3.2Bomber form the Pour House in Montrose. Appearance: finger white head, pale straw color, cloudy, good lacing. Aroma: wheat, sweet grain, light Belgian fruity yeast. Palate: average carbonation, light body, dry bitter finish, light chalky texture, light booze. Taste: sweet fruity yeast and wheat into floral that lasts and becomes pretty bitter. Overall, enjoyable, but off for style.
3.9Pours a hazy orange with a medium white head. Aromas of citrus, elderflower, kiwi and honey. Taste is citrus, elderflower, kiwi, honey and slight funky notes. Mouthfeel is dry with medium carbonation.
3.1Golden color. The aroma and flavor is sweet and tart with perfumy honey, pepper, restrained clove.
2.9650ml yellow waxed bottle. The name doesn’t really make sense, I’ sure others have pointed that out. It is is quite pale and golden abv considering. Strong belgian flavor, heavy raisin, low body, its okay.
3.0Yellow gold with a slight haze, one-finger off-white head and ok lace. Slight Belgian yeast aromas with a light smokiness and a surprising lack of spice. Light fruit sweetness accompanied by modest Belgian yeasts. Light to medium body, minimal carbonation, prickly mouthfeel and a sweetish finish.
2.8Flight at bottlecraft. Pale gold with a light head. Sourish with a weird apple taste.
3.5The aroma is full of Belgian yeast with undercurrents of sour fruit, banana, and light malts, and the appearance blends a small white head, lots of fine-grain sediment, and a hazy golden color. The taste is mildly sour and slightly sweet, but the balance is off, causing the sour to completely overpower your mouth; furthermore, the palate has a slick texture, medium-light body, soft carbonation, and a fairly sour finish.
3.4On tap at Barrels & Bottles. Gold and clear with a dissipating head and minmal lacing. Fruity esters, sweet malts, mild bitter hops and herbs in the aroma. Similar flavor with notes of Belgian yeast, clove and banana over a medium body. I like it.
3.5Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This golden beer pours with a quickly disappearing white head. It has floating sediment pieces with spicy, zesty lemon and vanilla flavours, floral earthy notes and a warming toffee and fruity finish.
3.1I dislike golden ales but this one is decent. Better than decent. And for the price it's even better. Nicely done.
3.7On tap at Global Brew. This may be a true blonde, but it’s not a true dubbel. In Belgium, this would be a tripel. It’s a pale hazy yellow with an ABV of 8% - - the definition of a tripel. Regardless, it’s very good. Fruity yeasty aroma with banana, clove, various other fruits, yeast and spices in the taste. A fine product.
3.7I had this at Global Brew. Pours a hazy gold, with a slight white head. Taste fruity, sweet. I thought this was good. I could drink this again.
4.4At 8% this brew is scary drinkable. Im not the biggest fan of the normal Ska True Blonde but this beer changes my mind. Notes of spices and Belgian yeast, this beer packs a ton of flavor and characteristics. Drank out of a bomber, this brew pours a bright golden color with an off tan frothy head. Overall, a solid, easy drinking brew.
3.5Hazy gold color. White head. Strong aroma of basement/old paper. Flavor is complex with belgian yeast, lichen, mineral, and grass fibers along with some bitter, fruity esters. The alcohol is too prominent. Harsh mouthfeel. Good enough flavors to be awesome though.
2.2Bomber at Patricks mansion with Taylor and Patrick. Pours a yellow gold. Aroma of fruity harsh bubblegum. Taste too fruity and more fruity harsh bubblegum. Finished USB harsh and lasts too long. Not very good
3.3On draught at Fate for the Ska tap takeover. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma is fruity, banana, coriander. Flavor follows suit with some alcohol noticeable. Thinner bodied with a ripened banana aftertaste. Different, but just ok.
3.4Pours a fairly standard golden colour. Nice aromas of sweet hay, candy, banana. Nice sweet candy flavours. Not very bitter. Decent.
3.3Location: 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods - Kirby,6/12/13
Aroma: The aroma is malty and grainy, some some straw notes, light grass, and mild fruit
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a small white head and some light lacework
Flavor: The difference from nose to flavor is more yeast and spice,, and the grass come out a bit more too
Palate: The body is fairly light, but it isn’t watery, it has a soft feel, and a spicy tingle on the finish
Overall Impression:
I was fairly unimpressed by this one. There just isn’t anything too exciting here, and I thought I’d get a more inspired beer from SKA. It is not a bad beer, it just doesn’t really excite.
3.3Pours clear pale yellow. The nose is spice, straw and sweet bread. The taste is sweet with an odd bitter. Possible oxidation. The texture is soft, medium body and a long finish.
2.6Backlog rating 1-06-2009 (Bottle) The Appearance is a white semi-fizzy small head with poor retention, transparent body, visible carbonation, one ring of lacing, and a yellow-golden hue. The Aroma is sweet, clove, fruity, and lightly hoppy. This beer taste sweet, honey, lightly malty, and fruity. The Palate is slightly tingly and this is a light-medium bodied beer. Overall, this beer does not smell or taste like a Belgian Strong Ale and it did not set the world on fire for me in any way, shape or form. The Aromas and Flavors did not click especially for this beer style. This is a beer that will not be on my personal list of beers that I want to drink in the future.
2.6Aroma of spices, herbs, belgian yeast, and honey. Pours a bright clear yellow with no head or lacing. The taste is slightly sweet. Belgian spices, hints of honey, cloves, and grain with a peppery finish. An alcohol taste also present. Medium-light body and carbonatin. Overall, ok, but I’m not going to buy it again.
3.5Bottle from Euston Tap. Clear golden, white head. Pearish aroma, some alcohol. fruity, well-balanced flavours. A decent Belgian-style ale.
4.3wow!!! This is rated 50????? WTF?????? This is excellent, I think the Trappist monks need to make a journey to Colorado to see how a Belgian Ale is made!!!!!
3.6Apple and pears mixed some faint alcohol in the background. Subdued flavors, nothing stands out. Mild sweetness mixed with fruits and spices. Some medicinal like tastes in the background. Nothing wrong, except its not very bold, as I would expect from a strong ale style. Kick it up a notch.
3.5Aroma is grainy malts, yeast and fruit. The flavor is malts, hop undertones, berries, dark fruit, and a warming and mildly alcoholic finish.
2.0I just can’t get into Belgians. This has the sweetness characteristic of the style, but not a lot else to the beer.
3.0Refrigerated bomber compliments of joepeesie poured into a trappist glass. Pours hazy golden with small white head that dissapates quickly. Small big bubble, medium/thin rocky body, low carbonation, slightly syrupy texture, and sweet aroma. Taste is doughy malt, some candy sugar, some honey, spice and light bitter finish. Not a great brew, but I like it because it is different.
3.5Poured from a glass into a stein, color is a hazy yellow/gold and has a thin head on the beer which fades away quickly. Upon sipping the beer you will notice (right away) the Belgium wheat taste, followed by a hint of banana and spice. Not one of my favorites, but not bad - this is coming from an IPA guy.
3.1Pours a clear yellow-gold color with a medium ivory white head that evaporates steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet malt and yeast plus some banana. Medium body with a sweet fruity character and notes of doughy malt and yeast. The finish is short with a banana and wheat aftertaste. Pretty average overall.
3.2Bottle shared by a friend. Pours a hazy gold color with a thin white head. Banana and grainy malt nose with some breadiness. Sweet syrupy flavor with banana and spice before a sweet honey finish.
