2.7 From bottle. Murky gold with thin head in glass. Aroma of day old lemon snaps, cloves and corn flakes. Malts come through as the offering warms. Taste is rather flat. Basic wheat through and through: think toast. Small amount of spice and bitterness. Not a lot of carbonation. Chamomile only shows on label.
3.1 Nice amber/gold color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of wheat, clove, & some citrus; Flavor of wheat, citrus, slight bananas, and some hops; Finish is slightly bitter; Decent.
2.7 bottle. golden with one finger head. wheat ale with a very flat flavor profile. dry with some chamomile. goddamn this is boring.
2.3 Bottle - I don’t know why I read weizen and though hefeweizen, but I had no idea this was a wheat ale until I smelled it. Yuck--one of my least favorite styles, and this is a doozy. Pours light hazy golden with a huge foamy white head. Nose is corny, grainy, and wheaty, with a hint of lemon and herbal hoppiness. Touch of bitterness. Taste is lots of sharp, lightly sweet grain, wheat, with a bit of lemon. Stale, not much flavor, and very angular. Pretty gross.
3.1 12oz bottle in a teku. Pours golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of light spicy yeast, pale malts, wheat, light hops, and light flowery notes. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not the best of its style.
2.9 From a bottle. Pours almost ear gold with a thin, fizzy white head. Tastes malty, skunky, and like corn. Light body and low carbonation. Faint smell of corn, musk, and grains.
3.0 Bottle. Pours hazy gold with fizzy white head. Aroma is pale and cereal malts, mango, lemon zest, floral notes, and fain toffee. Flavor is mostly dry malts with some toast, light floral notes, light toast, and faint citrus esters; dry finish. Light/medium body and medium carbonation.
3.1 Draught at World of Beers, Key West. Hazy golden colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of spice, fruit and yeast.
4.5 I had this at Global Brew. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Taste a little sweet, citrus. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again.
3.5 Found this for very cheap on offer, was pretty skeptical but ended up very pleasantly surprised. It’s cloudy to the point of complete fog, which is always a good sign in a wheat beer. The head is absolutely beautiful, very soft and bubbly - almost takes on a velvet texture. As for the taste, well, I can see why that might not be to everybody’s preference - there’s a distinct floral aftertaste that underpins an otherwise robust wheat ale. I find the bitter, floral tones really elevate it above your average hefeweizen, although if I’m quibbling it is missing some of the sweeter tones that are found in the upper tier ’weizens. Overall, a refreshing beer.
2.7 Passable wheat ale. Keep hoping one of these weizens turns out to be a weizenbock but haven’t had any luck so far. Pours blonde with ok head. Average carbonation. Finishes with light sourness and crispness. Some yeast and very light banana. Bottle.
2.6 330 ml bottle. Pours a veiled whitish straw with a nice white head. Flavor is banana, herbal tea, hay, cloves. Finish is spicy, chamomile, cloves, herbs. Lingering banana, spices, chamomile. Medium body, soft, mellow mouthfeel and weak to medium carbonation. Kinda disappointing.
2.9 Pours a clear gold with light head. Aroma of wheat and light malt. Taste of sweet extra light malt and little to no hop character. Very drinkable but could use some more hops.
3.6 Bottle Aroma: Light fruit, flowers, yeast Appearance:Cloudy golden yellow with creamy white head Taste: Slightly bitter, with a slight fruity sweetness Palate: Lively mouthfeel, light body, slightly bitter finish that dissipates quickly Overall: Quite enjoyable, no heavy/filling feeling like some of wheat beers. Not exceptionally complex or flavorful, but certainly fits the bill as a summer wheat.
3.3 pours hazy light yellow with a small white cap, little retention. coriander, citrus, fresh wheat, hint of cakey cloves, some bananas, lightly sweet malts, very hint of acidity. moderate to low carbonation, light body, balanced herbal-citrusy finish. no flaws really, good drinkability.
3.2 Bottle. Summertime. Poured a straw color with smaller head. Aroma of flowers, floral hops, grains, wheat. Light bitterness, light sweetness. A more hopped up summer ale compared to others of same style. Lemon wheat notes in taste with small bitter hop finsh. Happy summer drinking...
3.1 Bottle from Bert’s Pours a hazy medium straw color with a good sized bubbly white head that persists for a while. Smells of yeast and wheat and citrus and a hint of bread and cereal with a light floral scent. The flavor is a little sweet up front with some bready malts followed up by some lemony citrus and light yeasty phenols. A hint of earthy hop or maybe it chamomile to finish this off. Light to medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. OK to drink on this 90 degree and humid day, but not something I think I would ever want again. The flavors don’t work for my palette.
3.5 12 ounce bottle. Wheat in the nose. Citrus based. Some yeasty taste overall to it. Not a huge wheat ale flavor, but refreshing.
3.4 12oz bottle poured out a hazy yellow color with a thin white head. some malt and wheat on the nose but the flavor is light and refreshing. some malted wheat balanced. little to no hops I am sure it was there but just not apparent. good summer beer.
3.7 Hazy yellow-white with a thin but long-lasting white foam head. The aroma was fainter than I was expecting, but the flavor makes up for it. Complex like a weizen should be, with some citrus and floral notes and light bitterness. Light and bubbly mouthfeel, perfect after a hot ride.
2.9 Bottle: pours a nice orange color with a small white head. The aroma is floral with slight citrus. taste is slight citrus with grass and bitterness. It’s fun to drink... smooth and refreshing... summer beer for sure.
3.1 Spiced floral aroma, more wit than hefe. Cloudy yellow, more like hefe in this regard. Sweet and nearly sour citrus flavor, almost tart. Rings the palate with zest, IPA style bite. Nice non-dogmatic wheat beer.
3.1 Not much aroma to speak of. Short, white head that lingers. Pale yellow color; very light in appearance, even for the style. A bit of floral character from the chamomile. Tangy, but without the citrus notes that you find in many wheat beers. Decent hybrid of a German Weizen & a Belgian white.
2.4 Poured from a bottle into glass. Hazy yellow pour with a thick white head. Skunky wheat Aroma. Taste is similar. A bit floral from the camomile, but it’s very faint. Eh.
3.1 Pours a clear golden into the glass, with a wispy head that leaves spotty lacing. The nose is of lemon, cereal and processed candy notes. The flavors are subtle, taking a backseat to the mouthfeel, which is active and smooth, softer than a seltzer, and almost like a "malt cooler". They consist of some lemon (with zest and peel), cereal, candied citrus, muddied grains, lemon candies, and finishing with a light grassy bitter. Again, this seems to be taken for the "whole pull" aspect rather than the individual contingencies. Honestly, if I were rating from a view of substance and complexity, I may end up foregoing it. But if I’m looking for a great summer brew that services the hot seasonal elements, I could keep it as a very nice "go to" standby.
3.0 12 oz bottle pours a hazy golden color with a nice white head. Aromas of bread, spice, wheat. Light bodied, a nice summer beer
2.9 12 Fl. Oz. Bottle from Dover Liquor Depot "Craft Beer Fest." Tasting. Pours a hazy dark gold with about a half finger of white head. Some fruit and spice in the aroma combined with wheat and yeast. Taste is citrus, lemon and fruity spices, some light grassy notes. Overall a very nice crisp and refreshing.
2.8 Bottle courtesy of AirForceHops. Musty lemon and wheat malt aroma. Slightly hazed straw gold with a large white head. Musty bready wheat malt and bitter herbal flavor. Medium body, average carbonation. Doesn’t quite come together for me.
2.8 Draft at Proof. Pale golden pour with a thin white head. Grassy, wheaty aroma with light touches of pine. Crisp palate, muted flavors and kind of dull. I guess you can just pound these really easy.
3.0 Light and crisp. Nice aroma. The chamomile is well represented. Not much of an aftertaste. Overall a decent weizen.
