3.5Old rating from 13-03-16 - 330ml bottle brought home from my trip to Belgium last summer. Pours a hazy golden colour with a large white head. Aromas of citrus & malt. Tastes of citrus, orange peel, spice & malt, leading to a sweet fruity bitterness finish. Overall a nice summer drink.
4.0Goed blond biertje verder niets bijzonders
3.8Bottle online from Beerhouseshop.be.
Pours a hazy light golden/yellow colour with a huge thick throthy white head. Nice looking beer. Aromas of bananas, melon, apples, coriander, spice, floral and a little herb. Taste is more of the same notes detected in the aroma with added hints of bubblegum, citrus and a gentle hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body, fair carbonation and very slightly oily mouthfeel. Very nice.
3.5330ml bottle at Gollem, Amsterdam on 27/11/2008. A nice, quite ‘gluey’ smelling Belgian blonde. Flowery, perfumed notes with those esters. Quite full bodied with spicy flavours.
3.3Copenhagen 26/4 2020. 33 cl little, chubby bottle from Belgisk Bryg, Emdrup Mosevej, Kbh. NV. Slaapmutske's usual half-moon with a night cap on the label.
Pours unclear, pale yellow with a big, frothy white head. Settles as thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a strong fruity and malty sweet odor and a solid yeasty touch. Banana, peach mingling with caramel and bread. Humid, musty basement. Light grainy sourness.
Medium strong carbonation. slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a light bitter undercurrent. Lingers for a bit. Semi-dry finish.
Solid fruity and yeasty Belgian brew nicely balanced and with a fair intensity.
3.1Bottle at The Situation, served in its own Slaapmutske glass. Pours a golden colour, small head and retention, normal lacing.
Aroma is fruity, tangerines, peaches, malt, spices.
Medium body, sticky texture, normal carbonation.
Taste is fruity too, peaches, tangerines, bananas, spices.
Refreshing.
3.5Bottle from de Caigny dranken in Essen, Belgium.
The beer is hazy golden blonde colored and has a medium white head, with average carbonation.
The aroma is malty and very fruity, with notes of grass, citrus, bread, yeast, honey, peaches and spices.
The taste is medium bodied and light sweet malty and goes to fruity and light hoppy with notes from the aroma.
The finish is a little refreshing, light dry and pretty bitter.
3.2Dunkelgelb, feste weiße Krone. Fruchtig-malzig im Antrunk, passender runder Körper.
2.3Een aangename volmoutsmaak en een mooi afgerond mondgevoel. De afdronk is zeer zacht en aangenaam bitter.
3.7Lekker biertje, beetje richting Duvel. Uit de Belgische bierschuur net over de grens.
3.5Bottle. Foggy gold. Decent white head. Smells of grassy hops, spicy yeast, minor malts. Light to medium body. Tastes relatively dry, grassy, spicy, light to medium bitterness. Restrained maltiness. Decent. Saisonish feel. Still my favourite Belgian blonds are more malty as a rule.
3.2Fles gedeeld met Roelzie en Koenzie. Het is een geel bier met medium schuimkraag. De geur is wat fruitige. De smaak ik moutig en fruitig met een licht hopbittertje.
3.3Bottle. Straw-golden color, white foam. Aroma: flowers, citrus and fruit, malt. Taste: malt, citrus, fruit, pear, pleasant hop bitterness, slightly grassy.
3.04/VI/17 - 33cl bottle from Dranken Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 22/XII/18 (2017-705)
Clear blond beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty fruity, apples, some yeast, bit oxidized, almonds. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit oxidized, sweet, almonds, soft bitterness, some orange peel. Aftertaste: some citrus, hoppy touch, bit oxidized, sweet finish.
3.6Bottle @ Pressklubben, Stockholm. Golden body with a medium white head. Fruity, spicy, quite light and descent.
3.5Robe blonde, mousse peu persistante. Nez typé sur des notes de houblon, de malt, d’épices, de fruits, pointe florale, assez élégant. Bouche à l’attaque épicée, fine bulle, notes épicées, assez ronde et moyennement longue. Une blonde d’hiver.
3.0Draught @ Man in the Moon, Stockholm. Decent Belgian ale, had this with moules frites.
2.833cl bottle. Pours almost clear golden colour with a huge good lasting off-white head. Aroma of ripe pale fruits, hints of banana. Taste of pale fruits, oxidized malt, some spices...
4.1Blond bier met tarwemout en gerstemout. Meer bitter dan zoet. Hoge gisting met stevige schuimkraag.
3.8F: huge, white, long lasting.
C: pale gold, hint of hazy.
A: malt, orange peels, coriander, spicy, honey, peach, melon, banana, floral, light yeast.
T: there is no mention about “Zomerbier” on the bottle, just “Slaapmutske Blond”, malt, peach, coriander, light orange, floral, hint of honey, vanilla, very smooth, easy drinkable, good balanced and simply great beer, 0,33l bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout.
3.0Bottle from LDW, Eke. Clear blond colour, white foam. Light citrussy, yeasty. Dull blond Belgian beer. Nothing special.
3.2Pours clear-hazy yellow with a medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma contains malts, citrus, straw and hops. It tastes medium sweet, light bitter and light sour with fruity and spicy touches. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Nice.
2.833 cl bottle @ home. Pale golden colour, nice white head. Yeasty, fruity aroma, sweet taste. A decent blond beer.
2.8sample, clear golden pour with a white head. nose is weird candy sugar, grass, citrus, slight yeast notice, carbonation, off tasting, wet cardboard, slight peel.
1.9330ml bottle from Verheyde. Pours clear gold, white head. Aroma is sweet yeasty fruits. Taste is overly sweet, syrupy, imbalanced, way too much malt. A pretty poor Belgian blond. Avoided this beer for ages because of the label design. I guess one of the rare examples of rightly judging a book by its cover.
3.8Bottle. Nose is a classic blond profile, yeast, bananas, bubblegum, slight mustiness, floral hops. Taste is yeast, floral, banana, bubblegum, vanilla, wheat very faint hint of sour, beneath a smooth finish.
It’s a very nice example of the style.
3.1Keg @ Victorian Craft Beer Café, Halifax. Chalked up on the board as ’Nightcap Blonde’. Golden coloured with a small head. Has a mild bubble-gum fruitiness. Very palatable for its strength, which is not too evident.
