Siren Pompelmocello

Siren Pompelmocello

Pompelmocello IPA (Sour Grapefruit IPA, 6% abv)

Pompelmocello is a tart, sour and puckering grapefruit IPA we’re brewing with Grapefruit Juice, Grapefruit Zest, the most grapefruity hop profile we can muster and lactose for a slightly creamy mouthfeel and sweet edge. The first batch of this beer will be going out on keg in the next week, the second batch will be bottled later this month. Fans of Limoncello IPA (or those partial to grapefruit) – take note!

2.2 So so, Sharp and tart
3.9 Flavour is juicy grapefruit, very tart, slightly sweet, with the usual IPA flavours coming through - pine, grassy hops, citrus, light malts. Finish is bitter, grassy and pithy hops. Perfect balance of beer/IPA flavours and sour fruit juice. Light mouthfeel and fine carbonation.
3.6 On tap at Beer Shop tel aviv. Hazy light gold. Grapefruit aroma and flavor, sour and lactic. Full body, long sour-tarty grapefruit finish. Lovely!
3.0 Pours murky yellow with thick creamy off white head, strong aroma of grapefruit, spices and tart element. Strong tarty grapefruit.
3.0 Somewhat unfairly, I mark this down as it was too grapefruity
3.7 440ml can from the brewery. Clear golden with a small foamy white head. Tart sherbet aroma, flavour is sherbet, grapefruit juice, maybe a little pineapple, but with none of those flavours overdone
3.4 Thin beige head on a hazy pale golden coloured body. Zesty citrus aroma. Medium bodied, sharp & clean. Bitter citrus, sour, grapefruit & pine tastes. Palate cleanser.
3.7 2017-01-26 BBB Siren Pompelmello AR: grapefruit, sharp citrus AP: hazy yellow, wee notes F: salty biscuits, pine, lemon zest 3,5
3.7 Can, small bubbly head, light hazy golden orange colour, lots of grapefruit and tropical fruits, mellow medium grapefruit peel bitterness and citrus sourness. Very nicely balanced and highly enjoyable.
3.4 Tap at BGB. Pale golden body, white head. Grapefruit up front in the aroma, of course, malty touches, other fruity notes vome up, hmm. Tart, juicy taste, light grapefruit, basically a sour lean grapefruit beer, quite simple. Okay.
3.7 Appearance is golden, with a half-finger fizzy white head. Aroma is citrus fruit, lemon, hop resin, grapefruit and pineapple hints. Taste is sour sweets, tart fruit, baked apple, citrus tang, lemon meringue pie, pineapple, crisp hops, juicy mouthfeel. Good stuff.
3.5 Can 440ml at home. From Alko web shop Pours clear yellow with white head. Flavor has sour lemon, grapefruit, sugar, fruity hops. Medium body, average carbonation, fresh fruity finish.
3.7 Siren Pompelmocello 6.0%. Golden, sour grapefruit aroma, medium bodied, pale malt, citrus, grapefruit, zesty, sour, wild yeast. Pleasant Sour / IPA hybrid from Finchampstead, Berkshire 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
3.9 A slightly sour and very drinkable IPA, very juicy and extremely grapefruity. A nice light and fruity hoppy touch, but mostly intense grapefruit juice. Lovely. Extremely drinkable.
3.3 44cl can from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours fairly hazy, dark gold, with fine white foam. Aroma is weak of white pulp fruits, mandarin, grapes. Body is average, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium sour. Final is slightly short.
3.4 44cl can from Morrisons. Thin white head. Very hazy golden pour. A little sour which overpowers the hops.
3.7 You’re expecting a sour, citrus bomb and it doesn’t disappoint! Has a lemon juice aroma, pouring a very slightly hazy straw colour, with a very short-lasting bubbly white head. The flavour is tart citrus with a hint of sweet lemon/lime and a very faint breadiness in the background
3.6 Clear golden beer, thick white head. Tart fruity aroma, some zesty hop. Flavour is very tart up front. Tangy and sour with lemon and grapefruit, a little breadiness, lime comes through in the finish and there's something a little spiced or herbal in there too. There's a little of the lactose mentioned in the description too but it doesn't make a huge impression with all the tart fruit. Crisp, refreshing and really sharp.
3.7 My first IPA-Sour style. BBE 06-21, canned 3.5 months ago. Pours hazy gold, small white head, quite fizzy, some retention. Aroma is sour citrus confectionary and grapefruit. Taste is sweet and sour lemon notes, a softer grapefruit. Finish is zesty citrus and moderately bitter. There is a hint of something vaguely chewy in the body but its a bit light for an IPA. This could easily just be a sour. Carbonation is average and works fine. I enjoyed this, its juicy and sour but not over the top. Quite refreshing, good stuff.
3.7 3/10/2020. Can at the Torun GP bottle-share, from Morrison's, Ipswich. Pours clear very pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus, with light grassy, herby, peppery notes. Light sweetness, moderate bitterness, medium sour. Medium body, slight watery texture, average carbonation. Nice lasting sour finish. Good.
3.9 Siren Advent Calender 2022 (Day 13); Can 440ml (BB: 13/10/2023); Look: hazy amber with a bubbly white foam. Nice lacing. Low carbonation. Aroma: tart grapefruit, sweetness Body: medium end of thin Taste: tart grapefruit, lemon, nice malt base Overall: a good tart beer. Refreshing
3.6 440ml can from Morrison’s. Golden with a slight haze. Funky aroma with tartness and a bit of grapefruit. Mouth skewingly sour! Perhaps, misses the IPA part. Really flavour full. Good.
3.5 Gold colour. Slight citrus smell. Tastes of (watered down) grapefruit, like they wanted. Tart, though not overly so. Good, but not one to seek out again.
3.7 Gold colour, with a white head,a citrus, grapefruit, hint of lemon aroma, medium body, grapefruit hints of lemon, decent sourness, dry finish, decent
3.8 44cl can (Morrisons) on 07-Jun-2020, enjoyed in a shaker. Hazy orangish pale colour with a large white head which dissipates rather quickly. Aroma of citrus and sour fruit. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of grapefruit, sherbet, malt and lactose. Sour and fruity. A decent tipple.
3.5 440ml can - Pours an almost clear light gold colour with a small white head that settled. Aroma is citrusy, loads of grapefruit and a little lime. Moderate sweetness and a tart fruitiness, grapefruit flavours with a pithy sour finish.
3.4 Draught at The White Rabbit, Oxford. Clouded gold with white head. Sweet and sour grapefruit flavours mixed together, sharp and fruity. Quite heavy on the palate, sweaty citrus notes. Lightens towards the end. It's fine.
3.2 440ml Can from Morrisons (£2.45): Light & clear golden with a thin white lacing on top. It's sour/sweet on the nose with grapefruit mainly but it's a little weird; background hops & fruit feature with a sour taste coming through. There's not sweetness here but the grapefruit still dominates. The body was light & strongly carbonated but it was a little one-dimensional & strange at times.
3.4 Can at london stone. Hazy yellow colour, stiff white head. Nose is fruity sour. Taste is low sourness, low bitterness. Fruity tastey with a long lingering bready aftertaste. A bit weird.
3.3 Very nice grapefruit sour
