3.6 This beers only lacking characteristic is its appearance. Wonderful flavor and aroma of chocolate bit smoother than a stout. It keeps that beer undertone in both aspects a swell.
3.9 Old bottle with white chocolate label. Poured a light caramel color with eggshell head. Very sweet with much less coffee flavor than expected. Very tasty reward for passing the bar.
3.4 shared at our monthly bottle share. Labeled as Sonoran White Chocolate. The aroma off this golden hued pour was nice white chocolate and cookies. the flavor fell off a bit with more cookie and biscuit but less chocolate and sweetness as the nose had promised.
3.3 Bottle..pour is golden with a white head..Nose is vanilla, salt water taffy, white chocolate..Tatse is light, sweetness, stale, spice, orange white chocolate..
3.0 Smells wonderful but the white chocolate taste is overpowering and feels heavy on the tongue.
2.8 Pours a light yellow color with a distinct malt white chocolate malt aroma. Taste is similar, white chocolate malt flavor with a slight carbonated aftertaste. A little thin beer, but different.
4.3 right out the top you get the white chocolate that covers your nose, then the malts combine the 2 flavors into a very enjoyable beer. easy drinking all the way.
3.0 Bottle as Wht Chclt. Aromatic first shows little chocolate though the flavor is a tootsie roll wit. Interesting but not great. Aroma eventually opens up a little. Body is way too carbonated and takes away from the overall.
2.7 Pour on tap, slightly hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of bread, chocolate, coffee notes with an acidic, tart fruit note in there with a hint of grainy notes with a slight vanilla. Taste was a mix of vanilla, coffee, chocolate, slight lemon, hints of earth, slight grain, touch of yeast, finishing slightly sweet.
3.0 Bottle to pint glass White chocolate, orange, malt, corn(?). Hazy amber, but that’s after the head settled. Initially this was all head. Truthfully, it was completely head when poured. Taste is orange, and something akin to nutmeg, but not as strong and then a touch of chocolate.
3.3 Different for sure, I think stone is doing something like this, golden pour chocolate aroma, may be I haven’t got the connection. Couldn’t drink more than 8 oz...may be for someone else who has a more in tuned palate for this style.
3.6 Brewed at The Phoenix Ale Brewery. My first bottle exploded, so got another and fridged it immediately. Still has quite a poof on opening. Monster off-white foamy head which relaxes to a very hazy, somewhat dirty gold. Aroma on deep inhale actually suggests white chocolate. Med body or so. Quite carbonated. Flavor is essentially chocolate - and it’s not the dark thing. Not cocoa. But apparently cocoa butter is considered to be chocolate. Interesting stuff.
3.3 draft, this is weird. Chocolate flavors in a pale ale that was light. Interesting for sure.
2.5 Un liquide doré massivement carbonaté qui a la texture d’un soda et le profil gustatif est hyper vanillé.. C’est réussi dans la mesure où l’objectif est de reproduire le crème soda. Je m’en serais passé.
2.9 Hazy golden pour with white head. Nose is chocolate and fruity yeast. Sweet throughout, watery body. Sticky-sweet finish Overall: weird. It would take a serious master to make this palatable. As is it was not the best.
2.8 Unclear pale yellow with a quickly dissipating bubbly head. Eyes deceive the nose. Does not smell like it looks. Theres some grain and ’pale lager’ aroma beneath apparent chocolate. Chocolate milk. Vanilla. Flavor follows, which is unexpected. Too crisp and too much prickly carbonation. Bigger light body. Even if its all on purpose, this is an odd confusing experience.
2.8 super carbonated, tingly feeling. a little white chocolate in flavor and aroma. aroma is a little flat for me.
3.7 This was NOT bad at all. It reminded me a lot of a paler version of Brasserie Bourganel Biere au Nougat. Clean, caramel/chocolate notes, restrained sweetness, and a fairly dry finish. It was enjoyable in small doses.
2.0 On tap @ The State Bar. Clear golden pour with white foam. Some chocolate, vanilla extract, and a whole lot of sugar. Like, woah. Super sweet and malty. Flavor is like a prepackaged chocolate milk with a bunch of extra sugar and some vanilla. Tons of sweetness to this. Almost undrinkable to me with how sweet it is. No thanks.
1.8 Pours amber with fast dissipating head. Little aroma even though I let it warm up. Mostly flavorless with a small hint of chocolate. Very watery. Don?t waste your money on trying this one.
3.1 Golden in color with a bit of white head. Slight chocolatey aroma, definitive white chocolate flavor. Quite interesting, and surprisingly chocolatey flavor that goes decently with the beer.
3.2 On tap: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy cocoa powder and light vanilla...maybe a touch of grass. It?s a transparent dull gold with a small white head that eventually fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is some spotty lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of wheat. The finish has light-moderate sweet cocoa powder and vanilla. It?s light bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, it?s probably a good thing I got a 4oz sample. I like chocolate, but straight cocoa powder generally wears on me quickly.
3.9 Serving: from bottle. Aroma: moderate chocolate and light raspberry(?). Appearance: small, frothy, white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, medium-yellow body. Taste: moderate cocoa initial flavor and lightly acidic finish with short duration. Palate: light body, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall: very chocolatey
2.5 Bottle, thanks to _Angst_, split at Colin and the Vikings tasting, Nol, Goteborg, Sweden 22/03/14 as Sonoran White Chocolate Ale. Hazed orange with a moderate off white covering. Nose is bitter fruits, spie, citric peel, straw. Taste comprises pale malts, citrus, pretty bland, lemon rind, grassy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Very mediocre stuff no subtle taste of white chocolate, tased like an astonishingly average pale lager !!!
3.0 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Phoenix. Pours a clear gold color with a white head. Notes of chocolate, vanilla, and pale malts. Sweet and sugary. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. I’m told this is very popular out here. I liked the first few sips but got sick of it quickly. Wouldn’t recommend more than a taster.
1.5 How: Bottle. Where: Tasting at Colin and the Vikings, Göteborg. Courtesy of _angst_ Appearance: Light yellow colour with a large white head. Aroma: Not much and certainly not any kind of chocolate. Malt I guess, perhaps some fruit or vegetable. Body: Light body, medium carbonation. Flavour: Sure isn’t chocolate, neither dark nor white. Sour.
2.5 Bottle (bomber), courtesy of _angst_. CLear golden,, medium white head. Grainy, earthy, vegetative. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Dry with low to medium bittermess.
2.3 Bottle at the "Colin and the Vikings tasting, Goteborg". Poured a hazy straw coour with a thin white head. The aroma is neutral veggie. The flavour is neutral veggie herb with a watery neutral palate. Chocolate?? White, dark? Nothing at all really and no flavour.
:S BESVIKEN...
1.7 Bottle received as extra in trade. Thank you Daknole! Labeled white Chocolate Ale. Pours tiny hazy golden with a small frothy white head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is, well, strange with unfermented grains, low quality white chocolate, cereal, lemon zest, soil, hay and milk duds. Taste is tiny sweet, tiny bitter and tiny sour with grains, crackers, cereal, lemon juice, vanilla beans, hay, dry soil and possibly hints of white chocolate if you really try hard to find it. Mouthfeel is crisp, phenolic astringent and light bodied. Finish is bitter and tiny sour with grains, cereal, hay, dry soil and lemon zest. Not my cup of tea at all. Hopefully i’ll get the chance to see what Arizona really has to offer at some point.
