SNAB Pale Ale

SNAB Pale Ale

3.5 Aroma: Malts, caramel, hops, fruit, citrus, orange. Appearance: Amber/orange beer with an off-white medium head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium sweet with malts and caramel; gets slightly bitter towards the end.
3.5 Bottle 33cl. Orange, yellow with a medium bright white head. Aroma of dry hops with malt hints. The taste is bitter, dry hops are recognizable, but all in a friendly way. The dry hops get stronger in the aftertaste.
3.7 Bottle @ mitra beer xperience. Clear light amber, small white head. Smells hops, fresh, fruity. Tastes hops, fresh, fruity. Medium body, nice carbo.
3.6 Tasted at BX. Light opaque golden orange, small white lacing foam head. Fruity aroma, orange tones. Again fruity in taste, light bitter. Little tingle to tongue. Nice beer. (Arnhem 201509)
3.1 33cl bottle at home. Appearance: Clear amber with a off white head. with decent retention. Aroma: Grapefruit and orange peel, caramel, a hint of herbs, some unripe fruit bitterness in the finish, which is a bit odd. Taste:Light sweet and medium bitter. following the aroma. Medium body, lively carbonation. Ok, but not great IPA.
3.1 Goud oranje helder bier met een goede getinte schuim kraag. Ruikt zoet, fruitig, metaal. Smaakt zoet, fruitig. Meh.
3.5 Tap at Haarlems bierfestival. Clear amber with lasting off white head. Grapefruit and orange peel, caramel, light herbs, flowery, bitter unripe fruits. Light sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.
3.4 Bottle @ de Paas. Pours a faint hazy, dark amber beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma is rather malty, caramel, some slight hoppy notes in there over a yeasty base. Flavor is bittersweet without much depth. Not really impressed by this bad boy.
3.5 Bottle at home. Pours orange amber with a white head. Sweet, floral hoppy, malty aroma. Taste is bitter sweet, hops, malt, fruity. Light hoppy bitter aftertaste. Not bad. Refreshing and very drinkable.
3.6 Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy dark amber pour with a frothy off white head, citrus hop aroma, taste has tangerine, a hint of bitter grapefruit, biscuity malts, some floral action, a hint of spice, ok.
3.3 Geruch Orange, Grapefruit. Süßlicher Antrunk mit Zitrus. Mitte hefig, malzig, Zitrus, Kräuter. Abgang bitter, Kräuter und Orange. Gut.
3.6 Amber colour white a small white head. Taste is some nice hop, yeast, orange and some spice. Nice bitter afthertaste. Like all SNAB beers this one is also good.
2.9 On tap in Amsterdam; this one was OK . not usually a pale ale fan though this was less hoppy than NA options. A little dry on the finish; but quite easy drinking .. nice ... but I would not buy againm
3.2 Bottle 33cl. Amber/red with almost no head. Malty nose nd is also more dominat than the hops, both in the nose as in the taste. Good beer but not special.
3.1 Bottle at home in London - got it online. Pours hazy amber-orange with a creamy, off-white head. The nose has lots of bready malts, caramel, berries, ripe orange. Medium sweet flavor, a little boozy, with jammy citrus, strawberry, pine oils, wood, leaves. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet with mellow alcohol warmth, more pine, ripe orange, grainy bread. So so.
3.2 33 cl bottle. Pours amber color with a small head. Malt dominated aroma with sweetish fruits and piney, resinous hops. Caramel, sweet malts, orange and grapefruits on the flavor, some resinous hops with a dry wooden finish. Bitter and somewhat sticky sweet palate. I wasn’t expecting much, but it’s a fairly okay malty APA. 4414
3.5 33 cl. bottle @ home, Bought @ Mitra Tiel. Hazy amber with a white head. Not as hoppy in taste as the aroma suggests but decent nonetheless. Nice hoppy malty ale.
3.6 On tap at t’Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Clouded amber with white head. Dry hoppy fruity notes, peachy, apricot along with a tropical fruit character. Alcohol makes its presence felt, bittering and dry finish. Very decent.
3.8 33cl. Bottle. Pours clear amber with white head. Aroma orange, citrus, pine, fruity, peach, sweet, caramel. Taste caramel sweets, nice fresh piny hoppy bitter. Mouthfeel creamy, dry finish. Great APA.
4.0 Amberkleur met een dikke laag schuim. Ruikt hoppig, citrus.
Ruikt fruitig hop, bitter, honing. Smaakt bitterzoet fruitig, honing. Iets dunne structuur.
3.7 Bottle 33cl. hazy amber color, thin rocky beige head, dissipates quickly, not that much lacing; fruity nose, peach, orange, grapefruit, syrup, pine, herbal hops; mild sweetbitter taste, bit hoppy; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; smooth and mild light bitter finish. Not your typical American ale but a good generic pale ale.
2.9 At arendsnest, amsterdam. Nice colour thin white head. Ok pale ale, little heavy aroma, berry flavour, could be a somewhat more crisp for my taste.
2.9 Tap at the Brouwcafe, Scheveningen. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a big frothy white head. The aroma is big resin hop light yeast. The flavour is medium sweet light bitter with a watery tropical fruit, hoppy, light malt toffee palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. Lacks body and bitter hops. More like a fruit beer than a pale ale. It’s not bad... but it’s just not a Pale Ale IMO and it’s way too light and sweet.
3.4 On tap @ Arendsnest. Golden to amber color, hazy. Sticky, rocky, off white head. Aroma’s: resin, some citrus, lotsa hops, even somewhat acidic retronasal. In contrast, the flavor is rather mild, a light malty sweetness, a little hoppy acidity, not much actually. Medium bodied. Finishes with herbal hops, but only mildly bitter.
3.6 Licht Amber kleurig/ troebel. Mooie witte schuimkraag. Redelijk CO2. Smaak tropisch fruit mango ananas.
3.5 Amber/orange with a white head. Aroma of malts, fruits, hops. Some malty sweetness in the flavour and a nice hoppy/spicy aftertaste. Very nice brew.
3.7 Draught, Café Samson Nijmegen 12/2013. Had to go for a full pint for the Ms after having been offered a sample at the bar. Caters to all pleasant light APA parameters: exotic peach and maracuja perfume, dry and light palate, Brewdog-inspired exotic hop profile on a session ale malt base, quick finish. Maybe lacking some oomph and individual character to make it stand out, but it otherwise it is hard to find fault in this well-calculated Proefbrouwerij crowd pleaser.
