3.5 Pint from cask at The Clachan, 2018-11-03. Appearance is a dark ruby brown, with a medium thickness pale-coffee coloured head, which doesn't dissipate quickly. Aroma is lots of good citrus (lemon and grapefruit I think?) but not much else. Taste is malty bitterness, followed by a fruity sweetness. Less hoppy than expected - no bad thing for this style. Palate is a little thin-bodied but very smooth. Finish is long and malty. Overall, quite a nice brew. Suitably bold with a good aroma - more malt than expected from the "Red IPA" label, which is a good thing. Only real issue is lack of body in the mouth.
3.9 Amber pine and chewy nut aroma chewy caramel taste long finish medium bodied moreish.
3.7 Cask at the Market Porter. Pours dark ruddy amber with a tan head. Aroma of dark malt and raisins. Medium body. Flavor is “amberish” with mildly spicy raisins. Not very dry. A little citrus for bitter. Heading for Xmas ale. Nice on a a cold London day.
4.9 A Red Citrus Ale. Really nice drink that is smooth and gives a full range across the entire palate. One of Siren’s core range Liquid Mistress makes a nice alternative to there other great core beers, Soundwave or Yu Lu
3.7 Rzadko chlany styl przeze mnie i chyba go nie pokocham. Ciemne, bordowo-prawie czarne, słodowo-żywiczno-karmelowe, ale zbalansowane, ładna trwała piana. Ciekawostka.
4.1 Pours dark red. Dark fruits aroma with some citrus and hops. Taste is citrus and hops but with a bitter tobacco and chocolate finish. Long finish. Like everything I have tried so far from Siren, this is good stuff, well made.
4.0 Dark, burnt red, with an off white cream head. Aroma of fruit, malt heavy. Taste rich with plums and raisins. Exceptional.
3.5 Piwo o barwie rubinowej. Ladna piana utrzymujaca sie. Aromat intensywny chmielowo slodowy. Bardzo przyjemny. W smaku swietnie ulozone.
3.6 Cask at the Antelope in Surbiton. A fairly dark pour with a good head. Sweet malt, some dry hops, a little pepper and forest fruits. Nice.
3.0 Pint at The Old Red Lion. Decent soft foam and dark brown body. Soft hoppiness on the nose with some caramel. Flavour is mellow grains and soft bread hints. Medium on the mouth, creamy. All right, an English ale through and through.
3.4 Half at the Old Red Cow. A deep reddy brown in the glass and some head. As ever with this pub it was served way too cold and as a result there was no aroma to the beer. The taste was rich and unctuous malts with some balancing bitter hops. They really went for the malt with this one and during my contemplation of the taste I came to conclusion that it tasted "half baked." There was more than a hint of those malt samples you get on a brewery tour and it tasted like it hadn't been completely brewed. I'm not sure if this was a good or a bad thing, but that was how it tasted to me. The mouthfeel was rich and lingering as you would expect from all the malt.
4.0 Bottle from Bitter Virtue. Excellent hoppy very red red ale with fruity overtones
3.9 33 cl. bottle bb 06-15-2017. Light fog on the dark amber body. Big spongy foam topping settles to a lasting sticky cobweb. Smell is orange toffee, toasted cereal, raisin, earthy leaf and a hint of chocolate. Tastes of orange rolled in earthy cocoa powder, toasted cereal, raisin and tea leaf. A little bit of black pepper as well. Medium body gets a little sticky even with a medium-high carbonation that's almost too explosive. Still a very tasty and interesting brew.
3.8 330 ml bottle. Pours a hazy red brown with moderate head. Aromas of pine and caramel malts. Stronger flavors follow same with additional pink grapefruit, bready malts and resin. Clean and somewhat spicy. Solid.
3.5 Bottled 0,33L. Dark amber color, fraught and hazy aspect, discreet head of long duration. Tofee, yeasty and roast caramel aroma, intence alcoholic and resin smell. Moderate prickly mouth, sweet and roast cortex palate, intence alcoholic and tofee caramel.
3.0 On tap at BrewDog, Brighton. Very dark with a red tint. Smells like Ribena and grapefruit. Tastes sour and watery with a slightly unpleasant tang.
3.5 Klar rødbrun farge med beige skum. lukter av tørkede stenfrukter og malt. Medium med kullsyre. Mild bitter og litt syrlig avslutning.
4.1 Pleasant surprise, subtle fruity , smooth and great aftertaste. Would drink again.
3.7 Pours dark ruby with a white reddish thick head, lots of tiny particles in suspension. Nice looking beer. Aroma is gently hopped but the sweet malts are dominant: the west coast inspiration is evident. A bit nutty too. Taste is bittersweet, very well balanced. Some roasted notes in the finish. Tasty and with a rather thick mouthfeel for it's ABV. Impressive.
3.9 330ml bottle. Pours deep red brown. Caramel, strawberry, orange peel, pepper, biscuit, little earthiness. Medium body. Good.
3.5 Tap at Kompaan. Dark amber near dark brown with tan head. Sweet roadted malts, chocolate, citrus fruity and weedy hops, moccha, funky mushroom mold, cola. Pretty weird, kind of like a very poor blend of different styles. Hoppy and tasty as hell though. Big sweet and bitter. Medium body, sticky, soft carbonation.
3.8 330 ml bottle. Pours with a dark amber color and a nice off-white head. The nose is resinous and only slightly fruity. Taste is caramel and toffe with a pine and spicy finish.
3.1 Bottle. Pours clear mahogany with a ridiculously gigantic beige head that will not go away. Aroma is dusty, caramel, raisins. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter. Medium body, huge carbonation level. Guessing there is something, ummm, going on in this bottle, but there is no tartness.
3.4 Bottle from JK Fine Foods. Pours dark chestnut brown with a ruby tinge and a fluffy light tan head. The nose has a big element of red and black berries. A warm light spice, little sherbet dustiness, grain and a little aniseed. The taste has a fresh bitter leaf followed by light caramel. Although it starts green and bitter the overall experience is light and refreshing. It has a smooth medium feel with a lightening finish. A gentle to moderate sparkle. A fresh, leafy and clean IPA.
4.0 Rich, crisp, lively, malty, sharp, refreshing. Taste also reminds of a stout. Bitter and malty aftertaste. Quite nice overall.
3.4 Bottle 330 ml from HonestBrew. Aromas of roasted malts, red berries, earth and subtle caramel. Large beige head and a dark maroon/amber body. Taste is roasted malts and autumn berries, with subtle caramel notes. Decent autumn ale.
