2.9shared@pre-BKL-tasting; overall still a well-done low-alc beer, and a study in how low-alcohol beers with almost no malt base either change, weaken or intensify late hop additions/dryhopping and extra ingredients: nose: lots of dank, vegetal hopflavour with that certain lightly dusty puffed amaranth edge to it (stressed yeast?) and an apricot-peel-astringency (could well be the tea). More black tea astringency in taste, more hop dankness as well, whereas the bergamotte can’t be tasted at all.
2.49th Feb 2016: cask pint in The Euston Tap. Light golden pour with a white lasting head. Mild citrus feel to the whole beer, could not detect any tea like esters or flavours. Not a good choice for my first beer of the session in this excellent bar. Maybe the flavours were too subtle for my palate but I found this fairly tasteless.
3.433cl bb08/2016 Shared at bastarda’s pre-BKL tasting. Aroma is a dilution of green grape and sweet green kiwi, maybe lifted by that touch of bergamot. Tastes more herbal and grassy more than lealeaf bitter, citrus pith with a quinine dryness. Pleasant enough sessioner that would make sense in larger draught rations.
3.1Bottle 33cl, shared by Bastarda. A clear yellow beer, nose is on green vegetable, aroma is peppery, medium malty to low, peach, cold tea, quite bitter, finish is very bitter also, low body.
3.533 cl bottle. BBE 27.08.2016.
Pours clear golden color with a large white head. Nice floral hoppy aroma, lemon and some grapefruits, subtle yeast notes and herbs. Very mouthwatering lemony palate, mild tea, subtle grassy notes, grapefruits and some gooseberries. Very light but still very tasty and refreshing. Nice.

3.4Tap at the Draft House Hammersmith, hazy yellow with a lacing head and a crisp hoppy and faintly citrus nose. Basically a tasty crisp pale ale, with decent bitterness and a hint of Bergamot.
3.4Cask at Drapers, Coventry. Nice bergamot, citrus, orange aroma. Taste is bright and fresh with decent notes of orange, lemon, lime, clean finish. Solid
3.7330ml bottle from Hoptimism.
Small white head disappears quickly, good lacing. Hazy golden body. Not much on the nose, straw and light citrus. Flavour is lemon, tea is very apparent, straw, light bitter aftertaste. Medium carbonation, fizzes nicely on the tongue, quite sharp. For a golden ale this is really tasty.
3.6Bottle of 33cl, in a Wit-beer glass; from the fridge.
Woaw : tea and beer make good mix. We’re in front of a nice light-beer, with a taste that’s between hop and tea. Nice aroma, but maybe to subtle...
Try it. It worth a shot.

Nice slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry fruity, leafs, hay, hops, citrus peel, dried fruits, weeds, flowers, minerals, grass. Taste is dry mineraly, weeds, hay, minerals, paper, grass, flowers, bark, leafs, hops, citrus peel, maybe some hints of tea. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and harsh mouthfeel. Fair enough.
4.0Cask. The Hop Beer Shop, Chelmsford, 28/1/2016. Appropriate that I was wearing my Hill Farsmtead t-shirt today!
White lacing. Golden appearance. Great condition. Aroma is mangoes, papaya, tea, herbs. Taste is mangoes, herbs, tea. Orange tango. Nice bitterness. Clean. Easy-drinking. Really well-made. Just a tad too herbal for me.
3.6Bottle thanks to Leighton. Pours a clear orange, thin white head. Aroma is citrus, black tea, herbs, minerals, lemon. Flavor is guava, dandelion, tea, floral notes, dry citrusy hops. Light body, big flavor for the ABV. Enjoyable
3.5Wow, this has the strongest earl grey influence of any beer I’ve tried, it’s almost as though the tea has stewed in the beer. Bags of flavour for its low abv
3.9June 8, 2015. Bottle, best before march 11, 2016.
Cloudy orange with a medium sized frothy white head. Aroma is slight floral honey notes, herbal and citrusy with bergamot, hints of orange, touch of hoppy diesel and light grassy. Taste is light sweet, dry floral with a slight astringent herbal and grassy finish with some grain and citrus.Light bodied, average carbonation.
Solid, refreshing!
4.2Tasty and sessionable golden ale. Never thought golden ale would taste this good! Very hoppy and malty sweetness are well balanced too.
3.9Clear, amber colour with quite nice, beige head. Hoppy aroma with some spices, citrus fruits and earl grey. Gentle, malty backbone with some bitterness and tart notes from tea.

Unclear matt medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate to heavy hoppy, flowers, citrus, fruity, peach. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity, peach, hop bitter, light citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150813]
3.6Bottled. Yellow coloured. Unclear. dense off white head. ARoma. Flowery, herbal, teabag, spice. Flavour. Grass, flowers, tea, herbs, grass. medium bodied. Ends grassy and floral bitter with a light bready and teaish touch.

2.9Hop malt herbal aroma. Murky Amber colour great head and lacing. Bubblegum candy fruit malt flavour. Smooth palate.
4.0Bottle. Pours in clean golden body with high frothy head. Aroma has pretty complex citrus profile, gentle belgian yeast character. Spicy in the background of aroma. Taste has high earthy bitterness, very gentle tea character, but not astringent at all. Pretty gentle and well balanced. Little bit acidic in the after taste. Body is medium with very high carbonation.
2.7Golden with a decent white head. A fantastically floral aroma with hints of sweet orange. A little over carbonated, the aroma is let down by the taste. Like an over stewed, cold tea taste with just a hint of orange.
3.4Bottle. Brewdog Leicester. Hazy golden orange with an off white head. Thin white grape with pithy low grapefruit. Floral lightly nutty tea with bready yeast. Some mushroom funk with spiced oranges. Grassy and herbal with hints of pine. Good session brew.
3.0Bottle. Pours cloudy amber. Aromas of tea, bergamot, pine. You certainly get the flavour of tea with a mix of sweet, sour and bitterness. It didn’t quite work for me but still drank it easy enough.
3.6Bottle. Citrus, tropical fruits, straw, tea (bergamot) and spices. Mild to moderate sweetness and bitterness. Quite dry and bitter finish.
3.7330ml bottle from the Cheese & Wine Shop, Darlington. Hazy golden colour, white foam head and aroma of tropical fruits & citrusy hop resins. Taste is malt caramel, grain, hints of tea with zingy orange citrus, tropical fruit and hoppy bitterness. Crisp mouthfeel, light bodied, soft carbonation, fruity dry finish. Very drinkable.
3.5Cask @The Hanging Bat, Edinburgh. Pours golden, nose is orange and citrus fruits, you also get a perfume coming through which is i’m guessing the earl grey tea. General citrus on the taste less tea than i was expecting from the nose. Very dry finish almost astringent.
3.1Flaske 500ml fra Systembolaget Luleå - Storheden. Drukket i Skibotn 9 Aug 15. Gyldengulbrun. Lavt skum. Litt uklar. Bra sitrusaroma. Smaken er grapefrukt & epler. Variert. Et utmerket “svak”øl.
3.3330ml bottle from Kris Wines. Clear gold pou with large pillowy white head. Aroma is grass, plenty of hops and slightly earthy. Taste - quite a watery texture but still very flavoursome. Plenty of hops but lacking on the tea. Delicately earthy but not specifically earl grey like. Emelisse’s earl grey IPA did this a little better.
