2.0A yellow body with a large white head that had good retention. Aroma was mild a splint spice note. Mild hints of bubblegum. Flavor was mild. Don't know what I was missing. I could not get any interesting or dominate flavors. Mild carbonation.
4.2Essentially like UFO white, except much better. Spices complement the beer well and bring it together.
3.2Draught. This is a nice session brew with a big flavour to keep it exciting.
3.4Still wrapping up notes from the 2011 Midwest Brewers Fest. Tawny yellow color beer. A little bit of head from a small bottle pour. Nose has some bubblegum ester and some yeast to it. Nice Belgian dubbel flavor of light malts and more ester, no distinctive hops. Just settles in very well as a session ale.
3.312oz bottle poured into a tumbler glass.
Slightly hazy light golden color with a medium white head, decent retention.
Spicy yeast aroma, with light fruitiness, fresh bread and some herbal notes.
Sweetish light malt, some citrus flavors, low bitterness and faint spicy snap.
Light-med body, pleasant and easy to drink, refreshing and quite OK.
3.4The beer pours decent with a golden hazy color, white head and well carbonated. The beer has little sediment and almost no lacing. The smell is definitely wheat and citrus notes with some mild spices on the back end. The taste is decent with a nice crisp wheat taste instantly and some citrus, almost corriander flavor, and possible a honey taste. The mouthfeel is okay with a crisp wheat flavor that lingers on for a while. Overall, this is a nice summer beer from Smuttynose but nothing you slam on your breaks to stop and get.
3.5Nose full of citrus. Soft malt. Hardly any phenols. A soft malt flavor with some cracker like notes. Dry finish. Not very tart. Ok. Very consumable.

3.1355 ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden with a short lived white head. Aroma is oranges, pears, spices. Flavor is orange, unripe pear, wheat, coriander, salt. Finish is very dry, very bitter (floral and herbal notes, mostly). Light body, watery mouthfeel, average carbonation. An alright, refreshing, very dry session ale.
2.6Advertised as a Session Ale with Spices, but I didn’t taste all that many spices. The beer almost seemed watered down and a little mild.
3.0Bottle. Pours clear pale golden with small white head. Clear aroma of hops, malt with touches of citrus. Bitter, hoppy flavour with a sweetish malty flavour and a subtle roasty note. Grainy aftretaste. OK but a little dusty and a trifle unbalanced.
2.8Bottle. Coriander and peppercorn aroma. Clear golden colour. OK stable white head. The flavour is a little watery, has some rough bitterness. Sugary and bitter. Not as spicy as expected.
2.9Bottle @ Home. Pours golden with a white head, loads of lively bubbles. Aroma of malt, yeast, spice, light pepper, grass. Flavor is rather sweet with malt, little honey, yeast, spice. Thin to medium body, lively carbonation. 070813
3.2Aroma of orange peal and coriander. Golden belgian ale appearance. Taste similar to a saison with a nice lightness. Not a favorite from Smuttynose.
3.7i’ve loved this beer from the first taste. it’s a solid belgian pale ale -- not quite as clean as palm, but pretty good for an american version. slight haze in its dark pale straw yellow color, modest head. a tangy note in the mostly malty nose, along with some yeasty mild yeasty esters. mostly malt forward flavor with some finishing tanginess, modestly bitter, clean finish with some lingering malt flavor in the aftertaste.
3.1pours hazy golden with a creamy white head, good retention and lacing. lightly toasted, biscuity and spicy cereals rather than malts, slightly yeasty and wheaty, bit of earthiness, spices - pepper, grass, shy belgiumness. moderate carbonation, light body - oily, dry short but present herbal-grassy-citrusy-spicy finish. meh - but drinkable on this hot summer day where my apartment is hotter than the outside.
2.712oz bottle. Poured a golden color with a white head. Grains, some breadiness, and lighter citrus.
3.3Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. moderate bitter flavor. Week spicy notes. Some fruity esters. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. Deasent beer.
2.5330 ml bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours clear golden with a small white head that leaves a small trace and some lacing while dissipating. Smell is stale and tiny sour with cereal, cardboard, lemon juice, lemon zest, white bread, dried apricots, swamp gas and overripe tropical fruits. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter and tiny sour with cereal, white bread, lemon zest, grass, pine needles, pineapple, lemon balm and dill. Mouthfeel is crisp, slightly watery and light bodied. Finish is tiny bitter with cereal, white bread, lemon zest and pine needles. A terrible smell hides an unremarkable beer.
2.9Bottle. Light amber beer with a light head. The aroma is lightly dry and the flavour is fruity with yeasty dryness. Overall a very average beer.
3.3Bottle:   Hazy orange, moderate to large frothy head, off-white, fairly nice lacing.   Soft spicy nose, slight
barnish mealiness.   Moderate sweetness, seems more malty than any sort of hop aspect.   A little plain, relying on
sublte sweetness and very faint yet to be determined spiciness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Simple semi-
sweet mustiness on the finish.   Not very dry, mild sweetness, a little musty.   Decent Belgian Ale I suppose.
Sweeter and less dry compared to others.
3.1Clear yellow, earthy, very sweet. Enjoyable in that it had a good tart flavor, almost like Berliners have, but follows through with kolsch like palate. Not bad, I like the bite, but the body isn’t as comanding. Only a slight lingering aftertaste. Would order this one anyday and enjoy it however there are better out there.
2.9Hazy orange with an off-white head. Taste and aroma are both grainy with apricot and peach present. Slight sourness, very little hop presence. Meh.
2.9pours a hazy dark straw color with short-lived white head. mild aroma, mostly wheat with some yeast and light hop notes. flavor is mostly wheat and bread, with some light sweetness and hints of lemon and spice. finish reminds me of lemon tea.
2.9Dark yellow and clear. Has a white head, medium duration. Hoppy aroma, uk hops, faint bread too. Flavor starts moderate sweet, and fruity, light bitter finish. Creamy texture.
2.412oz bottle. Pours a clear golden straw color. Very bubbly with small white head. Aroma is wheat with maybe a little malt and some citrus. Taste is very plain. Wheat with a bit of belgian yeast and some spice.
3.1Interesting session ale. Lots of spice and yeastiness. Its good but not spectacular. Probably one and done with this one.
2.9Bottle. Slightly hazy dark yellow with small white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, hop and yeast. Flavour is malt, fruit, yeast, spices, little hop, little sweet, little bitter, little thin and a little citrus.
