroma has fruitness of raisin and prune with their sweetness, some spicyness. Taste has raisin, dark breadyness, low spicyness and sourness. Medium bodied. Quite fresh, but otherwise, it's difficult think this as a saison.
3.3 33 cL bottle. Pours a clear, ruby-brown color, with a small, tan head. The aroma is molasses, sweet cherries, lemon zest, cloves, and a bit of cocoa. Very sweet flavor, and no bitterness. Light body, very crisp and acidic. This is a fair saison, but overly sweet and simple.
2.4 Sötét réz-szín, kicsi, gyorsan elolvadó hab. Karamelles, égetett cukros illat, némi gyümölcsös felhanggal. Édeskés, karamelles alap, egy határozott, halványan savanykás, gyümölcsös ízkombóval kiegészülve. Könnyed, frissítő, közepesen szénsavas, enyhén kesernyés. Kellemes, édeskés ivósör, kissé kellemetlen, enyhén égett utóízzel és a saisonokra jellemző ízvilág teljes hiányával.
2.2 Very weird, tastes and smells like an ashtray, too artificially sweet. There’s probably more to it but the ashtray really kills it for me.
3.1 From old tasting notes. Labeled as "Saison Speciale Artisinal Belgian Ale". Clear orange copper color with champagne-like bubbles and a huge creamy yellowish head. Tart citrus hop aroma is subtle yet distinctive. Foretaste is bitter hops, almost astringent in nature. Midtaste becomes bittersweet. Finish is dry and spicy. Very bitter for the style.
2.9 Appearance: Dark reddish brown, clear. Some light tan head. Aroma: Some medium malt, caramel sweetness. Taste: Medium malt, lots of sweetness. Caramel, candy. Bought: Beers of Europe, 330 ml, £2.09 Info: 22/6-2017, BB: 3/3-2018
3.5 Brown color. Medium carbonation. Bready roasted aroma, some roasted tones. Tastes sweet, bready, a bit of roast, sourness. The sweet and sour gives this an orange juice quality. A bit too sweet for my taste, glad it has some acidity to balance that. Not too bad.
3.5 More of a brune-style than your typical saison. Malty and bread-y taste, roasted aromas. Tasty yet easily drinkable
3.3 Semi hazy, light brown liquid. Small head. Aroma of malt and iron. Light body, little bit carbonation. Taste is a bit sour and sweet.
2.7 Definitely doesn’t look or taste like a saison . It’s a Belgian brown, with too much caramel sweetness for my taste.
2.6 Bottle. Deep amber color with tiny tan head. Aroma - Sweet, caramel, citrus, spice. Taste - Bittersweet, banana, sugar, bread.
3.1 Arôme caramel. Belle couleur rouge avec une faible mousse. Gout de caramel. biere sucrée. Pas mauvais comme bière.
3.3 This must be a caramel turned into beer. Aroma was weak but tested a bit late after opening the bottle. Taste is strong and not to sugary.
2.9 Low carbonation. Sweet and caramelized. To sweet for me. Not great but still drinkable.
2.1 Bottle at home. Amber - brown pour. The aroma is sweet grains, raisins, sugary breakfast cereal. The flavor is of a poorly made brown ale. Lightly toasted malts, sugar, caramel, grassy hops. Not a saison at all. Barely any yeast character.
3.0 330ml bottle at the Sandford Park Alehouse. Pours a dark copper with a medium white head. Toffee and summer fruit aroma, and similar taste, sweet with some unusual bitterness, a little sour. Not much like any Saison I’ve had before.
1.6 Hazy brown, no head. Sweet syruppy malt aroma. Bad start. Nearly zero taste, just faint corn flakes. Watery. Horrible, don?t buy it ever. Bad syruppy garbage, not a saison, but a bad amateur garage beer.
3.2 Bottle at home, 09/09/16. Bought from Savieur Biere (spelling??). Slight yeasty\boozy aroma. Treacle toffee brown. Some whisps of head. Sweet. Yeasty. Sugary. Raisens. Medium bodied. Slightly carbonated. Sour finish - pleasant mouthfeel, tingles on the tongue. I like it but slightly torn - is it a tad too sweet/sickly. Reminds me of Finnish kotikalja, a homemade non alcoholic malt drink.
3.5 Pours with no head. Sour aromas of red fruits. Ruby to amber colored body. Refreshing in mouth with both flower and fruity sour hoppy flavors and balanced with nice light malts.
2.9 Expiration 11/2013. Amber pour. A: dark malts, light molasses, little funk. T: follows aroma, faint licorice note, very sweet malt character. Sweet bitter development, brown sugar note. Dry, sticky finish. Still drinkable, carbo has left though.
