3.3 Schwarz. Kaffee, fruchtig. Am Gaumen Malz, Kaffee, hohe Bitterkeit. Nicht mein Lieblingsstil, okay.
3.5 Bottle at Leuven Innovation Beerfestival, thanks for sharing! Besides the Whiskey Sour garbage probably the beer I liked the least of Siren. Roast, coffee, expected much more bitter hops.
3.3 sampled from bottle at LIBF, poured a murky dark brown colour with a tanned head, nose of sweet bakers chocolate, cacao, dark espresso bean, floral hops, grapefruit, caramel malts, roast, earth, resin, sweet milk chocolate, herbal cooked hops, pine bitterness, had the feeling that i was drinking 2 different beers. not balanced at all IMO
3.7 Bottle sample @ Leuven Beer Innovation 2015, shared with the RB Belgian crew.
3.6 quite dense light beige head leaves structured lacing. coffee coloured. massive aroma of passionfruit, mango, skuny hopiness. taste like aroma, roasted malts, ash, coffee with a long bitter finish. medium body and carbonation. bottle @ LIBF ’15
3.9 English BIPA with stable, off-white, light beige head and very dark bronze colour, approaching black but still transparent. Lovely ’dank’ aroma of pine resin and pine needles, grapefruit, orange peel, thyme, wormwood, coffee, bitter chocolate and caramel; fruity onset but ’clean’, dried plums and candied figs, nice spicy hints over a smooth, caramelly and eventually restrainedly roasted bitter malt basis, paving the way for a wonderfully aromatic, ethereal, citrussy and piny hop bitter finish, long and satisfying. Very good black IPA.
3.4 Due to artificial coloured illumination, appearance not estimable, arbitrary 4/5 ’Dark’ C-hops, but also grapey , like Nelson Sauvin. Bit of caramel or toffee to sniff. Dry,a shes, dried hops, dried dark bread. Light body, but quite some slickness. Not so special, but bring it on anyway!
3.4 Thanks for sharing! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Leuven Innovation Beer Festival. Dark brown, little mocha head. Nose is herbal, sweet, milk chocolate, chunky cacao, tad watery, not much hops,… Taste is dull plaster yeast, herbal, cacao sweet, basic chocolate milk, dull, yeasty, herbal & fizzy. Okay but boring.
