3.6From a can. Pours an orange body and makes a nice 2 finger white head. Aroma is of pine and fresh hops. Taste is really teriffic.
3.5Tap at Sanfords. Citrus and perfume aroma - nice. Yellow gold pour with a white head. This is solid. A little bitter finish.
3.7Tap. Pours clear golden orange, melon white head, great lacing. Aroma is Grapefruit, a bit of perfume, pine. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter. Medium body. Decent.
3.7Pretty solid. Hops are on the bitter.side. which in a way was nice since I’ve been having so many citrus ipas recently.
3.4Pours from the can light orange with a foamy white head. Lots of citrus in the aroma, hints of peach. Taste is bitter. Finish is dry and bitter. Good.
3.4Sample 6/8 at Snake River Brewing Co., Jackson. Clear dark golden with a small, off-white head. The aroma contains hops, pine, fruits (mango and grapefruit) and citrus. It tastes medium to heavy bitter and light sweet with a dry finish. Medium to full body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Nice balance with the fruitiness.
3.4Blind tasted with 5 other IPAs. IPAS were: 1. Scuttlebutt Gale Force IPA 2. Brooklyn The Defender 3. Snake River Pako’s IPA 4 Hale’s Supergoose IPA 5. Firestone Walker Luponic Distortion Revolution No. 006 6. Charter Oak Wadsworth IPA. All 3 raters rated the beers 534216.
355ml can. Gold pour. Aroma is citrus dank, lemon cleaner. Flavor is herbal and peppery, sweetish malt, lower bitterness, hop candy.
Post tasting thoughts:
Pretty decent stuff here.
3.0On tap at the brewpub in Jackson WY.
Copper-amber body with high clarity and an excellent, durable white head.
Aroma: hops and alcohol esters.
Flavor: moderate strength and bitterness for style. Poor hop mix for my taste.
Medium body and carbonation.
3.5Orange outta the can. Traditional sticky pine nose with grapefruit undertones. Pretty good overall, medium bitterness.
3.512oz can - it pours a clear golden orange with a thick pillowy off white head. Good aroma combination of hops and malts....pine, citrus, caramel and a hint of melon. I like the citrus and pine hop flavor that matches the caramely malt structure.
4.125/II/17 - 12Fl. Oz. can @ RBBWG (Beerlovers Bar, Antwerpen) - BB: n/a, canned: I/15/17 (2017-250) Thanks to BuckeyeBoy for sharing the can!
3.6Sampled at the RBBWG 2017. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours clear, darker blonde. Small white head. Smell is rather weak. Taste is bit pine, rather bitter. OK .
4.0Thank you BuckeyeBoy! 355 ml. can sampled @ RBBWG VI (2017). Canned 15 JAN 2017. Label of this one is a clear Oskar Blues rip-off. Hazy orange, little white head. Nose is sweaty orange peel, peach, hay, mellow hops. Taste is basic yeast, hop oil, orange peel, mango, easy drinking stone fruit, low tropical fruit, pine, floral, low flowers. Mellow, easy fruity, solid one for sugar. Body is orange peel, mango & low yeast.
4.012oz can. One week old this is one of my favorite ipas when fresh once it gets old it turns very malty. Pours out a crisp golden topped with a sand head. Nose is amazing hop resin caramel sweetness pine fresh floral notes. Taste is more of the nice fresh hops melons tropical notes and caramel sweetness.
3.4Aroma is hop dominated, with resin and mild citrus aromas. Malt is mild, providing some bread/grain aromas.
Color is a light amber, with an averaged sized white head.
Bitterness is moderate to heavy; sweetness is light.
Body is light to medium; finish is average length, with the resin and mild citrus hops dominating the finish.
Overall I liked the fairly clean, crisp texture and finish, though there was a flight touch of skunk aroma. The hops are fairly simple and indistinct for an IPA.
3.8Can, thanks Russ! Citrus hop aroma with notes of tropical fruit and slight pine resiny hop aroma. Pours cloudy golden colored with a huge off white head that has excellent retention but poor lacing starts with tropical fruit hop sweetness with mild grapefruit citrus. Finishes dry, but quite smooth with grapefruit citrus coming to the forefront with slight pine resiny bitterness at the very end.
3.6tap at SRB in Jackson. All around wonderful IPA. SImple, but very drinkable and smooth
3.4Clear gold, berry like aroma, hopped. Fairly bitter punch up front, resin, carbonated light-medium body, enjoyable.
3.5tap and can. noticeable difference between the two. can is more malty and creamy. tap at brewery is very bright, bitter, pungent b.o. and citrus. enjoyable in both formats but different beers.
3.212 oz can from I don’t even know when. The pour is a darker golden color, good orange to it, with a thick frothy white head that sticks around for quite a while and leaves some damn solid lacing. The aroma is good. There is a lot of juicy hop to it. No real bitterness, and the malt really comes through about half way and carries it out to the finish. The hops are pretty decent though. The flavor is a little worse. There is a strong metallic aspect to this one. The malts dominate the flavor. There is a little hop resin, and a hint of bitterness on the back end, but it’s just really relaxed and slightly disappointing. The mouth feel is a little thicker and has a creaminess to it. The carbonation is a little softer, and this has a distinct aluminum can finish. It’s not terrible, but it could definitely be a lot better.
3.412 oz. can. Pours a medium, well retained, tiny bubbled, ivory head, with extensive lacing, over a slightly hazy, amber (SRM 7) body......nose is pine, resin, citrus peel from the hops, light toasted malts with bread, biscuit notes, balance to the hops......taste is slightly floral sweet, with pine, resin, grapefruit notes, light allium, mild toasted malts, becoming dry, finishing with a moderate hop bitterness, balance to the hops......mouth feel, medium body, minimal alcohol. low carbonation. This is a pleasant, soft IPA without harsh bitterness, and rather mild malts. It falls well within the style, but is not particularly outstanding. The malts could use a bit of a rework. 3.5Can shared at the WWWW beer tasting at iphonephan’s. Gold with small white head. Loads of pine hops with some resin and sweet caramel malt. Decent.
4.0Probably one of the best IPA’s I can find year round. Everything in this beer is well balanced. I do not know why this beer is not more sought after, but I am glad I can get it.
3.9From a can. The pour is a dark gold with a white head. A carmel bitter lime taste.
3.5Draft pours clear copper with a one finger white head. Nice citrus and pine aroma, grapefruit (but it’s not purple!). Medium dry, hoppy on the finish, citrusy. Resinous and lively. Pretty good.
4.6Can from tavour. Nice thick frothy head. The simcoe really jumps out on this beer. I’m drinking out back while it’s colder outside than in the refrigerator! Flavor is fantastic! Excellent amount of bitterness making this really drinkable for the abv!
4.0this is a very good IPA.... Great 2 finger clingy head... nice lacing... nice clear golden color.
Tropical fruitbowl in the nose... pithy citrus zest and a dollop of pine.
Flavor mirrors the nose and despite the great hop flavors, it never verges into bracing bitterness... just enough pale malt to help the hops coat the palate.... yummy and very drinkable.
Body is a lite/medium with the expected carbonation.
3.4Draft. Pale yellow color, thick lace. Flavors of melon, pineapple and a bit of milk chocolate. This is good Simcoe. Nice but not spectacular.
2.7[ Bottle ][ 1oz ][ @tasting ][ $0 ][ Shot glass ][ 08.15.15 ]
transparent gold, fizzy white head no effervescence. Heavy pine and orange nose, considerable sweetness, bit resinous. Sweeter flavor, very standard American IPA, overly sweet, candy orange and cotton candy. Sticky.
