Snake River Pale Ale

Snake River Pale Ale

Snake River Pale is an American pale ale. Golden in color, it is brewed with domestic malt and plenty of Cascade and Columbus hops. Dry-hopped with even more Cascades. It has a citrusy hop flavor which is followed by a crisp, firmly bitter finish.

3.0 For a simple pale ale - this is a fine beer. Nothing crazy, but smooth and well balanced. Good
1.7 [ bottle ][ 1.5oz ][ @Tasting ][ $ ? ][ schnapps flute ][ 12.20.15 ] transparent gold, dense puffy white head, great lacing. Oily nose, dirty paper with dark grain. Light vegetal dms and overly carbonated / active yeast. Sweet corn mid palate, fizzy overall. Mess of a pale ale, errors all over.
3.4 12oz can pours a clear orange with some cloudy, white head. Nose is bright with grass and orange, pine, soap, mild malt. Flavor has orange and mild lemon tea, cracker, some soap. Dry finish. Drinkable.
2.8 Can at the main DC December gathering. Poured a golden yellow color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light citrus hops, with plenty of caramel notes, earthy finish. Light sweet malts, touch of very light floral notes.
3.0 Draft pours clear copper with a lasting white head. Citrus hop aroma, slight caramel. Pretty standard flavor, malts with medium hop character. Medium body with high carb. Average or so.
3.1 Some citrus here. Some citrus. Light bitter finish. Amber pour with ok head. Cam at tasting.
3.3 Can at the DC December Gathering #2. Thanks iphonephan. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of light citrus, floral, wet cardboard. Tastes of caramel, malt, citrus, floral. Medium body with a dry finish.
3.2 Fresh can muled from the source by iphonephan, thank you sir! Clear golden color. Aroma of summer fruit. Taste is light fruity lemon. OK.
3.5 Can from a trade with Palme. Pours clear golden with a huge creamy white head. Aroma of sweet orange and some flowery hops. Taste is moderate sweet pale malts, soft mouthfeel, dry flowery mild bitter finish. US state # 40.
3.2 Pour is a chunky white head atop a hazy golden brew... Smell is a bready mix of pale malts and spicy/floral and lite citrus hops.... Aroma is good, but with an interesting yeasty fruitiness.... really pretty good but hard to pick apart... as it warms the hops become more apparent. Taste is toasted malts.. maybe a little too much hop/minerally bitterness... but still nice. Not a whole lot to it.. but drinkable for sure... very good palate and flavor.. just a little underwhelming. Flavor is suprisingly clean for such a fruity aroma. Earthy/citrus zest hops mix well with the malts.... again drinkable forever.
3.7 Grain and hops evenly fill the aroma. Very clear light Amber color. Mild hopped bitter but mellow light lasting bitterness. Light body. Decent standard.
2.9 ペールエールに小麦のふうみ.
3.7 Poured from can into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a one finger head of billowy white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading slowly over time to leave a lighter level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is heaviest of a bready smell mixed with a little bit of a caramel and hoppy smell of some grapefruit. Along with these aromas comes some lighter notes of grass and a little bit of a floral smell. Taste – The taste begins rather bready with these taste being the bulk of the flavor. Right from the start there is a little bit of a caramel sweetness as well, which remains throughout the taste of the beer. Some hop flavors of a grapefruit flavor are present from the start with these getting stronger as the taste moves on. Along with these hop flavors, are some light grassy and floral flavors, which in the end, leave a rather malty and lightly sweetened and hopped flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side as well. For the mix of malt, hop, and light sweet the feel is rather nice and makes of a rather easy drinking brew overall. Overall- A nice easy drinking pale ale overall. I usually prefer a little more hop, but this one was very enjoyable just as is. This is certainly a nice brew to sit and sip over the long haul.
3.0 12 oz. can from Albertson’s in Jackson. Pours a clear gold with a huge white head that leaves heavy lace in the glass and settles unevenly. Nice, light, pleasing aroma. Bland, watery flavor. Florals, citrus, wet grass and hay, and metallic notes. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. The first whiff had me optimistic - as did my experience with their fresh IPAs on tap - but this ultimately falls short. Easy hot-weather guzzler, but not much here.
2.8 Can to half-pint glass, shared with the Mrs. (courtesy of DrSilverworm via phaleslu). Looks good; a transparent golden orange with eggshell head. Smells of bitter hops with a bittersweet malty backbone. Tastes like it smells, but less balanced. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and bitter. An underwhelming example of the style.
3.3 Pours a nice golden color good aroma nice head. Taste is a little bitter at first but smooths out nicely, slight after taste in the back. Would recommend.
2.6 12 oz can brought back from my sister’s expedition to Wyoming. Snake River’s American Pale Ale is a hazy red gold brew with a fine head of tiny white bubbles. Nose is scented very faintly of floral hops. Taste is a bit crisp but also refreshing. Floral hops, honey and a bit of a lightly roasted malt. The body is rather unremarkable and it finishes clean with just a touch of bitters. a nice ale, but i would like a bit more body and finish.
3.3 Clear golden pour with a single finger head. Aroma is bright and citrusy. Mouth is a little light. Taste is full of grains and cereal. Nice citrus component. Refreshing and easy drinking. Lace present.
3.2 Rating from 4/6/2010...It pours a nice clean copper with a tan head...light malt aroma and a sweet citrus whiff....the taste is very similar to the aroma...its light bodied but with a touch of creaminess...not bad...not bad at all
3.3 12oz can pours a golden color with a lot of frothy head. Nice easy going hop flavors. Very drinkable.
3.3 Thanks to erzengel via Chris!!! The beer pours a clear golf color with a nice big light tan had. The smell is light malt, grain, citrus. The taste is some fruit, light caramel, citrus ending dry. Light body with fine carbonation.
3.5 Thanks to Chris for bringing this can over! Nice floral and slightly sweetish nose. The beer starts smooth, floral with a nice smooth grainy body. Easy to drink, fresh. The aftertaste is floral-fresh, hints of grain, hints of malt. Not too deep in body, but nice floral bittered. Nice stuff!
3.0 "Pretty fresh when I had this, so the grassy hops stand out a little. Seems like if one sits for a bit, this would be a little carmel malt & biscuit malt heavy, but super fresh, it works as a clean simple pale ale."
3.0 Very lightly hopped for an APA. Not too much stronger than a crisp German pils. Pours out medium golden. With a small lasting tight white head. Ready aroma and taste, some mild dry hoppiness at the finish.
2.5 Tap @ Sanford’s. Sampled at the rker of a long day of travel. My first WY tick. Not great but enjoying myself any way.
2.8 Ha! It showed up in town, along with the Pako’s Eye-P-A, today at 2nd Street Liquors, best by 9/18/11 that’s a sticker on the 6 pack carrier and not anywhere on the can. It pours a light gold with a 1 finger head of foam and some lacing. A lightish nose, as usual, for the beer. Some light hop bitterness, not much else. The taste has some good hop character; bit of grass, some pine, the malt is on the sweetish side with some noticeable notes of grain. The freshest sample of the beer I’ve had in a long time other than the draught I’ve had at the local Old Chicago. I’d consider it a good "gateway" beer for the craft beer noobie. The taste is just too smooth to spark any oohs and ahhs from experienced drinkers. Not that that is a bad thing. 05-27-2011
3.6 12oz can, purchased from Brennan’s in Madison during my stay for GTMW. Best by 8/16/14. Labeled 5.2%. Golden orange color, mostly clear. Fine particles suspended in the body. Thin finger of white head, good retention. Leaves good, thicker rows of lace. Looks pretty good. Medium body. Good full mouthfeel. Smooth, lightly soft kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Good peppery hop, mildly piney, some grassy herbal. Bready malt, nice lack of caramel taste.. Light spiciness. Moderate bitter taste, light to moderate sweet. Just a light roughness to the taste that holds back drinkability, but taste is nice overall. A solid, enjoyable pale ale to sip take swigs at. Pretty solid now... Would be cool to try this fresh
3.4 Can pour light gold. Nose floral and dank hop. Slight mineral. Taste light bitter up front. Again some mineral mid palace. End fruity hop transition to bitter.
3.3 A nice solid pale ale. Nothing special in any aspect but has a decent malty aroma and bitter flavor. A little too light in aroma, flavor and body but overall a pretty good beer.
3.2 Bought mistakenly chasing SD tick. Pours hazy orange. Light nose of citrus and malt. Tastes of orange peel, floral, resin, hard candy, and caramel. Watery palate with drying finish. Not worth the subway ride it took to get.
