Sixpoint Resin

Sixpoint Resin

It’s been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and we’re ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isn’t a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going ’round this winter. It isn’t our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. It’s a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin.

We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA — but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

4.0 Can at spoons. Medium tan Belgian ale appearance with a big head. Scent is IPA. Taste is semisweet slightly sour/bitter DIPA. A bit basic but well done! Great
2.5 had can glasgow airport sandpiper strong ipa taste had with breakfast maybe not best mix decent enough beer as im not an ipa fan this was ok but would not get another as a preter other beers
4.0 Haven't had this in ages! On tap at the beertemple. Pours quite a clear amber, some head. Aroma is pine, intense hops, resin. Very hop-forward, some sweet malt notes. Medium body. Flavour is malty and sweet, with a clean malt profile, some caramel malt. Very bitter, but balanced by the sweetness from the malt. A lot of pine and west coast hops. Herbal and resiny. True to its name. Excellent Imperial IPA, a classic west coast imperial interpretation.
4.0 Does what is days on the can. Quite bitter hops, more-ish. Sweet as the ABV indicates, but heaps of bitterness and tart fruit too. More than others at this high alcohol content. Big beer with lots of fruity flavour.
4.1 Pours medium amber. big off white head. Bright pine grapefruit aroma. Malt and citrus taste then strong hop bitterness, surprisingly balanced and smooth. alcohol well hidden. Nice beer.
4.1 Hazy gold texture, with significant lacing. West coast style aroma and taste: Citrus, mango, pineapple, grass and big hop presence. Not boozy at all for a 9.1%. Damn good.
3.6 Can. Cloudy Orange, golden cream. Cheesecake and resiny orange peel. Medium full body, ok balance on the orange candy, broad hop profile, nice.
4.4 Had a pitcher in Key West - good stuff
4.1 Really complex, interesting beer. Minimal head and carbonation, pine and resin in the nose and a bimb of bitterness and piney hops, butbacked up with a generous maltiness. This is a beer I will seed out again.
3.5 Pours hazy copper orange with a thick and foamy yellow-white head. Aroma is sweet tropical fruit, pineapple and orange. Taste is piney hops and quite bitter. Very nice tropical fruit aftertaste. Quite dry and mildy carbonated. Well-balanced and well- crafted, but a bit too bitter for my taste.
3.7 this IPA is dominated by piney notes. sometimes it seems a bit too sweet but overall pretty good.
0.5 I have to say this is 1/10 stars. Taste like absolute wank but gets the job done.
Retrogosto persistente resinoso.
4.0 (Tap) clear, bright yellow orange colour with a small white head; aroma of citrus; balanced flavour with a long, medium bitter finish
1.9 Couldn't see appearance in can, no smell, way too bitter....that's all you taste...some minor notes of malt on finish but pretty much just bitterness...had at art bar Halloween 2018
3.5 Pours up a clear gold color, with a white head and lots of lace. Super dank hoppy resin aroma. Taste is hoppy for sure, but has a complex mix of flavors coming together. There is some pineapple in here. Even a mild malt presence. Very interesting beer, and not as hoppy as its 103 IBU would suggest. Definitely a heavy hitter though.
3.8 Dank is the word. Very resiny with strong pineapple and orange notes. Sticky hops. Nice strong pale malt base. Gorgeous hazy golden with a thick creamy white laced head. Quite bitter rindy fade.
4.1 Copper, orange brown color. Light white head that dissipates quickly. Thick, chewy, bready palate. Herbal and pony aroma, light citrus. Bready malt taste, slight caramel, orange, lime. Nice balance of malt, texture, hoppy aroma.
3.1 Pours cloudy golden, big foamy head, lazy carbonation. Aroma is sweet and fruity, a bit citrusy, malty. Full nice body. Flavor is sweet, pear and juicy like, herbal bitterness and very noticeable alcohol. Resin tastes a bit like an IPA mixed with a bit of vodka.
4.0 Very hoppy and dank. No surprise but the extreme bitterness is addictive like a mofo
3.9 Yum. Pours hazy with a 1.5 inch creamy head with laced nicely. Deeper golden color. Aroma and taste are piney hops, grapefruit and light sweetness in background. Drinks very smooth, finishes smooth with a pleasant, piney bite in the end. This was seriously good and I am looking forward to the next one.
3.6 Can at JDWs in Potters Bar. Strong piney hop character, some resin, strong carbonation but the ABV is fairly well hidden. Good beer.
3.2 Pours hazy dark amber. Aroma of citrus. Tastes is influenced by a soft mouthfeel that allows the hops to sit on the back of the tongue. Palate includes citrus, pine, hops and resin. Alcohol on the aftertaste, certainly a heavy beer.
4.8 Great beer. Hazy, well balanced. Although 9.1 and IBU's at 103, did not taste boozie or overly bitter. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
4.0 Resin follows a happy previous experience with Sixpoint. It comes in a six pack from the the best craft beer store in the Permian Basin, The Cellar. Cool skinny 12 oz can pours into my ABGB tulip glass, clear golden body with a diminishing off-white foam. Smells of citrus, cut pine. A drink, pretty fine, hops, grapefruit, honeydew melon, decently bitter. Mission accomplished.
4.0 Tap@ 24 uurs Maastricht. Troebel goudgeel. Ruikt citrusfruitig. Smaakt citrusfruitig, moutig, vanille.
3.4 Im Glas schönes, edles Kupfer. In der Nase Trauben, Cognac. Im Trunk dann dunkle Töne, Trauben, Holz, mittig alkoholisch, warme Noten, zartbitter.
5.0 12oz can served in a chilled glass. Pours a hazy Amber with a 1-inch foamy head. Taste is so smooth. My favorite beer by far now!
3.7 Thin beige head with a larger collar sat on a rich, dark orange coloured still body. Malt forward aroma with over stewed fruit & grape. Medium to full bodied, thick, oily & viscous on the palate with a cloying, dry back. Stewed fruit, over ripe fruit, malt, grape & pine tastes with a bitter hoppy finish.
4.0 On tap at Cap Tap. Pours dark gold with a thick clinging off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a near full-bodied pale malt flavor with a sticky resinous finish that stays on the palate. Interesting and quite tasty.
