3.6 4 oz pour on draft at Spacebar. Clear straw yellow with off-white head. Aromas of wheat and citrus. Tastes of citrus, wheat, light grain. Light body with a dry finish. Solid.
2.9 Can from Hawker House, Canada Water. Weird can where the whole top comes off- not seen one of those before. Hazy yellow beer with a white head and a light fizz. Buttery with lemon hints. Light and easy drinking. Pleasant enough.
2.9 'Topless' can from Utobeer at Borough Market. Clear golden lager with a white head. Honey and sweet malt flavour. Some very gentle mineral notes with a hint of lemon and a very mildly bitter finish. Quite tasty.
3.1 Can from Beer and Wine. Golden body with thin head. Nose is skunky, corn. Taste is hops, citrus, sweet and citrus notes. Creamy finish. Decent.
2.9 360 lid can a.k.a. topless can fl.oz. Poured into a lager glass. hazy pale golden, small frothy white head, mostly diminishing; aroma pale maltss, grain, light grass; taste light to medium sweet and bitter, malty, light citrus and minerals; thin and watery sweetbitter aftertaste, light fruity notes; light body, watery texture, average carbonation; decent.
2.7 Acidic, sweet aroma. Appearance is a crystal clear golden color with poor head retention. Flavor has notes of cracker, bread and is acidic. Hop bitterness balances the sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium with medium carbonation. Overall, it's too acidic. Maybe too much acidulated malt?
2.9 Can from Booths, Media City. Hazy pale golden coloured with next to no head. Has a bit of fruit in its nose, fused with lager malt, and some citrus activity in its taste alongside some yeasts.
4.6 This is a beer to go. Soupy, nice foam, lacong, crystal clear, everything you would expect from Helles lager. I have 7-8 different types of beer and this ine is always in the fridge.
3.2 Nice example of the style. Flavor is biscuits and lemons, with almost no hop presence. Golden in color with a slightly malty aroma. The low carbonation makes it quite easy to drink. Great beer to have with pizza or a burger. You can have your double imperial black Belgian session all day IPA.....but I’ll take a beer like this, any day.
2.6 Can from cellar door, Sutton Coldfield. Hazy gold beer with small head. Aroma of bread and lemon. Taste is lemony, yeast and bread. Not bad.
2.7 Pours a light yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is vegetal and biscuity malt. Taste follows, not great
2.5 Can (BB Feb, 2016). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, husks), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with a note of soap. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Rather thin, watery, and rough-malted. Drinkable but not very good.
2.8 Meh, pretty boring belles that is thin and orange. Decent hopping but overall just too weak.
3.5 can - nice golden color. Malt and hop flavor. Very refreshing. I’ll be drinking this again.
3.5 Pours yellow fizzy. Aroma is full of apples, a most like a cider. Taste has more different malt notes though still sweet apple notes. Not much hops. Palate is thin, good carbonation.
3.0 Can into tulip. Golden w white head. Nice floral aroma. Biscuity notes. Mild hop and malt. Mild pine. Mildly bitter finish.
2.3 Simple thick yellow pour with light sticky head. Nose is cereal grains, sweet corn, simple maltiness, and unidentifiable fruit (star fruit?). Light body with nice carb. Very drinkable. Taste is exactly as the nose. Nice summer drinkin beer.
3.4 Can 355ml. Thx to my southern neighbour benefactor. Pours blond with very low white head. No lacing. Aroma is of lager action, grain. Taste is of lager action, malt, some sugar. Palate: Light body. High carbonation. Overall: Good. Refreshing. Leagues better than expected, while indeed not too complex.
3.4 Can from Whole Foods London Piccadilly. It pours clear golden with a decent white head. The nose is soft, sweet, bready action, dough, cereal, pale and a bit pissy. The taste is crisp, clean, light bitterness, sweet doughy malts, creamy, cereal, fresh lemon, grassy, earth and light metallic twang with a smooth, dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well rounded and good drinkability. Very nice lagery action.
3.2 Can from Booths. Clear golden with little head. Surprisingly this had almost no aroma. I found it bitter, dry and tasty and a pretty authentic helles. I like it but my wife didn’t, she thought it was bland, which I suppose is fair enough following a Brewdog IPA.
3.8 This was poured into a pilsener glass. The appearance was a slightly hazy golden yellow color with a decent transparency about it. Streams of carbonation rise at a moderate pace to fill a sly rapidly dissipating head. Leaves some light lacing roaming here and there. The smell starts with a sweet wheat and runs into a light little kick of spice as it warms. Semi-grassy but crisp and refreshing breadiness. The taste grabs the sweet wheat and combines it nicely into the spice, adds a little breadiness and blends into the aftertaste. There’s no finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a purely wonderful sessionability about it. Carbonation is light and gentle but still good for the style and for me. Overall, as a Munich Helles lager, there’s nothing wrong with it. Its good and I would definitely have it again.
3.0 Can thanks to Brian. Lightly sweet sugar aroma. Perfectly clear. Taste us moderately sweet with moderately bitter. Not a bad beer
4.0 Can - from sampler pack. Very light, crystal clear. Clean, slightly hoppy aroma. Very good - good balance of malt and hops. Tastes like a German beer.
3.4 Can @ home. Lightly hazy pale yellow color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, lightly wheat, a hint of yeast, lightly hayish and a soft hint of bitter in the finish. Soft carbonation, soft mouthfeel, average body. Easy drinkable low ABV beer. Not bad.
3.2 Can. Semi hazy golden beer with a large white head. Aroma is malty with notes of citrus, herbs, hay and grass. Flavor is spicy with notes of hay, citrus, grass and bread. Well balanced, perhaps a bit too sweet.
2.2 Can. Run of the mill style reminiscent of the national brands. Sour, average, boring.
3.1 Can at shortys on Pearl NYC . Pours a light tan color with no head . Taste is sweet and interesting with a light aftertaste. Not bad
3.7 12 oz. can. Pours a clear light gold color with a white head. No lacing. Aroma is primarily bready. Medium light body, mostly malt, not much hop presence. Fairly clean finish. Good!
3.3 Fancy can from the One Trick Pony, Moseley. Rather a stable, solid, quite plain, sticky, clean Lager. Nothing out of the ordinary, but quite fine.
2.9 355 ml can from Beer Up. Pale gold, slightly hazy, with an average, creamy and moderately persistent bright white head. Lots of bubbles streaming up. Typical helles aroma, definitely sweet, slightly nutty, some dark bread/biscuit notes, as well as herbal hops. The taste pretty much follow suite: sweet upfront, mild herbal and malty bitterness, slightly buttery/soapy taste, a hint of yellow fruits too. Solid dryness and excellent drinkability. Average carbonation, medium body, creamy texture. May not be very fresh, but it’s still OK.
