Siren Undercurrent

Siren Undercurrent

Cask & Bottle: Unfiltered; Keg: Unpasteurised
A 4.5% pale ale with spicy, grassy aromas and a taste of grapefruit and apricot.
Undercurrent is part pale, part oats and part caramel barley. Her swirls of bold, bready and nutty malt whirl into a concoction of spicy, citrus, floral hops. Mystery lurks in those cascade and palisade hops.

Her silky, creamy body will pull you under.

Mousse faible. En bouche, arômes houblonnés, pamplemousse et clémentine. Amertume dominante. Arômes fruités bien présents.
4.0 Bottle from the Siren Taproom. Cloudy pale amber with a white head. Oaty, tropical fruit aroma. Oaty nice thick mouthfeel, fruity.
3.6 Bottle from Willems in Grobbendonk. Poors dark, clear, slightly oily ocre with decent frothy head. Aroma and taste lots of fruity, slightly resinous hops, caramel malts clearly noticable, nice. The oats are really noticable, tasty and add some body. Nice bitterness, dry, somewhat thin aftertaste. Very enjoyable.
3.6 On tap. Dark yellow to orange, slightly hazy with not big but solid white head and some lacing. Quite strong citrus and peach aromas with some grassy and herbal tones. Smooth mouthfeel, light to medium body, some herbal and black tea flavors in taste. Nice bitterness. Decent.
3.6 Colour somewhere between amber and orange with a swirling haze going on. Modest white head. Aroma is peach, orange jelly and sponge cake. Medium body with a fresh mouthfeel. Taste is citrus, herbal, some fresh mint, orange, grapefruit and peach. Unusual, easy to like.
3.5 Slechts 4,5% alcohol maar toch een aardige volle oatmeal Pale Ale met een zurig hoppige afdronk die blijft hangen. Komt uit Engeland van de Siren Craft Brewery. Die met die zeemeerminnen.
4.1 330ml bottle. Pours hazy orange/amber with an off white head. Aroma is grassy, caramel sweetness, apricot, pine, spice and orange peel. Very smooth and juicy, benefits from the oats preventing it from being thin at 4.5%. Taste is grassy, piny, tropical and citrus. Fantastic session APA.
3.0 Had on tap at the Star Inn in Newbury by someone who can't pour a pint. Pours hazy has a nice bitterness to it.
3.5 Butelka 330ml. Metnawe o złotym kolorze. Piana biała,średnia opada szybko. Dominują owoce tropikalne, brzoskwinie i morele, czerwone cytrusy w podbudowie, dodatkowo karmel, biszkopty. Zapach praktycznie taki sam lecz mniej intensywny. Ogólnie dość słodkawe ,o słodowym zacięciu, wysycenie małe.
3.4 Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Slightly hazy golden with beige head. The aroma has notes of citrus (grapefruit, orange), ripe fruits, malt, peach and onion. The flavor is bitter with notes of citrus (grapefruit, orange), malt, grassy, pine, peach, pear and onion. Medium-bodied.
3.0 At a tasting, small bubbly head, hazy darkish orange aroma of fruit jam, herbs, light bready malty flavor with some fruitiness and a herbal bitterness. Nice
3.1 Bottle at a tasting. Hazy yellow golden. Aroma is floral and grainy. Sweetish, grainy, grassy, green, strong herbal bitterness, a bit unbalanced. Medium-bodied, smooth.
4.2 4.5%ABV. APA. Poured out slightly cloudy light amber. 10ºSRM. Nose has aromas of pine sap and fresh spruce. On distant sniff you get sweet ripe citrus referencing ripe Valencia oranges and late summer orange blossoms. There is a layer of spicy funk that suggests shallots and spring onions. On closer and more intense nosing, I get a noseful of malt sweetness over which a thick layer of malt funk is slathered. Mouthfeel is light liked watered tea. Palate has biscuits, pie crusts, light wheat toast. Hop flavors are wood, mint, hint of cilantro, grass, earth. Finish is medium with a thin plant sap bitter all the way to the end. The enduring flavor is earth and sap and maybe pine bark. Overall, this one drank like a clean herbal tea with the mouthfeel, the dry finish and an alkaloid bitter. Goes on Favorites List!
3.3 Bottle. Pours hazy orange with initial white head. Faint aroma, mainly sweet orange. Taste is quite subtle, citrus fruit, not particularly bitter, no trace of oatmeal, very fizzy, fairly fine carbonation. Refreshing but perhaps a bit forgettable.
3.2 Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Bottle, 33cL. 4.5%. Purchase ("La Cervoiserie", @Poitiers (86), FR). Home. A clear orange beer with a medium off-white head ; average retention. Herb, citrus (grapefruit), water. Light to medium dry bitter refreshing, sweet acid notes. Light body, thin silky texture, soft gaseous, fruity bitter dry refreshing finish. Overall, enjoyable ! A bit watery.
1.6 What is it meant to taste like? Started like perfume and chemicals with an artificial citrus finish.

4.0 Aroma: Medium bready, melon. Appearance: Hazy, orange body. Small, off-white head. Fine bubbles. Fair retention. Flavour: Medium-high bitterness. Medium resin, pine, melon. Dry bitter finish with resin. Mouthfeel: Overall: Good hoppy punch! On tap 18B. American Pale Ale

3.1 Bottle, 33 cl, Allez Hops, Nice (06). Truly *American* pale ale; citrus, bitter, fruity finish.
3.3 Gentle jasmine and orange blossem flavours. American hops ahoy. The oatmeal isnt particularly noticable as its very light in malt character. Decent gentle APA
3.4 330 ml bottle. Pours a dark amber with huge head. Aromas of sweetened orange peel, dried stoned fruit and sweet malts. Flavors follow same though flatter, with a bit of spicy resin to start and bitter fruit to finish.
3.1 Growler fill from the Grunting Growler in Glasgow Pours a dark amber, semi transparent Aroma is quite sweet, toffee and malty Flavour is malty, pale ale, biscuity, quite traditional in flavour.
3.9 Citrusy hops mainly orange, hints of pineapple. Good malt hop balance. Bready with a bitter finish.
3.7 Bottled 0,33L. Medium amber/reddish color, intence bubbly aspect, lighly hazy one with creamy and long foamy head resistance. Intence malty and hop nose with soft caramel aroma, wood, cortex and yeasty final. Medium prickly taste, equilibrate sweetish start, alcohol content and bitterish final is very pleasant.
3.9 Weak aroma of pale malts with hints of lemon and tangerine. Pleasantly crisp and slightly metalic. Very sessionable and refreshing.
