Siren Soundwave IPA

Siren Soundwave IPA

Cask: Unfiltered; Keg and can: Unpasteurised
India Pale Ale
A 5.6% west coast IPA: golden, immensely hoppy and alive with grapefruit, peach and mango flavours.
Soundwave carries her drinker to the west coast, to the golden shores of California where craft ale is nectar. She is the driest of Siren’s ales – full with flavour but subtle with bitterness.

Her resinous finish will pull you off balance.

4.1 From keg at Job Centre, Deptford, London, with my parents 24.06.22. Milky pale straw colour. White head and lacing. Aroma and taste of lychee, grapefruit, sorrel and pale malt. Good!
3.7 Can from Familia in San Pietro in Cariano. Amber-yellow hazy with a nice head. Big nose: grains, overripe fruit, tasty dank weedy business going on too. Flavor is super dank, pineapple and crunchy goodness with big grain notes. Bitterness is not too high but that balances with the moderate body of this thin (less than six percent) IPA that I'd rather call a Session if the flavor weren't so massive.
3.3 Draft 0.25l at Uiltje Bar, Haarlem, The Netherlands. 3.3.2022. Pour it hazy yellow color with small white head. Aroma grassy, light orange. Taste orange peel, light grassy, long after taste, spices
2.8 Fairly refreshing. Slightly bitter

Very drinkable Second rating; Can 330ml (BB: 05/10/23); Day 4 of Siren Advent Calendar 2022 Look: As before. Nice lacing. Aroma: As before. Juicy. Body: As before. Taste: As before. Some floral/herbal notes on back end. Dryness in finish. Overall: yep, very consistent. Quality beer.
3.3 Aroma : Strong malty caramel, highly hoppy mixed tropical & soft fruits, notably pineapple, peach, guava & nectarine with a light piney resinous note. Smells great. Taste : Body on thin side of medium but light oily texture makes it feel more medium bodied. Moderate to high bitter hoppy bite upfront. Overriding flavour is a solid caramel maltiness with a bitter mixed soft fruit hoppiness. Decent UK version of the West Coast USA IPA style
3.5 330ml can from Asda. Hazy gold with a good white head. Aroma is apricot, flavour is soft stone fruit with some pine and a little toffee. Decent
3.5 Draught, 5.6% at Monterey. Good fruity aroma. Cloudy orange yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is fruity and nicely bready. Clean medium bitterness.
3.5 Burk. Disig gulfärgad med ett medelstort vitt skum. Dofter av grapefrukt, mango, tall. Smakinslag av grapefrukt, apelsinskal, malt och tall. Medelbeska.
2.9 Siren flagship ipa much fragrance (just lovely) but you get confused tasting it. Overall a good ipa but…
3.9 Draught @ Monterey Bar, Berlin. Pours slightly hazy pale straw with airy white head. Clear aroma of fruit and citrus, with hoppy and estery touches. Bitter, hoppy and grassy flavour with notes of citrus and touches of yeast and malt. Bitter and citric aftertaste. A very nice and well-balanced IPA.
3.6 Iz MAS Plenuma Rijeka. Oranž-Tropic aroma .
4.0 Strong Grapefruit aroma, easy drinking. Slight bitterness
3.8 Can, 0.33l. Hazy orange pour, one finger frothy white head, medium lasting, good retention. Broken lacing on the glass as it goes down. Fruity nose, citruses and tropical fruits, hints of pine, some herbal notes in the background. Medium body, lively carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel and texture, soft and chewy, nicely creamy. Easily drinkable. Balanced bittersweet taste with hints of tart. Juicy and fruity aroma, tropical fruits, citruses, pineapple. Peach, pine, caramel malt in the background. Mild herbal notes, subtle spiciness. Medium lasting finish, dry. Tasty.

3.7 0.33 l can at Goblet Beer Store, Zagreb. Hazy orange, small to medium white head. Moderately hoppy, fruity, citrusy, juicy, fresh orange juice, some spice, some malts. 3.4 Clear golden pour. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, pine and slight nutty hints. Very bitter, citrus and hop flavour. Hoppiness lingers on the back end.
3.8 Buon profumo, bitter non intenso, piacevole, beverina. SN
3.7 Can at Porter and Sons. Clear gold with a white head. Citrus bomb in the nose, a bit of pine and scallion as well. Bitter, citrus hoppiness, mildly tarty. Full body, long hoppy, bitter finish.
3.3 Can from local Asda. Aroma is of tropical fruits, mainly pineapple. Pours a golden yellow with a small transient white head. In the mouth it’s a toss up as to what comes first. Sometimes it’s tropical fruits (mango and pineapple), other times it is traditional hoppy bitterness. The old style bitterness wins out at the finish. Rather nice – provided you ignore the “alcoholic lilt” sensation !
3.6 Smells like lime with a hint of coriander. Slightly hazy gold colour. Heavy alpha acids, grapefruit, mandarin pith. Surprisingly, short lived finished. Crisp mouthfeel. Refreshing.
3.5 Pours murky gold with thin soapy white head, strong aroma of mango and citrus, sweet front with a bit of herbal finish
3.6 Can. Slightly hazy yellow-golden with white head. The aroma has notes of tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, citrus, grapefruit, wet hops. The flavor is mild sweet and bitter with notes of tropical fruits, mango, citrus, grapefruit, "green", wet hops, earthy. Slightly dry, medium to full-bodied.
3.8 Looks: pale, hazy, sediments, very low white head. Aroma: hops, oranges, green grapes, malt, bisquits. Taste: bitter and light sweet. Pearly.
